Have I blown Dan’s cover already?

While I usually run roughshod over him, I saw Dan lose his temper once last year. Some young towie he was working with had stuffed up one of the lift engines by doing something really stupid. I can’t remember what it was, but I can’t forget what happened at the Frying Pan at lunch that day.

Dan ripped into him with a verbal assault that reduced the poor kid to tears. He was left with practically no dignity whatsoever, as Dan detailed in fine and precise detail every single fault the kid had and every mistake he’d ever made.

Dan apologised later the same day, but the kid quit and left the mountain soon after. He’d been humiliated in front of so many people in the lunchroom that he just couldn’t stay.

While I’m a lot more thick-skinned than a baby-faced kid barely past toddlerhood, Dan knows enough to skewer me if he wants to. I don’t want him to lose his temper at me, and he’d made it quite clear that Garret and I were not to tell Greg that Dan’s gay.
