Popular Post kbois Posted May 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2025 Congratulations @Gary L! Unfortunately, yesterday was not a good day for me. I lost one of my dogs, Zeke. He started slowing down a couple of months ago and last Friday he stopped eating and was really lethargic. I had a vet appointment for yesterday, but he was gone when I got home. Zeke was one of those dogs with some challenges. When we first got him he had some aggression issues but it was mostly over food. We think he may have been abused as he was scared of most people. We worked on socializing him and it helped, but I never did fully trust him when it came to meeting new people. We also took him to obedience school.... three 8 week sessions. That's when we discovered he had a box of rocks for brains. He learned sit and down. He was iffy with wait. He could manage about 3 seconds. He also walked face first into a solid door... no glass whatsoever, because he wanted to go out. 🤦♀️ In spite of all his issues, he was a sweet boy who would wait until you weren't paying attention and climb up on your lap and demand pets. In return he gifted us with dog fur all over our clothes. I already miss him and the tippity tap of his nails on the hardwood floors. 💔 3 8

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted May 6, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 6, 2025 @kbois @weinerdog is right. Zeke had the best person in you. You and your family adopted him and did your best for him. RIP Zeke. xo 7
Popular Post Wayne Gray Posted May 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2025 @kbois aw, I'm sorry to hear you lost Zeke. You did a great job with him. You gave him a chance, and he knew he was loved, and he may have never gotten that with another person. 💚 7

I can’t get my head around how people can be so cruel. At least he got a load of love from you xxx 7
Popular Post kbois Posted May 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted May 6, 2025 Thanks everyone for the condolences. I don't think Zeke was a lucky dog. I think we were the ones who were lucky to have him. 9

Thanks everyone for the welcome backs. It is appreciated. @kbois I'm sorry to hear about your dog Zeke. The loss of a pet feels no different than losing a human love one. I still say a prayer for my cat that walked across the rainbow bridge. 7
Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted May 10, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted May 10, 2025 i'm going through a very meh time. i don't want to do anything ... don't want to knit, or crochet or write. i don't know why, but it bothers me. i have a project that's started, but it's simple and kind of boring, so i'm not rushing to get that done. Right now i'm going to go make quiche for our dinner tonight and then i guess i'll watch a movie. Hopefully you all are more motivated than i am. Have a good day. 9

I hear you, tim, and wish you well, because really, sometimes not wanting to do anything is actually doing something. You’re “taking a break” as it were. Enjoy the quietness that brings. As for dinner? Quiche sounds like a lovely idea. xoxo 4

The quiche was good. It was just a broccoli and cheese one. 4

Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow… I didn't need to read any further than cheesecake... I'm in! I will be spending tomorrow morning making omelets for our Mothers Day breakfast at work. I think we have about 40 people coming. Today I chopped onions and peppers and sautéed them a little so it'll speed up the process tomorrow. I also made a giant pan of hashbrown casserole. I'm sooo looking forward to that! I'm taking Monday off for a "me" day. I plan on doing absolutely nothing. It's supposed to be rainy day... perfect for being lazy. 4
