(You know who you are) I'm not so sure that would be in my future, but I did crack out a mandoline that I had received as a gift (and never used) and it did make really quick work of slicing up all of those onions. Yes mom, I did use the safety shield holder, so you can relax. I liked the control compared to a food processor where I can never get things uniformly sliced or chopped, but I'm not giving up my knives just yet. I'm going to be using it a whole lot more in the future! The onions came out amazing and the French onion soup was top notch. I did learn that this is a dish that you start at night and let it go while you sleep. Thanks again to you and @Mikiesboy for the recipe! 1 4

I've never cut myself badly but with arthritis getting more cranky with each birthday, I'm not taking any chances. I love my chopper and it gets used often. Glad you enjoyed the onions! 5

Gary L Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 So…. Trip to mountains 90 miles away to be hit by amazing autumn colours. Thousands upon thousands of poplar trees had turned a delicate shade of yellow. We went with three friends. Normally, this is my idea of Hell as I don’t play too well in the sand pit…But… Since one, sadly, has terminal pancreatic cancer, even I had to up my game. A breakdown in the other car meant we were up and down mountains in a small Peugeot 208: 5 adults, two wieners and me as only driver. it was an amazing few days. Our friend is so positive, so out to enjoy everything, it was contagious. I was on best behaviour, even though I lost nearly every game of dominoes 😭. There was, however, something really strange. Our dogs know the others well and fuss over them a bit when they come to dinner or we all go on beach walk. However, Lilibeth became obsessed with Amparo and sat with her all day and at night threw crying tantrums at the door of our room as she wanted to get to Amparo. It was as if she detected that A was v ill. Weird but moving. Have a great weekend everyone, ps @kbois we left at 8° and now in Valencia it’s 28°/82°F. So I’m it shorts, tee and sandals again! 5

Enjoy the warm weather! Right now its 37F/8C which is what I consider a brisk morning. It'll be about 53 later today when I go to the pool so I'll wear my ugly godawful crocs that I bought just for going to the pool. They're lined so its not bad going outside when my feet might still be damp. The fan for the ac/heat shit the bed in my car and it won't get fixed until I start working which hopefully will be the first week of November. I have cat wrangling duty today. My MILs evil feline has a vet appointment and I get to ambush her with a towel and shove her into the cat carrier. I'm not sad about it. 😈 Have a good day everyone! 5

Popular Post kbois Posted October 24, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 24, 2025 So...... the evil cat got a clean bill of health and they'll call us with the results of the blood tests. Of course my MIL made it seem like she was being traumatized by the dog and kitten. I set the record straight. The vet asked if she had a place to go if she needed to get away. MIL said she made her a place in her closet.... WTF? Theres no room in her closet. The woman hasn't gotten rid of a single article of clothing in about 20 years. I swear she spent over an hour in her room after we got back trying to make a nest for the cat. Meanwhile the cat perches on the cat bed which is up higher. Cats dont want a closet nest... they want a vault ceiling with a throne to perch on. Sigh. Next time I'm drugging my MIL and not the cat. Meanwhile... Hes only part weinerdog and no husky that we know of but he seems to like his new collar. He thinks it gives him carte blanche to chase the cats. Good boy! 1 5
