Popular Post Starrynight22 Posted January 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2022 Oh good. Hello everyone. I'm doing ok. Work is so stressful. We've had a number of residents pass in 2 weeks, some from age related issues and 3 from covid. It's so exhausting. 1 6
Popular Post Ryan Jones Posted January 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2022 Things here are good. Waiting for next snow which, luckily, will be light. Assuming the forecasts are correct. Just up to 3" or so. On the coast in DE and MD beaches, over a foot. Of course a deviation of 20 miles in the track of the storm could give us a foot here in the DC area also. On a covid related note, our little town just dropped off free boxes of 20 N95 masks to every address in the town. Also early next month they'll be giving them out free in any places that gave covid booster shots. I saw something that was verified by the local news that in order to reuse the N95 masks (assuming you're not in a high risk profession) you put them in brown paper bags and that will disinfect them somehow. Let's all hope that @kbois has lots of extra clothing, it's supposed to get down to below freezing almost to southern FL. 7

My poor toes have been covered too much lately. They deserve a pedicure once it warms up again. Sunday morning should be right around the freezing mark. Glad I don't work Sundays! Stay warm everyone! 7 1

Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted January 28, 2022 Site Moderator Posted January 28, 2022 (edited) I went for a walk earlier when it was nice and sunny. Now, I’m huddled under a blanket and my nose is cold. Funny how things change when the sun goes away… I hope you all had a great day. Edited January 28, 2022 by Reader1810 3
Popular Post Wayne Gray Posted January 28, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 28, 2022 I have 61 minutes to enter some data required of us by the federal govt for a COVID-19 test distribution project. And I have a single site that has yet to send their data I had requested yesterday. If I get the data in time, it'll be a rum night. If not, it'll be a "special" muffin night washed down with some rum. 2 2 3

kbois Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 I'm currently waiting to be seated. Have a dinner date with my younger son. Latest drama at work: Had a call from a sheriff's deputy wanting information about a dispute between a buyer and seller of one of the homes in my park. The seller signed a contract with a closing date of Jan 20. A couple of days before the closing she tells her realtor she can't be out by then. Realtor says too bad, you signed a contract and the seller is ready to take possession. Seller blows up my phone for three days panicking because she has to be out of her apartment by the 20th. She has all her stuff in storage and her current place is two hours away. She just started a job here and now has to commute 2 hours in each direction because the seller won't move out. There's nothing I can do, I wasn't involved in the sale. The realtor keeps blowing up my phone because the seller and buyer are both pissed at him. Played phone tag with the deputy, there’s not much I can tell him, not my circus! I'm pretty sure the buyer has pulled out of the deal. What a mess! @Wayne Gray, can I have a muffin? 1 4

Popular Post mollyhousemouse Posted January 29, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 29, 2022 @Wayne Gray enjoy the rum & muffin and @kbois enjoy that dinner side benefit to being in a work from situation is pot roast dinner on a Friday because you can throw it in the crockpots(plural because leftovers) AND monitor your computer at the same time. i'm enjoying mine with a bourbon and coke. take care y'all 6

Popular Post kbois Posted January 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted January 30, 2022 Hope y'all are staying warm! I took the dogs for their walk and it was a balmy 35F here in Florida. I dressed as appropriately as I could, with no winter gear in my wardrobe any longer. Socks, sneakers, jeans, t-shirt, sweatshirt, zip up hoodie with hood up and knit gloves. All was good. It was brisk, but not frigid. Yesterday's 20mph+ winds had died down, only a light breeze. Off we go. It felt a little chilly, cuz let's face it, a sweatshirt and hoodie are not a winter jacket. But whatever, it was only a 20 minute walk, about a mile. Halfway around the block IT happens. Yes, the dreaded hot flash!. Here I am, in 35 degrees, sweating like I'm at the gym on the elliptic. Now, hot flashes only last a few minutes, but when they're over, the sweat is still there. I'm out in 35 degrees, in just 3 thin layers. I was shivering by the time I got home 10 minutes later. This is why coffee exists. I'm now convinced every male expert on global warming is wrong. The Industrial Revolution may have contributed, but all those baby boomer women hitting menopause in the late 1990s kicked it into high gear, and us Gen Xers are carrying the torch (literally) onward. Enjoy your Sunday! 4 3
