YouTube Plagiarism 12-10-2022

Thank you to site authors for the alert on the plagiarism occurring on this YouTuber's playlist (below). I'm not adding any author names, but there have been authors helping find MANY other authors.  They can choose to add their story info or join the conversation here or not.

The plagiarist is using a text-to-speech reader and CC writer to post the stories with a voice recording YouTube as chapter updates. I'm so sorry that happened to so many GA authors! Yes, anyone could have taken this because all it takes is being able to view the content, which guests can do. They don't have to be a GA member or logged in. I've been plagiarized on a few different sites over the years and had to issue many DMCA notices for myself and others. It's a pain, and feels like crap, but it's not too complicated a process.

Authors who have discovered their content can do two things. 1) Issue the DMCA notices on for their stolen content being posted as videos and 2) report the above profile via the "flag" for scam and then state it's for plagiarism/attempted monetization.

It is worth pointing out to authors that this particular YouTube user has published some stories multiple times. On each occasion he has used a different title and video but the story remains the same, a report needs to be done for each video, if not it is possible that your story may remain out there without your permission.

I now have eight complaints going through, I'll let you know how I get on in the hope it will help other authors.

What can be done when a story written by authors no longer on GA has been plagiarised? I know of at least one story, which has been posted twice on YouTube, that was written by a deceased author. Knowing that there is one leads me to suspect that there may be more.

Two of my stories have been plagiarised

1. A Perfect Car.  Posted twice, each time with a different title and video. Both have been reported

2 Goldstein, Johnson and Cole. The first four chapters have been posted each with a different title and separate video. Each one has been reported.

If anyone spots any more please let me know.

Also one of cognac69's (my late father) has been posted

Edward Langford House. This has also been posted twice, each time with a different title and video. Both have been reported, although written by cognac69 the copyright has passed to me, I hope YouTube takes notice

Please add links to the plagiarized content and to the author content here on GA. One author per post, please, don't mix them so it's easier for me to keep track. I am GA's registered DMCA Agent so I can issue takedown notices on behalf of authors no longer on GA. I'll repeat this here, for everyone. I use my personal information (name/address) on the DMCA notice, so that is why I sometimes take a little more time to make sure is NOT the author who held the copyright who posted on GA. We do not release any author's legal name or address, even if we had that.

I have just received a reply to an email I sent to the YouTube user earlier today. He claims to have been 'misled'. @Cia would it be helpful if I post this reply in the copyright club, your advice would be appreciated.

I will still be requesting a 'takedown' of my content.

The reply I got claimed that he had employed freelancers to supply the content (I believe this to be bullshit as he claims them to be his stories and credits no-one) and has been misled by them. He goes on to ask for a 'solution', in other words he wants to carry on posting my stories as his own, there is only one solution, stop posting my hard work he doesn't have my agreement or permission.

I will be replying with my answer in very clear terms.

My content is now slowly being removed after a not very pleasant exchange of emails. 

If any other authors want to contact him direct his email is unitedforreason@gmail.com emailing direct is slowly receiving results.

He is using the name Dean Cooper but his real name is Nadeem Ali

All of the content that I reported has now been removed, that includes the story by cognac69. 

I suggest that authors report copyright violation using the YouTube DMCA form and email the scumbag directly as @kbois and I have done. If you keep up the pressure he will remove your content.

Heard back from YouTube. My video has been taken down. 

Regardless, keep those DMCAs coming, people. This is someone deliberately stealing from our community.

Side note, just got an email from Dean (channel owner), apologizing for his actions. He even kindly asked me to remove the copyright strike...
