Popular Post MichaelS36 Posted July 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 4, 2020 Many of us have had recent celebrations of our Country's births. For some that is today. Sadly, there is a lot of history that is buried in dark places. Forgotten peoples, people who have been hurt along the way. People whose ancestors paid huge prices and people who are still downtrodden today. There is much to be proud of and much to learn from. Personally, these are days to reflect, there isn't much to cheer about. I am trying to find ways to help and to move forward. I don't think destroying statutes or ripping pages out of history books is the answer. The bad stuff, the wrong things happened. We shouldn't celebrate it, but we should learn from it. Without the past, we would not be here. Now we need to learn from history and use it to make a better future. I wish you all the best. And now, I have my own small world to worry about. Take care. 4 5

Our poor dog got a double whammy of noise. Fireworks started early so I put his thundershirt on him. He headed straight for our closet. Then a thunderstorm rolled through and as soon as it ended the fireworks started up in earnest. It's been nonstop for at least a half hour. Zeke is still in the closet, but at least he's not shaking uncontrollably like he usually does, so I guess the thundershirt is working. Here's hoping that all will remain calm everywhere this evening. 5

kbois Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 Good morning everyone! Today it's @Brayon 's turn. You've been rather quiet here lately. I hope that everything is OK. I like your enthusiasm and your determination. It's not easy maintaining the GPA that you have and juggling everyday life as well. You have a positive outlook and I can picture you going out and grabbing life by the horns and making the most of it. I hope you have a good day. 4 1

It's been hectic around the house, and school. This past class I was paired with 4 others as a learning team, with one of them in Alaska. And of course, the only time, I was able to talk to the guy in Alaska was 3AM my time. Online college is great, but damn. 1 2 1

Popular Post kbois Posted July 6, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 6, 2020 Today was quiet at work. Until 4 County Sherriff Department cruisers pulled up. Me to Boss- "wonder which one of the residents is misbehaving this time?" I go open the door. Me: "Can I help you Officer?" Officer: "We've had multiple abandoned 911 calls from this location." Me: "Oops." We've been having issues with our phone lines and Spectrum was out working on the problem. We have five lines. Two are dedicated emergency lines that only call out to 911. Guess which lines were tested multiple times. I guess we inadvertently tested the theory that the police would rather come out and find nothing wrong. I thanked the officer for checking on us. Then closed the door and told my boss "911 lines work fine!" 5 2
Site Moderator Reader1810 Posted July 7, 2020 Site Moderator Posted July 7, 2020 All I want to know is how after gardening - ie weeding - I ended up with an ant ( ) in my hair? Found it while I was washing my hair, and luckily, I’m pretty sure it was dead. And, even luckier, it was an itty bitty one rather than a big Goliath. Oh well, I’m still in one piece, so I guess that’s what counts. 1 2 1
