I got lucky with my guesses, as I haven't read as much yet. But there were some that I had ignored my gut feeling on and if I listened to my first guess, I would have actually gotten correct.

Always go with your gut!!

I've already edited my story again so when I get control of it, I have changes to make. That's the problem with having too many version of the same story, I forgot to merge a few things together.

Also too much work. Once they are posted they are as they are for me. Unless someone points out an error...like a missing quotation mark or some other silly thing. But that's just me.

I guessed but didn't post, sorry!  I know it's no excuse. I got 2 right and should have known a 3rd.   I'll go sit in the naughty corner.

You don't need to sit in the corner. There was no requirement to post your guesses.  :)

I hope you guess next time. I guessed and I barely read anything of the author list until these last few weeks. I will in the next upcoming weeks, but still. No shame in tossing your guesses in the ring.

I've got a change or two to make to my story, most importantly removing a duplicated paragraph! I don't know how I let that get through.

OK, so it'd be more like you both are too feverish to write out the chapter and tell me what to do and I'd BS everything in between. But we have similar tastes in drama and humor. It'd be fine, no one would know.

Don't offer that until you read what my new story is actually about.

I re-wrote my story seven times, and that's before I let an editor even look at it. My current story, about 180K words, has been re-written six times from start to finish. I'm compulsive.

Taking notes for my own story: Be aware of a possible rewrite of seven times might occur...

Look at y'all working on stories.  I guess I should try to dust off my "in progress" folder and see if anyone wants to start talking to me.  🤔

That only occurs when you are not a good writer. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I've got lots of ideas and numerous unfinished projects, but I'm unsure where to start. It may end up being a lucky dip, lol. :gikkle:

No, the two of us are spreadsheet kind of people. Rewriting's totally going to happen as I try to keep track. I already confused one character name twice already and I was the one that named him. 🤣 My subconscious keeps trying to change Orion to Oscar. Also, I highly object that 'not a good writer.' Yours was one of my favorite stories of this event and the sneak peeks I read in your author profile while guessing were all excellent.

Don't feel bad.  I've read multiple authors that have done that and used a name that wasn't a character.  It just took me a second as a reader to say WTF, and then I figured out what he really wanted to say.   It was all good.  :2thumbs:

Lies. Rewrites happen at any time for any reason. Nothing to do with writing skill. Everyone just has a different pace. How dare you insinuate you're not a good writer when yours was the story I voted for?

I don't have sneak peaks in my author profile. Maybe you are confusing me with a better writer!! :)

By sneak peeks I meant that I snuck peeks at some of your older work since I haven't fully read them all yet.

Oh man, all you have to do is read my first story on this site, The Price of Honor. I leave it up to point out to new authors because objectively it's a decent storyline... subjectively, it's a trainwreck. What I know now? OMG. I I'd love to slash it to pieces and redo it ALL.

How do I know it's so awful? I wrote more. Rewrote even more than that. On top of that, I went through the eBook publishing process for myself and with several publishing houses. The name of the game is write, rewrite, edit, delete, rewrite, edit, delete, rewrite, edit, proof, proof, proof... I usually hated my stories by the time they turned into eBooks. LOL

No wonder we authors are crazy!!

Hahah, thank you!  I'm saying the worse writer you are the more re-writes you need to get it decent. With the pace of which I write, about four thousand words a day,  if I was better, I'd have so many stories ready to post. But alas, it takes me longer than most.
