Hate that you had to go through all of that today. Definitely not fun. Ask about tamsulosin (Flomax) before you consider any surgery. It relaxes the muscles and helps you empty get your bladder more completely. Side effect is that it'll probably make you congested. Complain about it (the congestion) and say you want generic Cialis in a low dose.  It will do the same thing and then some. Your husband to be will be happy. 😉

Tried Flomax. It made me have to get up more during the night. Also had sexual side effects. Also tried another pill called Toviaz and it didn't help. As I said I'm not interested in anything that requires surgery but in the research I've done on the Urolift procedure I haven't seen hardly any bad reviews. Nothing like the possible aftereffects of surgery.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

I don't know why planners think these things work, because they don't.  I'll take a traffic light or a 4 way stop any day of the week.  Sorry about the inconvenience @kbois, but kudos on finding a different way to work.

I love traffic circles. There are only a few around the area now and all are on the more side streets but they do save a lot of time. Especially when you have 3 streets coming together a circle is always better than stop signs.

Good morning all!

Sarasota County, in all its infinite wisdom has started a major rotary/round about/traffic circle construction project at one of the biggest intersections downtown right before the start of snowbird season. They're projecting it to take 10 months (which really means 12+).

It started Tuesday and let's just say I have never seen suck an incredible clusterf#@! in my life. Tuesday they closed the northbound side, which caused a minor detour for me. Yesterday northbound was opened but someone decided that rerouting the traffic heading north, to going west over the bridge, then u-turning back, crisscrossing lanes (twice) before getting back on track, was a brilliant idea. It was like being a rat in a maze and the only prize was making it thru alive.

I have now completely changed my route to get to/from work.

Have a good day!

wonderful .. we just got told that a 200 ft section of one of our busiest downtown roads/subway stations will likely be closed for half a decade aka 5 years, due to construction.  Such fun.  i pity those who have to be down there. i don't thankfully.

Let me have a shot at changing your mind on that Ryan. Go take a couple of spins around Chevy Chase Circle during rush hour and I'm sure you'll change your mind. 😱  It's been horrible for well over 1/2 a century now. And then there's Dupont Circle. The only quick way through that quagmire is on foot. LOL

Haven't been to CC circle in ages, not generally ever in that part of DC. I do see the Dupont Circle one fairly regularly. I guess maybe, to clarify a bit, my favorite circles are those that don't have any traffic signals. Just yield signs. Not that I have any issues with Dupont, if you know where you're going it's easy enough. It's all those people that have no idea where they are going that are the issue.

Traffic circles only work when people know how to use them. Most people don't.

I commuted from Annapolis to  Arlington for almost a year when we first lived in Maryland. Straight through the heart of D.C.  Worst commute ever. Took me 6 hours to get home one night because it was snowing. Still beat NYC traffic hands down.

Cincinnati only has a few traffic roundabouts.  They are terrible, mostly because there are so few here no one knows how to use one.

We had 17 year cicadas here this summer and one of the most popular memes was a cicada "saying" be like 75 and always keep working on yourself, the joke being at least one piece has been under major construction for the last 20 years, beyond the last time they visited .

Lol.  Kind of like the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

So I just got a notification that said I had just earned the "30 Days Straight" badge.

Trust me when I tell you that hasn't happened, nor will it ever happen. 🤣

You sure? Don't want to even go for 2 days straight? LOL

the one day i come to the office and the AC is out

71% Relative Humidity; 74.4 F (23.5 C)

Right now we're in the worst stretch for heat and humidity....at least until the end of Sept/beginning of Oct. Everyday heat index is well over 100. Right now it's at 107 and it's not even the hottest part of the day.

This morning I took some petty cash and went and got a variety of ice cream novelties and Italian ice for my maintenance guys. It's brutal out there.

Glad they got the AC going for you!

My guys work hard and they often do stuff they really don't have to. I was taught that you treat people who work for you or work with you well and everyone tends to be happier.

To me spending $20 or $30 on a treat is a small price to pay to say thank you for dealing with hellacious heat!

Hope everyone else is staying cool!

If you insist!

Today I got a stark reminder that there are much, much harder jobs out there. Had to go to Aldi for some stuff. Their parking lot and the Red Lobster next door was filled with fire trucks and ambulances. The storage place behind Aldi was on fire.

I counted 12 engines and 3 ambulances. I thought 'a bit overkill maybe', as the fire wasn't blazing out of control. It didn't dawn on me until I left work and went past the actual site and saw at least 3 more ambulances, plus the Manatee County Emergency Response mobile unit..... the heat index is still well over 100. They needed to rotate a dozen crews to battle the fire. There were several firefighters being tended to by the paramedics.

I can't imagine having to battle a fire in full gear in temps over 100F. Kudos to those men and women who chose that career.

I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the day. Been battling a headache because I didn't have time to make coffee this morning and lack of caffeine hit me hard.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

When my house burned to the ground about 12 years ago [it really doesn't seem that long] it was the end of July and the heat index was over 115F -- they were rotating the firemen out every 5-10 minutes.
