Popular Post K.C. Posted January 24, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 24, 2021 K.C. Grim is my real name. It never occurred to me to make up a screen name. LOL 😜 Nobody ever calls me by my full name anyway, I've just always used my initials K.C. I don't think I've heard anyone call me by my full name since my Mom passed away. 8 2

Interestingly, a close friend of mine I know personally goes by the name K.C. However, mostly family and close friends usually call him that. Another interesting thing is that he is a fan of Animal from The Muppets. I know you can't be the K.C. I know, since he's not into gay stories and he's not gay or in the LGBTQIA+ realm. 1 2

Popular Post BigBen Posted January 26, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 26, 2021 My name used to be Benedict for a while, in another life, but that name was generally taken on most online services when I went to sign up. Since I love London, BigBen thus became an acceptable replacement name, in honor of the famous big bell in the tower of Westminster Palace. I have since reverted to my birth name, but BigBen is still my name on many of my online accounts. 5 4

Popular Post Ryan Jones Posted February 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) Well, Ryan is my middle name and my grandson's name. Jones for no other reason than I liked Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. Edited February 7, 2021 by Ryan Jones 4 3
Popular Post thephoenix Posted February 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 11, 2021 The phoenix is a symbol of birth, death, and resurrection. Quote "The worm then becomes the great sun eagle, thus signifying the power of transformation in response to hopelessness and devastation. Thus, the phoenix spirit animal has the ability to lift us from the ashes of destruction into the blue skies of optimism and renewal. In the worst of times, it teaches us how to be victorious. Out of suffering, we grow in spirit. In heartbreak and sadness, this beautiful and gentle creature sings an enchanting song that summons the forces of heaven." https://www.worldbirds.org/phoenix-symbolism/ For me, I joined this site after a period of self discovery where I was in a very dark place mentally/emotionally and was able start a new clean slate after moving to the U.S. History has a habit of repeating itself though so a similar thing happened in 2017. After years of self-discovery and forcing change again, I feel like I'm on the correct path again. The phoenix symbol has kind of stuck with me. 3 7
Popular Post JustynC Posted February 26, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2021 My user name was originally Justyn C Case but I changed it to JustynC after my parents found out I was using my real name. I was going to change it to Justyn Case but decided against it. Good thing I did cause that insurance company Safe Auto had a agent guy named Justin Case in 2009 and yes all my friends let know about it geeze. 5 2
Popular Post Thorn Wilde Posted February 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) Back in my teens, I started posting fanfic and other stuff online under a username that was based around my given name. I went many years without posting anything anywhere, and back in 2012 when I wanted to start again, I decided on a fresh start. The stuff I posted in my teens was mostly terrible too. I wanted something gender neutral (I didn't really get why that was important to me at the time as I hadn't figured out my gender identity yet) most importantly, not too feminine. The name itself actually came from my original username on the Harry Potter website Pottermore. In the beginning, they didn't let you choose your own, to protect children so they wouldn't use their real names. You got three columns, the first two were words and the third a set of numbers, with ten options each. I picked thorn and wild from the first two columns cause I thought it sounded kind of magical. And I thought, that could work as a pen name. First it was ThornWild, and then I changed it to Thorn Wilde, partly to honour Oscar Wilde and partly just cause it looks more like a real name. I've been Thorn Wilde in all my online writing endeavours ever since. I've considered changing it. I've picked a new irl first name for myself. But I've been Thorn Wilde for more than 8 years now. I'll save my real name for if I ever get trad published. Edited February 27, 2021 by Thorn Wilde 3 6

Popular Post Zuri Posted February 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 27, 2021 Frankly, when I created my account at Fandom (formerly Wikia), I wasn't very creative. Because it was a wiki dedicated to a mystery crime series, I decided that a name starting with "Agent" might sound cool, so I chose "Agent Zuri". Over the time, people I worked with on the wiki started calling me just "Zuri"—so that became my nickname and the "Agent" got forgotten more and more. Sometimes, people call me "Mr. Zuri" (which is a bit strange) or either assume Zuri is female, actually means "Yuri" or "Zürich"—sorry to disappoint you, but it's just a made-up name. As I said, I'm not very creative when it comes to usernames and since I identified with Zuri more and more, and it was both short and handy, I used it almost everywhere I went on the internet. 6 2
Popular Post Arch Hunter Posted February 27, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 27, 2021 There's this cute little video game Camp Buddy and one of its main characters is a boy called Hunter. And his dad's name is Archer. So by merging them we get someone hunting with bow and arrows. I thought it was pretty cool. 4 4
Popular Post headtransplant Posted February 28, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2021 The medical field is making incredible advances. They can transplant organs, tissues, cells, limbs... I mean it’s only a matter of time. So yeah you guessed it, I chose this username because I’m a goofball. 1 1 7
Mrsgnomie Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 I know it's late but I figured I'd add. Growing up, Nomie was my nickname. About ten years ago a kid I was mentoring found my 7th grade school picture and did a side by side next to a photo of a homely gnome that looked surprisingly similar to me (for the record, I don't actually look like a gnome. The picture was just weird enough.) Nomie quickly became Gnomie. Boom. 1 1 3

Grumpy Bear Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 I'm a self-described "bear" and the fiction that I'm writing here will be mostly focused on werebears to contrast the multitude of werewolf/wolf lycan fiction out there. I thought through all of the pop-culture bears out there since my childhood in the early 70's to see if there was one bear that I could connect with as a mascot and username. "Grumpy Bear" from the Care Bears was the logical choice. I'm what you get if Grumpy Bear actually grew up into an adult grizzly bear. 4
comicfan Posted July 2, 2021 Posted July 2, 2021 (edited) 0k, so I'm a little late to this. A few of the stories about author's names I knew. Others were new to me. It happens when you are here for a while. My own nickname isn't all that interesting. Comicfan is just that. I am a fan of comics, whether they are newspaper comics like Peanuts or Garfield, or comics like Wonder Woman or X-men. Edited July 2, 2021 by comicfan 2 3
MrM Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 I have been MrM since the dawn of the Internetz. It’s actually not ‘Mister Emm’ but the unpronounceable symbol that marks a tabby cat’s head. I should say unpronounceable by human type people. Cats say it just fine. 🐈 3 1

Frosty Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 Polar bears are my favourite animal, my favourite genre is were-creatures and for the longest time it was just lycan wolf stories, i was lonerwolf_94 for years, but now with were-bears breaking out I'm so happy and i decided to do a name change i identify more with in my heart. I'm not a self described bear per say, but that's probably the group i feel most comfortable around. Contrary to what people probably first assume, "snow" isn't referring to age in any sense lol not like "silver fox" or something like that. Just because i love polar bears and i also live in Canada so people think we live in igloos lol 1 2
