Popular Post Kitt Posted January 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 8, 2021 Mom gave it to me at birth. Have had other names on other sites, found peeps would talk to me in live chats and it did not register that they were speaking to me! 8 4
Popular Post astone2292 Posted January 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 8, 2021 (edited) I've gone by several usernames, but I settled using this one as I could turn it into a proper pen name. Always liked the name Aaron, and have thought about legally changing my name a time or two. My real name is rather biblical and, though I'm very grateful for the name my parents gave me, my name seems a little too...innocent. Combined with my high pitched-masculine voice and 5' 6" height, this Kentucky man named Jacob gets called 'boy' way too often. Edit: the 2292 is my lunch number code I had from Kindergarten all the way up through high school. Why? Why keep this? Because I liked the number. Edited January 10, 2021 by astone2292 8 4
Popular Post Headstall Posted January 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 8, 2021 I've loved horses since I was a kid, and got my first one at nineteen, an appaloosa gelding who was a long yearling. We learned together, and I was soon involved in horse competitions of all kinds. It was my passion for decades. A headstall is the western bridle that holds the bit. It can have a browband or be a one-eared variety, and I had a collection of different ones from over the years. When it came time to pick a user name, I had my favorite one hanging up on a hook nearby, and I thought using "Headstall" would speak to who I was. I had no plans to be a writer at the time... I was just an avid reader/lurker who wanted to be able to leave reviews/comments on favored stories. 3 9

Popular Post Dodger Posted January 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 9, 2021 I spent much of my childhood living in Bermondsey; an area of London featured in Charles Dickens' novel “Oliver Twist.” We lived at Dockhead, next to Jacob's Street (Jacob's Island in the book). In Chapter 50, Dickens wrote, "To reach this place, the visitor has to penetrate through a maze of close, narrow, and muddy streets, thronged by the roughest and poorest of waterside people.' Thankfully, it wasn't that bad when I lived there, but many of the narrow cobbled streets were preserved and the area still had a very Dickensian feel to it. I saw myself as more of an Artful Dodger than an Oliver Twist, so my username was never in doubt. 8 7

I was already eleven years old when you were born, and while your code name may not be anything "special" in your view, that still makes you a young whipper-snapper as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and I am Ron... so, nothing special indeed. Edited January 10, 2021 by Ron 2 9

Popular Post Wombat Bill Posted January 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 11, 2021 Wombats have always been my favourite native animal. My name is William, but always known as Bill. I chose the name when I got my first email address, way back when. I have mostly lived in the suburbs so only saw wombats at the zoo or wildlife parks. Twenty year ago my partner and I bought a property in the country and guess what? - it came with many resident wombats as a bonus. The image banner on my profile is a stock image, but the small round image is a grab from a video of one of our wombats recorded by our night camera. You can see my wombat video on my YouTube channel. Video title "Home among the Kangaroos". 4 9

Popular Post TetRefine Posted January 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 11, 2021 When I first joined, I was an avid Tetris player (hence the 'Tet' part). As I was signing up, I had just read an article about an oil refinery, hence the 'Refine' part. It was basically just random. 11 1
Site Moderator Popular Post Reader1810 Posted January 11, 2021 Site Moderator Popular Post Posted January 11, 2021 My username Reader1810 - is comprised of two parts (obviously ). The first part “Reader” is self explanatory. The second part “1810” represents my place in the line of grandchildren - 18 and 10, respectively - in both sides of my family. 8 4 1
Popular Post Mawgrim Posted January 13, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 13, 2021 I have used the name 'Mawgrim' on the Internet for many years. It came about when I first needed to register a username with a site I can't even remember right now. I tried using various combinations of my actual name to no avail; everything was taken or would have required a string of numbers afterwards. Striving for inspiration, I looked up at my bookshelf. A friend of mine had recently finished a very long fantasy novel entitled 'Mawgrim's Flask' and it was sitting there in a folder, waiting to be read. So 'Mawgrim' it was. 10 2 1
Site Administrator Popular Post Myr Posted January 13, 2021 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted January 13, 2021 Myr is shortened from Myrddin, which is the Welsh legendary figure on which the Merlin legend seems to be based. 8 10
Popular Post Krista Posted January 16, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 16, 2021 Mine was something me and my friends were brainstorming when I decided I really didn't like my first name. I didn't want to be a Chris or a Christie or a Tina. At first it was Christa, but I didn't like the Chris part so I started using a Kr to shorten it instead. There were also three more Christinas in my class so shortening my name to Krista just made it easier for everyone involved, even my teachers. My mother refuses to call me Krista though, so I still had to deal with it at home. 10 3

Popular Post just4hugs Posted January 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2021 I did check to see if "Justin" was available when I joined but it wasn't so I used a username I came up with for another site based on an experience from high school. My username represents Justin 4 Hugs. Junior year I got in trouble for hugging a girl in the hallway. We were just friends that had known each other since preschool. A teacher caught us hugging and we were punished under their policy of no public displays of affection. Yes it was a long hug and I might've slightly picked her up off the ground as part of it, but there wasn't anything remotely romantic about it. I suggested later at lunch that I run for student council and fight the tyranny of the anti-huggers. 7 7
Popular Post Sasha Distan Posted January 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 19, 2021 It's my name. I picked it out a long long time ago because it sounds good on the tongue and it's nonbinary and S is a really fun letter to write in calligraphy. That's it, it ain't that deep 9 3
ChaosDevin Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 I'm into chaotic metal music, like Sadistik Exekution (death metal band from Australia). I also have an interest in chaos Satanism (yes, I'm actually a Satanist myself, not too serious about it). Yes and chaos (chaos emeralds and other things) is a thing in Sonic the Hedgehog games. I thought it was perfect and I've been using this username on sites for almost a couple of years. Oh and Devin is my real name. I think it's a bit straight forward. 1 4
