Falls Creek Lessons - Links - 193. Chapter 193

[Dan Cronin]

Oh, shit.

I’ve just realised exactly how careful I have to be. Greg’s just told me that I’m the first person he’s told. From the way he’s standing there, I’m guessing he’s also a virgin. He doesn’t have the faintest idea of what to do, or what to say.

If I move too fast, I may scare him off. If I move too slow, he might get frustrated, and go looking elsewhere. I have to judge this exactly right. How I’m going to do that is something I just don’t know. All I can to do is to trust my instincts, and hope I learn to read Greg pretty damned fast.

From the way he went off at Paul earlier, he can be touchy if he thinks people are manipulative or controlling. But that is precisely what I’m going to have to do. I have to control our relationship until it reaches a point where Greg is confident and able to stand on his own two feet. At the moment, he looks like he’s drowning in uncertainty.

Honesty is going to have to be the key. I have to tell him what I’m doing, and why. That way he can tell me if I’m making a mistake. I just hope he’ll be honest back, and let me know. If he bottles it up instead, I will have blown it, big time.
