Disasters, Delights and Other Detours - 65. Forgiveness Walking

I'm grateful to @AC Benus for making this a much better poem. However, all errors and gaffes are mine alone.
Does forgiveness walk with you,
with feet that slide in fresh-fallen snow
and break through ice covered puddles,
shattering their panes
to open muddy secrets to the high, blue sky?
Can you feel reconciliation's breath upon your neck
to chill and warm simultaneously
as whispered lips tease your cheek
and murmured syllables caress the ear?
Will you recall clemency's glance,
and forget that place you hid away your ruby-faceted anger
secured in black velvet,
for safekeeping?
Pardon’s voice may hum swing tunes at work
and mercy's eyes crinkle at the corners,
smiling in stained-glass sunlight
to splash across the melting snow.
I welcome any comment you might want to make. Rants and gripes are okay too.

A powerful poem. The shifting from frozen panes of ice to multicolored stained glass is effective and beautiful. This is a wonderful piece, and many can relate to the emotions painted here with your skill and talent. Thanks for sharing with us

Thank you, my friend. That movement from panes turned into ice shards, from frozen landscape to melting snow and vivid sunlight touches the feelings generated by forgiveness. I’m grateful for your help in making this poem better.

With striking imagery you take us from icy chill to warmth that melts snow just like forgiveness blesses the forgiving and the forgiven.

It's a beautiful poem.

Sadly, it's rarely true in this world. Few forgive, or talk, they just post their blinded vision on social media. Beggar the truth.

But your poem is filled with hope. And i for one, am always willing to talk, listen and forgive, or, i hope, be forgiven.

Thank you for this, Parker. đź’–

You’re so right about social media and the ease with which bitter predigested opinions get spread. Forgiveness is so precious, and it’s elation so grand, it’s a wonder that it feels so rare. I’m glad you feel the hope in this poem, and hear it singing with me. Your response made me smile. Thank you.

Very eloquent statement on turning the corner and forgiving. I do hope more people read it, and consider the message you're offering.
