Falls Creek Lessons - Links - 18. Chapter 18

[Rob Skitter]

Greg seems to be making an effort to get to know Chris and Paul better. As long as he’s in the front seat by himself, he almost seems relaxed. Maybe he’s not homophobic after all.

Now I just need to work out how to dump him once it’s time to start skiing. When I whispered the suggestion of just telling him to join the Ski School for lessons, Diane vetoed it immediately. It seems she doesn’t want to feel that she’s abandoning Greg, since she’s the one who’d invited him in the first place. She also pointed out that she’s still learning too, and she’s not that far from being a beginner. I don’t think she realises how far she’s come from those early few days.

I’d love to pass him on for Chris to teach him, but I don’t think I’ll get away with that. It’ll be fun to watch, but I don’t want to take another risk of ruining their weekend. Just because I had other plans, doesn’t mean I should drag them into it too.

Next time I’m going to have to put my foot down and insist that Greg doesn’t come. Of course, she’ll just look up at me with those big hazel eyes of hers, and she’ll have me changing my mind in no time. There are times I just can’t win.
