Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted March 21, 2021 Site Moderator Posted March 21, 2021 @Ryan Jones 50, 000 rose petals seems excessive, but on the bright side if they don’t have to all be cleaned up, I’m sure the local squirrels and birds will be swiping them for their nests. I can still see in my mind’s eye, the squirrels at uni scrambling to collect the toilet paper from the trees in the quad after some (can’t remember what it was) big party was held. 2 1 2

Did you have batshit crazy soon-to-be inlaws who wish everything to be over the top for their only son and grandson? There are always going to be some bat shit crazy peeps butting in to the planning. At least your nutjobs are willing to pay for their insanity. I threatened my father, aunt, and 3 uncles the weekend before my wedding that if o w cross word was uttered about my grandmother's estate, I would throw the lot of them out on their collective asses, wedding dress be damned. One uncle looked at pop and said something on the lines of "she would, wouldn't she?" Pops reply was " I ain't gonna do anything to find out!" 4 3

kbois Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Looks like everyone had a good weekend. After Friday's fiasco I left it all behind and throughly enjoyed the weekend with my family. The drive up was fine, the drive back we hit a ton of traffic. Dinner Sat night brought us some exciting news..... looks like my boy is moving to Kansas. His girlfriend was offered the job and accepted. They'll most likely move some time in July. I'm really happy for them, just a little sad that they'll be so far. I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll probably be engaged before the end of the year. We had an awesome brunch this morning. Restaurant had an outdoor patio and bar area. They had the plastic flaps closed because it was in the low 50s this morning but they had plenty of tower heaters. Irish coffee may have helped a little too to stay warm. I'm so happy so many of you have gotten your first vaccine. Florida opens up to 50 and above tomorrow so we'll get registered and hopefully it won't take too long to get an appointment. Gonna hit the hay soon. I never sleep well away from home and over six hours on the road tired me out. Goodnight all! 4
Popular Post kbois Posted March 22, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 22, 2021 Finally...a Monday that is starting off the week on the right note. My husband and I both have appointments later this week for our 1st Covid vaccine shot. I also called my idiot brother and while I had him on the phone I made appointments for my mom and for him. Listening to him rant about our other brothers was a small price to pay. Peace reestablished for the moment. Have a good day everyone! 6

It was literally bent slightly to the side like a broken toy and each step hurts like hell. Had to use crutches for almost a month. Though I was still in High School back then. Good thing it was summer vacation or else I'd have to climb the stairs every single day at school. Edited March 24, 2021 by Solus Magus 5

I was never good at a bike, as a young teen I once ran into a telephone pole, so not so coordinated on one. I gave up on bikes except for very short (5 blocks or so) trips. As soon as I turned 16 I got my driver's license and a car and never touched it again! I have about 10lbs of lockdown weight also. Mine will disappear when I get back to playing poker at the casino. I take adderall for focus (prescribed by doctor) and that pretty much eliminates the excess appetite and increases my metabolism. 5

But regarding traumatic experiences on bike, I fell into an open sewerage once because I was trying to imitate some kids who can bike with no hands. Jeez. What a stupid thing to do. 1 4
Ryan Jones Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 (edited) On Facebook for the past couple of months I've been going back through the old pictures. As I've said, I'll be 70 next month and I have some pictures going back to the early 1900s of my grandparents and their children at young ages. I have about 20 family members on Facebook, all 1st, 2nd or perhaps 3rd cousins and they've gotten a big kick out of seeing their grandparents as small kids. Of course all those older photos are either black and white or, on occasion, hand colored by the studio. The ones that are black and white I decided to run through an online colorizer just to see the results and I have to admit in a lot of the cases it's been great. The clearer the picture the better the colorization. My oldest 1st cousin is 79 and when I colorized a photo of her as a kid with a lot of the other cousins, she remembered that dress. If you're interested in giving it a try I'll post the link to the page I use. It's totally free. https://playback.fm/colorize-photo Edited March 25, 2021 by Ryan Jones 2
Fae Briona Posted March 25, 2021 Posted March 25, 2021 Horrible day today, and tonight SP and I have a conversation w. the attorney working on our estate paperwork. <sigh> If it weren't for the medical benefits -- and the lack of other available work in this area -- I'd probably tell them to stuff it. 3 1

kbois Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Hey all, it's been a rough-ish week. Every plant that's not a palm tree has decided to crank out pollen in copious amounts the past couple of weeks. My head has been in a vise. Plus I haven't had a decent night's sleep in at least a week and a half. Waking up 8-10 times a night sucks. Add in getting vaccinated and hit with body aches and fatigue... I have no idea what symptom belongs to what cause. All I know is that when I'm tired I'm cranky, when I'm exhausted I'm bitchy. I don't like being around bitchy me. My social skills have been lacking. I'm just happy me and hubby got our 1st shots, Mom got hers too. Florida is opening up vaccinations to 18+ on April 5 so I'll get an appointment for my younger son and ride my older one to get his. Hope everyone else is doing okay. 5

Not where I got the shot either but closer to the elbow. I've heard a lot of people talk about how the 2nd Moderna shot kicked their ass so I'm prepared. Yesterday Justin was walking in the grocery store when the pharmacist that knows us asked him if he wanted the J&J vaccine because they had a cancellation so of course he said yes and now he's vaccinated. If I read things correctly he should be at maximum effectiveness about 4 weeks after the shot. 4
