Ultimately, I went with the story I felt fit the theme the most in terms of, well, hiding.

Authors shouldn't be allowed to vote. If we all vote for ourselves it just cancels them all out. But I guess there's no way of blocking it.

All stories would have at least 1 vote, if author's vote for there own. So it wouldn't make much difference to the end result.

I just want to go on record to say that I voted for a story that was not mine.  Because it was better written, and I can accept that.  I have something to aspire to.
