Hello all. 

 

First significant snow of the season here in Southwest ohio. We had 4 inches.....it was terrible lol. Roads are decent now though.

Same here. My poor Florida born and raised pupper took one look outside and said "hell nah!" 

On an up note... driving in snow is a skill you dont lose. It still sucked though.

Be that as it may, I'm not testing that theory here in the south where everyone thinks it's an opportunity to drift their big trucks and then they wind up in someone's ditch or yard. I just stay my tail home, drink hot chocolate, and laugh at their antics.

We haven’t had much snow as yet in southern Ontario, and I’m guite fine with that.

Sadly we will feel the effects of the polar air flow for at least the next two weeks, with temps well below normal. This means very frigid cold air with little relief in sight, and very high utility bills, with cloudy short dark days ahead of us!  The Great Lakes effects on snowfall can be very heavy in my area. Not a good sign. for the days ahead of us in Northern Ohio, or for anyone around the Great Lakes.

No way I could go back. I live in gentile poverty here, but al least the weather is (usually) good.  If it rains, my goodness it rains but then months of dry sunny weather. Evenings are chilly and heating is on.

In San Diego they say you pay for the weather yeah like all the business here are responsible for the weather. Okay fine but do they have to charge for every one degree Fahrenheit over 55?

Hey, we are off to the Pyrenees in three weeks and the minimum is about 36°F. That’s a huge drop for us, but 8°? The dogs would sue us for abuse!

Mosquitoes, hurricanes, alligators, frizzy hair, underb**b and/or b&tt crack sweat, having your thigh skin peel off when you are wearing shorts and you get into the car on a balmy 105 degree August day,  and not being able to turn your oven on for 10 months out of the year.

Hush yourself up. Yeah, it's cold.  I have 3 fall/winter coats. Two pairs of boots.  Dress right and it's doable. If you wanna wear sandals in winter (and people do here) and you're cold or need an amputation, that's on them/you.  I get tired of hot weather food ... i like me a good stick-to-your-ribs stew. You'll be happier when you get your car fixed. 

I spent 1.5 hours in with our very nice bank advisor and my Husband today sorting our mutual funds, retirement savings and credit cards. There was discussion of POAs and beneficiaries.  It's done now, and the best part was our late Vietnamese lunch. 

Dinner will be porridge and toasted sour dough bread.  I don't want that in summer.

I will admit... if I have to chose,  I'd much rather be cold than hot. 

Camden on the other hand... we have to literally pick him up and take him outside. He drove my MIL  crazy crying to go out all day and then refusing to step off the porch. I had to walk him around the fenced in backyard this morning and he still stubbornly refused to do his business. Must be the dachshund in him. I guess I'm taking him to work with me tomorrow.

10 days with Hubby's family, then a tour. We put it together with the travel agent.

He has 2 sisters and a brother that live there.
