Tristan's High School Life - 15. Chapter 15

TJ’s point of

“Kevin what are you doing?” I asked while Tristan seemed shocked to see his father alive

“Taking away everything he loves” Kevin replied pointing at Tristan

When I figured out who was behind everything I can’t really say I was surprised as everything started to add up.

“Kevin can we work something out?” I asked trying to make things easier

“Not until Tristan pays for everything” Kevin said and then vanished

“Darn I thought I could hold him longer” Hunter said gasping for air

“Are you ok?” I asked rushing to his side

“What miracles or talents he has, took a lot out of him” Damian said making room for Hunter to sit

“Thanks Damian” Hunter replied sitting down

“Tristan if you didn’t get those recordings I wouldn’t have known who was behind this and I didn’t have time to warn anyone” I said

“How is it that you could see them on the recordings but I couldn’t” Tristan asked

“Well you thought your parents were dead so you saw what your brain wanted to see and I had a suspicion they faked their deaths and saw what really happened. I also may have time traveled and saw everything happen” I said nervously

“Dad you can time travel?” Mattie excitedly asked

“You can’t?” Hunter skeptically asked

“You can too?” I said puzzled

“Yeah I can and I can change things too” Hunter said smugly

“No frickin way” Tristan exclaimed

“Yeah there are a few things I’d like to change but sometimes there are consequences” Hunter told us

“Dad why is he stronger than us?” Jamie questioned

“I really don’t know the answer to that” I said “We need to figure out what is going on and where Grandma is”

“Well I don’t think it was Emma I killed” Hunter said softly

“What do you mean?” I asked curiously

“It could have been but I swear that a man’s face appeared right before I blew it up” Hunter said

“Did he look anything like this” I asked as I held up a picture of Bob

“Yeah it did” Hunter replied

“Just as I thought it was Bob” I said and I could tell the kids had recognition of the name “We lived with him for a bit in Pennsylvania”

“Yeah and he’s my grandfather and TJ’s Uncle” Tristan said

“We are going to need to figure out how to end this” I said

“Oh definitely but first Jackson and I need to get out of here and we need to find Grandma and Emma” Tristan said

I decided to go and check on Jackson and took Hunter with me

“Do you thing” I said and watched Hunter check him

“It’s Daddy” Hunter said smiling “He must sense you’re here”

“What do you mean?” I asked

“He’s got a circus tent” Hunter said giggling

“Seriously” I said shocked but Hunter was right

“I’m going to go back to the apartment.” Hunter said giving me a hug before he vanished

“Babe really pitching a tent in front of our son” I said telepathically

“Sorry” he replied

“I need you to wake up as we need your help” I replied

“I need rest this was the real deal” he said sadly

“What?” I said falling into the chair

“Yeah I overheard the doctor and they said it was real serious” he replied

“I want a second opinion” I said sternly about the same time a doctor came in

“Ah Mr. Michaels I presume” the doctor said sticking out his hand

“Yes and you are?” I questioned

“I am Dr. Hendricks, Jackson’s cardiologist” he replied looking serious

“I see” I said

“Now your husband suffered a myocardial infarction” he said shift papers “which I normally don’t see in someone his age”

“A what?” I said confused

“In laymen terms a heart attack caused by a blockage” the Doctor said which had me shocked and I started to shake from nerves

“Is he going to be ok?” I asked

“With rest and improved diet, he should recover” the Doctor said

“We usually eat really healthy” I said confused

“This could have been years in the making but does he have a stressful job?” he asked

“He was a full time dad but just started getting back to work teaching a couple of dance classes and was” I said started to say and broke down crying

I felt someone embrace me and found Jamie and Mattie clinging to me.

“Are you ok dad?” Jamie asked

“Obviously he isn’t he’s crying” Mattie scolded his brother

“I’m going to give you a few minutes and I’ll come back” Dr. Hendricks said

“Could you go get your great-grandparents and Grandpa Jack” I asked of the boys

“I’ll go and Jamie you can stay” Mattie said and vanished

“It will be ok dad, daddy is very strong” Jamie said rubbing my back

We sat in silence while the machines beeped and my tears kept coming.

“What’s wrong TJ” Jack said coming into the room but stopped when he saw the tears

“He had a heart attack” I squeaked out

“Oh my poor boy” Jack said coming over

“They said there was a blockage and there could be stress” I said between tears

Jack pulled me into a hug and told me it would be alright and that we have a support system that will help.

Tristan’s POV

Not being upstairs I knew exactly what was going on and it made me extremely angry. I knew deep down my dad’s had something to do with this; maybe they knew Jackson was at risk.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Damian asked

“I can’t believe my dads; they are behind everything going on and I need to stop them” I said clenching my fists causing my blood pressure to rise and the nurse ran in as the machine started to beep

“Young man you need to calm down” she said

“Just breathe Tristan” Damian said

“Listen to your friend or I’ll have to sedate you” the nurse said

Something felt off and I channeled Hunter and I saw a flash outside the door and Hunter walked in and looked the nurse up and down

“Step away from my brother” he growled

“Who are you?” the nurse asked

“Your worst enemy” he replied and without warning he started to glow and revealed that it wasn’t a nurse

“Dad” I said looking at Jeff

“Seems that I’ve met my match” Jeff said turning facing Hunter but he didn’t see Jamie, Mattie and Katie appear

“You wish” Jamie said causing dad to spin around that he didn’t see what hit him as he fell to floor

“Dad” Hunter said telepathically “We need you”

“What’s up” TJ said appearing not noticing dad on the floor

“Hunter caught one” Mattie said beaming

“Caught one what?” TJ asked

“For goodness sakes dad look at the floor” Jamie said rolling his eyes

“Oh god Jeff” TJ shrieked

“He got around our protection” Mattie said

“He wanted to sedate Tristan” Damian interjected

“He wanted to what?” TJ said looking at the syringe in Jeff’s hand

“Ok we need to detain him somehow” Katie said looking around the room

“I got an idea” Hunter said “Something I’ve read about but haven’t done yet”

We watched in awe ad he lifted my dad off the floor and he started to spin in a circle getting smaller and smaller each time and eventually stopped and hoovering in the spot that he lay was a glass ball.

“It worked” Hunter shouted

“What did you do?” I asked mystified by what happened

“I read in this book I found about trapping people in glass balls” Hunter said

“What book are you reading?” TJ asked worriedly

“I can show you later but he can’t get out unless I let him out. Anytime the glass is broken by anyone but me it reforms thicker and thicker each time. If it gets too thick he’ll be stuck in there forever” Hunter said

Everyone in the room was looking at Hunter and he just shrugged and picked up the ball

I stayed in the hospital for a few days under observation and TJ split his time between my room and Jackson’s. They still had him in a coma and TJ was on pins and needles the whole time. I spent time talking with Damian and he apologized for how he acted at the end of the summer.

“I do love you Tristan” Damian said

“I found someone else” I replied thinking of Justin

“I get it; I was a jerk” Damian said halfheartedly

“You were definitely a jerk” I smirked

“So tell me about Justin” he said

I went on to tell him all about Justin and saved for the end that he had an identical twin

“He’s got a twin? Any chance he’s gay?” Damian said hopefully

“He is but dude you live in Minnesota” I replied

“I can teleport just like you can” he retorted

“True but what would your mom say?” I asked

“When she found out about Jackson she and Uncle Jack had a really long talk and I think she’s considering moving closer.” Damian replied

“Really?” I asked

“Yeah something about being closer to family and maybe even finding a place where the great grandparents can move in with us” he said

“I know this has been ripping a lot of people up” I said teary eyed “When Grandpa Tracy was here it just broke my heart seeing him and Grandpa Jack crying”

“Yeah” he said softly

“Beau, Grayson, Trace and Lucas were here too and it was so sad” I said gloomily “I’m getting out today and I am dreading leaving Jackson and TJ behind”

“I heard and I know my parents are coming here to help” Damian said

“Yeah Grandpa Tracy is going to take care of us at home” I replied

“What did you decide about for school?” he asked

“To make things easier I am going to have a personal tutor at home. That way I can be there when the rugrats get home” I replied

“Rugrats?” he asked tilting his head

“Yeah TJ and Jackson’s kids and my brothers; I love them to death” I said “but don’t tell them”

“We know” Mattie said giggling coming into the room

“What are you doing here” I asked

“We all came to see Daddy” Mattie replied “I decided to come down here”

“Come here” I said patting the bed next to me and Mattie jumped up and I felt the tears

“You ok brother?” I asked rubbing his back

“Dad is having a doctor from New York come see daddy and see if we can’t move him closer” Mattie said through tears

“It’s going to be ok” I said

Kevin’s POV

“You’re going to help me beat that kid” I said angrily

“Over my dead body” CC growled

“That can be arranged” I said cockily

“You are just a sad sack of a person” Emma said

“And you’re just a burnt out flake” I retorted

“You will help or you’ll meet the same fate as your husband” I said to CC

“What a pedophile?” CC retorted

“DEAD” I forcefully replied

“Where the hell is Jeff he should be back by now” I said pacing the room

“I told you it wouldn’t work” CC said

Hunter’s POV

While the man was yelling at grandma and that other lady he failed to notice me arrive. Boy is he in for a surprise.
