How does one immigrate to Canada? Being serious as I just applied for a job with a Non-profit in Toronto, and the Hybrid commute will be hell from Florida.

You have to apply. In your case, you'd need a job. There are different rules depending on why you are applying. Having worked with people who are coming to Canada to work, you do not need an immigration lawyer. If you follow the information on the Govt of Canada website, you can get through the application without more legal or expert help. Print out the checklist and make sure everything is done to the letter. 

Oddly, i've heard the number of applications for permanent residence is rather high lately.

I’m in a good mood! On Sat we booked a midweek stay up near a ski resort (no snow yet so cheap!) with friends. Hope the dogs behave….

Today I’ve reserved a week in prePyrenees for Christmas in a village called Beget, in Girona province in pre-Pyrenees. V antisocial but it avoids drunken family arguments about Spanish right wing politics. Don’t know if I want snow (v pretty etc) or easy journey (the village is five miles off the main road with a steep incline 😱). The joys of retirement or lunacy…

i'm okay now, thank you. i just got busy and that made me feel better. i've been having trouble sleeping so that makes me less than happy.  

i like that it's cooler today, even though it's a bit humid.

My sleep deprived brain took my sorry behind to the doctor today only to find out that my appointment is Thursday. 🤦‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️ At least it was only a 10 minute drive. I swear my brain is turning into mush.

Humidity is just about nil, but T-storms are still in the forecast (it’s been light rain so far), so I’m waiting for the sky to open up and the thunder to start banging. The cooler air is appreciated.

Good Morning and Happy World Octopus Day!  I'm sure that it's Wednesday. We are going to the store to buy a turkey. Sadly, we can no longer buy pre-stuffed Butterballs because of the ingredients. Sigh. However, we will buy an empty one and stuff it with the sage and onion dressing my mom always made. I can take care of that and likely will be healthier for it. 

Have a pleasant day, whatever you are up to.  Very cool, breezy and sunny here. Nice autumn day.

Here the latest crops have been planned and are facing a wash out.  Don’t think large-scale farming, it’s all family-owned fields and, sadly, overuse of fertilizers to get four crops a year apart from the orange trees which are coming into their own.

It's a rainy day here. But....... nice cool fall weather is forecast for the next week, so I'm happy.

Shorts stored away. Tomorrow sandals will go in their box. Our 60+ polo shirts are ready for the store cupboard (what a pair we are!). Yikes, it was still summer today but autumn arrives at 02.00. Argh 😖

jk, it’s 55F where I am and I just got back from the grocery store. Socks and shoes were a must but no jacket with short sleeves.

After last week's heat, we are now getting warnings of frost for the next couple of nights! We did receive some rain. but we are still in a moderate drought condition. It is hit or miss all around our area. some farmers need much more rain while others have flooded fields! It has been a very rough year for anyone who depends on the weather for a living!
