Just another day in the land of Michael!

I don't do it for the money.   I don't do it for the benefits.   I don't do it because I'm forced too.   I do it because it's something I love.   I do it because it's something I'm good at.   I do it because even though I'm not working that day I still seem to be there just hanging out, because I love the place.   I do it because I can wake up every morning and say I love my job, even at the hardest times, because it's me doing something I love. How many of you can say you do that? I

Lies they tell you to keep you from eating a bullet

It'll get better..   Oh really? How is that supposed to happen? When you've seen dream after dream go up in smoke. Everything you care about is gone. Everyone you care about is dead. How is it f-ing supposed to get any better.   Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem...   A temporary problem? I've had to fight every f-ing day of my whole life for the right to exist. How is that a temporary problem.   You've got so much to live for..   You can f-ing have it.   Life is

Dear Red States....

Dear Red States: We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes California,Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of NewUSA. To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best bea

Evil

Why fight it.   I'm evil. I'm a bastard. Your suffering makes me laugh.   I stomp the brains out of puppies and kittens. I push old ladies into traffic.   I think starvation in Eithopia is a hoot because there is no food there and the f-ing idiots hang around waiting for it to show up.   I like wars because they test my latest technologies and the lame f-kers don' survive.   I say nuke the f-ing whales. What did they ever do for anybody?   I eat beef and punch vegatarians because th

A little entry

Let's see:   I am still not employed yet; most likely I will do part-time work during tax season, if I do not find a good company to work for. Lucky for me, this year's taxes will leave a lot of people asking questions and I can pretty much show them a way through the economic downturn. Not high paying work as I could on the corporate side, but I got to make a living, hehe!   I am still lonely, which most likely will not change anytime soon. Am I too picky in the men I like?   No, but I

Why Obama is going to betray gay voters

Most of you were children when Clinton ran the country with trial balloons and focus groups.   You probably remember Bill Clinton as a guy who played the sax on MTV, liked to get hummers from interns, got in trouble for getting spoo on a blue dress and was married to that horrible b*tch senator from New York. The same one who was just thrown under the democratic primary bus by the failed President Elect Barry O'bumble.   You are probably too young to remember how Clinton betrayed gay voters

Why you are going to miss George Bush

Yep. That's right. You are going to miss him.     Fat chance.     You will miss him. Just give it time.     I sincerely doubt it but you are welcome to try to defend King George.   Oh no- I'm not going to try to defend him. In many ways his generally incoherent style of public speaking made him one of the most ineffective presidents in living memory because he simply failed to explain his policies.     Don't you mean the worst in history?   No. I'm older than most of you and re

Good People

They do exist.   They bloom in soil you have long thought infertile.   It's no secret that I can not count a majority of the members of my family in that column, for now, but I was surprised to learn of a change of heart on the part of one family member whom I value.   He has long been homophobic, even paranoid of a sort. It seems however, slow integration, and realization, has tempered his fear and misunderstanding. I can not attest to the process being complete, but he is thankful for m

The Sickness II

http://rodonline.typepad.com/rodonline/200...d-and-raci.html   Back in 2007, when Jerry Falwell died, I made an entry titled The Sickness, which is exactly what I saw in the gloating and seething hatred that reared its ugly head in the gay community. Unfortunately, I'm seeing it again.   When the voters of California passed prop 8, I was disapointed and saddened, but I was also grateful that the laws of that state have no bearing on the laws in states that do allow gay marriage. That's the

Heading into my bunker

I've been lame and not updating this thing, I know. I have been writing a little, but its mostly military science fiction (also what I've been reading), so I can't see that going over too well over here. The characters aren't Gay, in any case.   Actually, last week I wrote a story for the sole and express purpose of using the phrase, "Tracking just nailed the ID. Coming up...ah, crap! It's the Shittin' Kitten."   Last Tuesday more or less blew. I'd still rather Ms. Clinton had been the one t

Infusion Pump Update

It's been awhile since my last entry so I'm doing one in response to a recent post in Shadowgods forum and a pm. I told the sender in a reply, this would make a good blog entry and I'd try to have it up some time today.   A question to the readers was asked, didn't the description of Jonathan shooting up creep you out? I replied with this, Some it would bother, but not me. When you check your blood sugar six times daily and then give yourself injections, you can get used to it.   You can get

The Edu-Nazi Strikes Back!

Beh.... So I did worse then I had anticipated. Somewhere around the D mark on Friday.   To be honest I am at that point where I just want to give the whole school thing my middle finger and be done with it. Meh... I'm frustrated that it is taking so long... I'm frustrated that its gonna take even longer. I'm suffering from a whole Veruca Salt moment. That whole "I want it now!" thing. Hopefully this character lapse doesn't make me a bad nut... its just. Yeah.   I dropped the Math class caus

My next year

Dan and I went to Stanford on Friday and came out of it with a TON of information and things that we now have to consider and start planning for.   The thumbnail sketch of my next year is basically:   Finish chemo. I actually start my next round in the hospital tomorrow and it should last 4 days, 5 at the most so will be home on Friday. Then continuing on a schedule of two weeks home, one week in. Dr Spears thinks that I'll only need to do 3 cycles in total, so that would end sometime in la

Eden, ID

Moving right along, I'll still have one more night on the road, probably up near Hermiston, OR. This is a familiar route, one I've been doing since coming back to the company.   There are alternatives, but those loads don't seem to be coming my way. I have yet to take a load into the LA area. I kind of like running up I-5; of course, now with the idling ban it wouldn't be so much fun, but there are alternatives going that way, too.   For the past couple days I've been trying to come to terms

I got a crazy science idea against prop 8

"Marriage is defined as a union between One Man and One Woman"   Well, I have an interesting concept, how do you define man and woman?   If you apply sexual organs, then what if the guy lost his balls due to an accident? What if the woman is infertile due to a genetic condition? Would they still be denied the right to marry base on this law? Get the lawyers on the case and we can have some fun if the proponents try to argue against a woman, who has lost her ability to reproduce, from marryin

Changing Lanes (and no I don't mean the story per se)

Yes, it's a good title for a story, and it's what I am doing. It's time to put plans into action. I can have a better life for myself, one with reduced stress and more pleasure. I have come across a business opportunity, and I am going to take it. Tomorrow night could very well change my life forever.   Lately I have not felt any inspiration to write. I don't know what it is, but it's just not what belongs on my plate right now. Hopefully that will change soon, because I do want to finish a s

"And the reason is you...."

Alright so because I didn’t explain it before and I’m sick of people bugging me about it, I figure I’ll post what happened here so you can all get your fill and stop asking me. Part of me didn’t want to post something like this because it had the potential to be somewhat negative and I was trying to stay positive about the whole situation. Well f**K that. I’m pissed so here goes nothing.   I’ll start by posting the letter I wrote to him making it official that we broke up. This isn’t word for

Hedley, TX

If you're ever travelling US-287 between Amarillo and Witchita Falls, Texas, be sure to stop at one of these rest areas. Not only do they give you a really nice place to relieve those uncomfortable physiological urges, they're kind of interesting, too.   I could've written about Hedley, but with 379 people, there isn't a whole lot to say. It had it's heyday, but decline set in back in the 1950s and much of the focus in the area has been toward the larger cities in the area; Memphis to the east

Some stuff for today

Today, I went in for another interview at another regional accounting firm.   They were a nice firm and pretty decent decor. I got to talk to the managing partner, aka. the Boss of the local office. I can tell you the guy had a worn out look in his face; slightly old and a bit battered. He had been at the firm after the Arthur Andersen collapsed. He was a decent guy and a really nice human being.   We went through the stages and talked about my work experience as an intern and my specialties
