Carlos Hazday Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 So I have a question for anyone who follows this thread. I've removed all tags from the 5 CJ stories and kept only the Drama genre there because the system requires at least one. Those two things always drive me nuts, I'm never sure what to use. I'd like your help. Your suggestions of genres and/or tags for each of the stories or general ones for all of them as a group would be welcome. Maybe by asking the readers how they'd categorize the stories, I'll be able to figure it out.
wenmale64 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Carlos, To me your stories are mostly 'coming of age' but also fit young adult and others. I guess it would be best to include the major ones that fit and maby simply include a little more info to the story notes. I find the descriptions and story notes much more informative than the genre tags. With this in mind, when I search only the catagory fits my lookup (coming of age, young adult, mature etc...). I do not care about the sex part in the story. If the story is well written (as your are) the sexual bits are simply extra dressing for the salad. Just my thoughts, your milage may vary. Rob 1

Rob Thanks for the praise, Rob. I think I can live with a coming of age tag. I haven't been happy with the teen label because, although the the MC's one, I'm using teens as a tool to explore adult themes. Much like Orson Scott Card did in Ender's Game. An no I'm not comparing my skills to his. lol Travels will end after two more chapters and I want to settle on a few tags which can be used consistently, allowing for one or two variations when appropriate. Like taggin the books with trips to Oz with Australai. I appreciate the feedback.
Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted November 7, 2016 Site Moderator Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) Story Tags - I looked at the tags list under the stories tab. Didn't find one or two I was thinking of so maybe they can be added manually? my picks young adult, teen, high school (since most of the characters are high school age), coming of age, friendship(s), parents, family, brothers I'll let you know if I think of some more options. Carlos Hazday Posted November 7, 2016 Author Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) I like family a lot but I don't think it's an option. I also like urban. The story takes place in a large metropolitan area, okay Miami and NYC would make that 3, and the attitudes and experiences of living in a city are very different than in a small town. I've had a few comments about some of my situations not being something they can relate to from folks in rural areas. Edited November 8, 2016 by Carlos Hazday 2

dughlas Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 In honesty, I don't usually bother with the tags. With that in mind ... urban and coming of age make sense to me. 1
