So glad you got some sleep! I nodded off around 930, was awake by 10 and finally fell asleep again around 1230. I think I only woke up once or twice until the dreaded alarm went off at 530.

Looking at forecast for uk next week it looks like rain, rain and more rain. ☔️

I was just outside to bring in the bins as it’s recycle day. The air was cool with a lovely breeze and some clouds keeping the hot sun hidden. 

I hope your weather is the same as it is so nice I’m heading out for a walk right now.

I do love towing for peeps that know what they are doing! 

We're about 20 min behind schedule loading, but I build in fudge factors for just such emergencies as the freshly bathed white pony that rolled in his own manure sometime between last night check @ .midnmimidnight and 6 am finish the last min packing time.

Every horse walked right on, every horse paid for before loading. And @ the show 20 minutes earlier than planned! Did not need all the fudge time I allowed!

It was very sunny and warm when i ventured out, but it's super cloudy now. Maybe it will stay that way until dog walking time.    But i'm not complaining. It's better than 98.

Arrive @ todays show, admittedly about 15 minutes earlier than we planned. I allowed more fudge factor time to get around the construction zone than needed.

Go to pull in and the gate is padlocked.

Seems the horse owner forgot to ask about arriving so early. Since first ride time is 2 pm they figured open everything  around 1. Then i show up @ 12...

Better to be early with full payments in advance, than too late with no prepaid transactions. I guess that assuming that clients know all the actual important details, is a total risk with some of them.

Countdown has started to our September road trip. There were so many admin things to do: car insurance for UK, enough treats for dogs, printing bookings etc etc.  after two months of heatwaves the rain will be welcome… ok not really.
will try to upload some snaps of the girls as they charm the French…….

tim, i'll bet the sweater looks fabulous 👌 

here, the laundry & dishwasher have been started, green chile beef in one crock pot, pinto beans in the other. not baking bread today. my fave booth at the farmers market had beautiful purple onions, so i'll do some pickling of those later. right now, i'm sitting with a latte and some toast reading.

I'm envious of your "girls" and the travels they get to experience with you, all around Europe! You two are such concerned and very patient parents.    Would love seeing some family travel photos❣️

Here still reaching 35°, or more on balcony.   Looks like rain once we cross the Loire and head towards Calais.  Dogs’ raincoats are packed!!!!

I love driving in Europe.  The moment we cross the frontier into France I’m happiness personified.  French drivers are so much more considerate, and, amazingly, their cars have indicators….. unlike the Spanish….  
 

Sadly, with the dogs we have a time limit to get to the Channel Tunnel. Entry to UK and Ireland is really strict. Last year one dog was denied entry for a veterinary error 😱

For next year we are looking at going as far as Denmark or even Norway…

You can drive on the Autobahn  next year..  I like letting a ferry carry the car 😅
