Brandon Smiling: From the Billy Chase Chronicles (2) - 6. Entry 6
Saturday
Well, I had a visit from Bobby today.
I thought I was going to have a boring kind of day and, in a way, I did, but it’s funny that a routine Saturday can be made more fun with company ‘helping’.
Bobby just came by to hang out with me. That was nice! My Dad was working again so I had the place to myself and, to be honest, I was feeling a bit lonely. I chalk it up to having so much going on lately that having a weekend with nothing going on feels weird as does being completely alone!
Being alone can, sometimes, be a bad thing, you know? It allows you to start thinking too much and when your thinker starts thinking of bad things, it’s hard to distract it from doing anything else!
I have Billy to worry about, and my weird new ‘friendship’ with Benji, and if my Dad is working too hard, and if I’m going to fail trigonometry…all these things pile up and weigh on a person that has nothing else to do but think! That must be what prison is like! Sitting around and thinking about how bad you have become! That’s pretty horrible!
So, I rather appreciated Bobby’s company. He’s very…up! He seems to be a big bundle of positive energy and I needed that today.
I had to excuse myself with him that I had chores to do. Things in the back yard, mostly. Pulling weeds, tending to the new vegetable garden, trimming the hedges a bit, that sort of thing. Well, Bobby actually helped me out with this and did it like he knew what he was doing! How about that! I suppose, that’s what a friend does!
What is more is that with two guys on the job, the chores were done in half the time. That left more ‘open’ time for stuff. After hemming and hawing about what to do, I mentioned, possibly, getting Bobby hooked up with World of Warcraft and I could partner with him. I always like showing new players around Azeroth! Luckily, Bobby had gotten the game for Christmas, but hadn’t had the time or courage to try it. He was a bit confused as to how he could build a character on my computer and still be able to play it. I told him that the Blizzard Server saves his character so, if he logs in to his instance of World Of Warcraft at home then he’ll be able to pull of his character and the last place he was when he left the game at my place. He’d never played a Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing game before so we were excited to try. I decided to roll an alternate character just so we could level up together. My primary is up to 100 already!
Well, we spent hours leveling! I half-expected Cedrick and Franc to come on so I could introduce Bobby to them, but they must have been busy. Then, stupid me, I remembered that they’re half-way around the world and probably in bed fast asleep! So, Bobby and I had a lot of fun today.
I hope it doesn’t make Billy jealous, but I just couldn’t get him involved with World Of Warcraft because he couldn’t have gone very far in it without a subscription. Maybe, I could, just not talk about our gaming sessions with Billy! I don’t want to risk Billy’s losing interest in me over some stupid game. Bobby’s great to play with…but, he’s not ‘life-mate’ material. I got that from an old comic book Sher read to me after my Mom died called Elf-something. ‘Life-mates’ don’t necessarily need to be lovers, but they do become best friends and family for life! She told me that’s what we were to each other: ‘Life-mates’ forever! Since then, that idea has given me a lot of comfort.
That’s what I want with Billy - if not an actual ‘soul-mate’ then a ‘life-mate’. A BFF (Best Friends Forever) kind of thing! I don’t necessarily see that happening with Bobby or Benji. I’m not sure yet with Stevie. Possibly. Certainly with Cedrick who I call ‘my brother from another - PLANET’, hehehe! Franc, maybe…but, I don’t know him very well yet, actually.
It’s weird I should think about that old elf comic book, though, and Bobby should want to pick a ‘Void Elf’ to be his character. He said he did it because he liked the model…
…yeah, that model has a nice butt. I can see where he and Bobby share something of one another’s. Hehehe!
So I played host to another world for Bobby today and well into the evening until my Dad got home. Bobby even stayed for supper, which was our usual takeout Chinese. My Dad always over-orders so there was plenty and then some. We even made Bobby take home a doggy-bag for his folks.
Before he left, Bobby invited me over to his place sometime next week. I told him I would if school didn’t keep me too busy.
Such was my Saturday.
This is Brandon, Void-Elf Shadow Priestess (I rolled a female character, hehehe!)
Sunday
So, I heard from Chandler today!
He’s having such a blast in LA! I can only imagine!
I asked him how many movie deals he has already and he gave me a math problem to do:
“What does 0 X 0 = ” Hehehe!
“Well, they just don’t know good talent when they see it!” I said…probably with more feeling than I should have.
“Meh. I love what I’m doing right now. Why get mixed up in all the tinsel, hype, and fakeness that is Hollywood! If you read and believe the tabloids, being a famous movie star sucks! I’ve not seen one that doesn’t end up in a vicious divorce, lawsuit, drug problem, or plastic surgery mishap! Some of those results are, like, yikes!” He assured me.
“I will say that your photo is going over big in the Wiltshire Gallery Of Photographic Arts! It’s a small gallery in Santa Monica, but it gets a lot of foot traffic since it’s on the main drag. They put it in the window!” Chandler sounded so excited by that! I was too! Our picture, hanging in the window of a gallery in Santa Monica, CA - wherever that is!
“The owner of the Gallery is this really nice fellow! Handsome too! He has ‘California’ written all over him - shorts and t-shirts all the time and his wife is a hoot. Her name is Gabriel and she’s from Rio De Janeiro! She must be 6” because she can look me right in the eye no problem! She even asked ‘Who is the Brandon? What is he to do with here?’ So now you are The Brandon! Hehehe! I told them you were a dear friend that helped me with the photo. A very smart and talented young man…” Chandler said with a tenderness to his voice that gave me goosebumps!
“Ra-REALLY?” I had no idea my name would come up in any conversations, but then I guess the name of the picture would need some explaining. I’m still all, like, can’t even deal with what Chandler said. ‘A very smart and talented young man…’
Maybe I’ll be getting the movie deal?
He couldn’t stay on the phone very long since he had a party to go to! I can only imagine what a party in LA must be like! I bet he meets a celebrity! I bet, I bet! I also bet he’ll get a modeling deal or a TV show/ad deal of some kind! He’s just too beautiful to be passed up!
I mean, I know LA is supposedly the land of The Beautiful People, but…lets be honest, no guy can match Chandler in looks! He’s perfect!
The only one more than perfect is Billy…
~Sigh~ I wanted to call him tonight. I felt, almost, like he needed me to call him, but I chickened out.
I need to stop being a chicken about this or I’ll never have any kind of relationship with Billy, friend or otherwise! My uncle always tells me to ‘go with my gut’ on things.
I had a ‘gut’ feeling Billy needed someone to talk to tonight, but I’ve missed the opportunity. School is tomorrow and, right now, it is already past 10 PM. He might still be up, but I can’t imagine his folks would appreciate me calling at all hours of the night just to talk, you know?
I’ll just need to take this up tomorrow with Billy. Hopefully, I get the opportunity.
This is The Brandon, chickening out once again despite being ‘smart and talented’.
