Happy Tuesday and,

image.png.2c957e3c945de038c66a35f040eb146e.png

I would smile too, if we could get some rain!  Our lack of rain continues. Since August 1 we only had less than three tenth of an inch of rain, spread over 46 days! It has been extremely dry, and not really any foretasted for our next week.or longer.  ☹️

This ran across my Instagram timeline and I couldn't stop snickering about it. Does this remind anyone else ( @kbois ) of a certain somebody?

OMFG..

 This made my night.

We've spent ALL DAY working on swapping bedrooms with my son.  There's been a delay in moving my son over to my Sister-in-law's. Their wild child black kitty was supposed to get fixed at the end of this month but he had to go and get an abcess in his paw and they couldn't get another appointment until October 25ish. We want him calmed down before introducing him to our kitty. Our son was sleeping on a twin size pull out sofa bed and it was not meant for someone built like a 6'2" NFL linebacker.

We asked and reminded my MIL several times that we were switching rooms and what does she say to me? "I wish you asked before you rearranged the whole house."

Shoot me. Just freaking shoot me.

Three trips to Home Depot for the right hardware for the beds and some if the screws were stripped and we're still not done . . Off to finish.

i understand. We haven't had a whole lotta rain either. And now they are saying there won't be much snow...that's not really a good thing. From August 1 we had 66.7mm or 2.62 inches. It's not a lot, more than you but still not a lot.

Would she say the same thing if you said, "You told Paul it was okay." ?

I'm glad that I could somewhat brighten your day.

Dementia is just horrible and sad for everyone. My heart goes out to you, your family, and your MIL.

She's going to complain about it no matter what.

I just take a page from the kid's movie Madagascar:

Ok.. I need to know if I'm justified in screaming inside my head every time I have to put the microwave cover back inside the microwave... where it belongs when not in use... not on top of the stove or on the counter where there no room!

Let me know if you store your microwave cover inside the microwave when you're not using it or if you have a designated other spot for it. The kitchen at my MIL's house is small. I've spent a ungodly amount of hours cleaning and reorganizing it and it may seem insignificant but its one of those pet peeves that is driving me crazy.

If you're talking about the plastic thing-a-ma-bob that you place over a plate when reheating to prevent spattering, then yes it should go back inside if there is no other room for it.

Luckily, I have a typical 1980's house where they had a honker built in microwave atop of the wall oven, but it was removed long before I bought the house. I have a freestanding microwave and there's plenty of room on top for the microwave cover.

Alternatively, you could just hide it from everyone and use it only for yourself.

You mean anyone other than you puts things WHERE THEY ACTUALLY BELONG?!?!?

We moved in here 40 yrs ago next spring. Remodled the kitchen 35 yrs ago. Suddenly things that have lived in a cabinet for 35 yrs are wandering, and they both seem to think I know where they shoved it last!

Its those plastic dome-cover thingys that you put over a plate or bowl so food doesn't splatter in the microwave. We have a microwave that's mounted above the stove so keeping it stored inside the microwave makes sense (at least to me)

I have quickly discovered that my MIL is a slob in the kitchen. She has an orange every morning and stands at the sink to eat it. Do you think the peel ever makes it to the trash can?

I'm going out today to run some errands and tonight we're going to a friend's for pizza.

Spoiler

I'm escaping. The sister-in-law who lives in Indiana is visiting and she has not one single iota of common sense. Life tries to get too complicated when she's around. Good grief.

It should be a good day. Enjoy it everyone!
