omg.. no.  if you really want a KK, then get one and cut it in half, make a nice cup of coffee or tea, whatever you like best, sit down and eat it. Give the other half to your other half.  Have what you want, but in smaller amounts. 

When Michael found out he was diabetic , he said. I can eat everything, in smaller amounts, or none of it. Something is better than nothing.  

I've found ways to make things my Husband with a sweet tooth can have. It's worth the effort to make your own stuff.

My mom was diabetic, and we would sometimes stop a KK when their Hot Now sign was on, and ask for a dozen unglazed. She could eat 2 without her sugar spiking. They're actually not that bad unglazed, but a hot from the frier glazed KK is awesome.

I don't have many donuts anymore, but when I do, I will sometimes say, "this one's for you mom." That way it's no calories for me.

Sorry to hear your area is still having air quality issues. I noted the red bar. (as I like to call it) alert was gone for Toronto and my town, so I thought we were getting in the clear. I hope the cool weather in the next few days helps dissipate the haze as I think it’s the warm weather that keeps it in place.

Aw, i like that. i haven't had a donut since December 8, 2024.  On that day we were going to a Christmas party and bought a box of timbits to share while on the road. They were very nice. LOL

Maybe.. you never know. It does feel cooler here this morning. I'm going out for a walk and maybe a haircut if they are not too busy today. If they are busy i'll make an appointment. Sasha is the best and i've made his blueberry pie bars twice now... The Men love them and i like them too.

It's a bit better this morning, but they still rate the air quality as poor. I hope they get some rain in the north and northern prairies to help with these awful fires.

Think I had my last doughnut, oh a week ago in Frankfurt airport lounge. They were tiny, round, no filling but to die for. And given price of flight I should have brought a bag home…

now 3/4 packed car for our next trip with the evil duo.  @kbois and @weinerdog get ready for horrifying tales of what they get up to in N Spain.   It’s a long road trip but nearly all on motorway…. We will be in a tiny hamlet in the middle of nowhere but surrounded by amazing scenery (Los Picos de Europa) and medieval churches and monasteries (our joint hobby).

OMG

My faith in humanity has been somewhat restored. A couple of months ago we had a couple apply for an annual site. Unfortunately, they were declined. A couple of days ago the husband came in to talk to me about their situation. After finding out more information I resubmitted the application and when it came back declined again, I was able to send an override request to my regional manager with the reasons and what they were doing to rectify the situation. He approved the application.

Yesterday, my front desk person called them to let them know. The wife was so happy. Today, she came in with a beautiful bouquet and told us she was having lunch delivered tomorrow.
