I think I’ll have one, maybe two more beers. Then I’m going to have to switch over to coffee. I can’t afford to be totally drunk when it’s time to leave. These are the sorts of conditions where people can get lost in the snow.

I’ve got a responsibility to make sure Greg stays safe. I’m the host, and the one who knows the mountain. If I’m sober, or only mildly drunk, I can get Greg back. Otherwise, he needs to stay here.
