Falls Creek Lessons - Links - 215. Chapter 215

[Chris Everington]

This is certainly a day to remember.

First, the morning phone call from Rob, telling me to get over here as soon as I could. Once I was at his parents’ house, he and Diane told us the news, and Rob asked me to be his best man.

Now, Greg comes out to us, and announces Dan’s his boyfriend. This puts everything that has gone on in a completely new perspective. Were the vibes that Paul had been picking up earlier just those of a young man deep in the closet, rather than someone who’d been molested in the past? Given what I see before me, I think Paul’s wrong on this one. Greg looks too comfortable and confident.

Will this help Paul? He’s been obsessed with Dan and Greg, and he’s just taken a big shock. The last week has shown that he’s still got a lot of healing to go, but getting it out in the open just might be what’s needed to help that along.

If that is the case, I owe a debt of gratitude to both Greg and Dan. It’s been painful watching Paul descend into hatred, but if it clears some of the angst he’s been hiding, then it’s been worthwhile. Paul has a lot more to discuss with his counsellor, now.

In the meantime, I think they make a great looking couple. I’m really happy for both of them.
