Broken dreams (Yes, I too am uninspired)

We often dare to dream. Someone, or something, comes along that you want more than anything. The problem comes when you realize what is probably lost to you forever. It's the ultimate in not being inspired. It's problematic to say the least, but who knows what will happen? It just makes me wish I could crawl under a rock, but I can't do that. I'm much better than I was a few months ago, but now that I am more "normal", it actually makes things more difficult to deal with. It may be a while, but

Conley, GA

Oh, piddles!   I tried to do an entry earlier, but when I clicked on Preview, nothing happened until IE informed me it couldn't display the request page. It had some really great stuff in it, too, but now it's gone to wherever lost blog entries go when IE can't get its act together.   Such is life.

Front yard pic and update

Here is a picture I just took of Dan in the front yard - we put up the Obama/Biden sign up last Wed and just got the "No on 8" sign this morning and put it up.     Also - just got back from my weekly check-up with Dr. Spears - again, very happy with my blood numbers and progress. My white blood count is actually LOW right now (this is the one that was originally close to 400 where normal is a range of 4.1-10.9). During last week's treatments, it went under 100 and was happy with last Mond

Gosh such a great brotherly talk (ugghhh)

Gosh my mom had me talk with my #2 brother about my NO JOB situation.   I have to say talking with any of my brothers on this subject is like you might as well just take me out to the shooting range and pull the trigger or the other saying "Reopen an old wound and pour salt on it"   Gosh, why is it ever easier to talk with people that's not your family than with. I don't expect them to change since my family is not much to hugging nor giving love nor helping out another brother beyond wor

The Drop Occured... but all is better

Well, the drop occurred.   Out of all the managers i've ever had, my all time favorite one quit without any notice. She was pretty cool and i'm gonna miss her something fierce.   That's not to say that i'm depressed from it... i'm disappointed but I know that things like this happen and it's of no fault of my own.   Needless to say, I'm also having quite a bit of fun training the new manager that we have. He's pretty cool, though in a different way.   On a personal level, Matt and I have

I Don't Like Mondays.

Ahhh, another day in paradise.   So it's Sunday night, 9pm. I should be sleeping because there's a Grand Prix at 3.45am, but I can't be bothered. That's right, I'd get up at 3.45am for motor racing. A man's gotta have priorities. But there's gonna be one nasty side-effect... 7.30am start at the office tomorrow. 7.30am start every day of the week, in fact. Why do I torture myself like this, seriously? 7.30am starts are the devil. I've never been a morning person and I never will be a morning pe

Feeling FANTASTIC!

I got out of the hospital late Monday night (Oct 27) - as Dan puts it, my last chemo treatment ended about 10:25PM and at 10:28PM. I was on the phone calling Dan to pick me up (I had been packed for 3 hours at that point).   Tuesday was ok (still recovering and tired), but from Wed morning til now, I have been feeling great. I still get tired and can't just go, go, go - but have been accomplishing things around the house and just overall... um... feel great (have I said that before)!   Two

All Hallows Eve

So Halloween was interesting this year... There was class, which was moved into a lecture hall instead of the normal classroom it is held in. It was moved on account of potential noise due to a "Haunted Valley" Thing the student council was throwing on campus last night. It looked interesting from what I saw of it. Kind of an alternative for families as a safe alternative to trick-r-treating. More on the safe part in a moment....   There where a number of booths setup for the kids in full rega

Disconnected thoughts ...   I drove through Wilkinson, IN, today and was struck by its overwhelming quaintness. There were pumpkins everywhere. There were children playing in the park. There were people out talking to their neighbors (it must have been half-time). I imagined last night with a lot of trick-or-treaters going door to door without fear of being shot or poisoned. Other than the enormous Church of Christ at the edge of town, it was my kind of town. Pity that.   I got into some hig

Back to SK

Well, I just started playing the new round of Star Kingdoms. last night. This is awesome. So far, I know of 4 other GA members who are playing. 2 of them, Demetz and W.L., are in my sector, which is really cool. I also know that Lissa and Mattie are playing as well. This is going to be f**king awesome! I think I'm getting a much better start this time, and I think I can do quite well. It's a fun game, and if you're interested, start quickly, because the round is already in full swing. Being any

Annapolis, MD

Honestly, there are some places big trucks are not meant to go. Yet, to get a Common Carrier Alcohol Permit I had to go to 80 Calvert Street, Annapolis, MD.   Luckily, I had the foresight to leave my trailer at the customer's locaton. I can see driving a truck and trailer into Annapolis, but I can't see getting the silly thing turned around to get it back out.   Quaint and big trucks do not go together. It took me forever to find a parking place for the truck.   I came in on Rowe, turned r

Late night Bolero time

I sometimes have a hard time going to sleep. Thus, I am listening to Bolero, one of my favorite musical pieces. It has a variety of beautiful instruments playing the chorus, and it blends so well It even gives me goosebumps. There is nothing wrong with a love of classical music. It reminds us of the days of yore when life was simpler. By simpler, I mean that the world was not modernized. If you wanted to hear a song like this, you had to go to where it was being performed live. While that is sti

The Drop

When life has always thrown curveballs at you, don't you begin to accept them? What I mean is, when good things start to happen, don't you (after getting it all the time) wait for the impending thud of the shoe dropping and something bad going on?   That's how I feel right now. I have a good job, I have a loving boyfriend and I'm finally doing well in school, but I hate to say that I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. I've gotten so used to life getting me down that it's weird when it

Harbinger of Doom

I just saw an advertisement for "Captain Dan and his Scurvy Crew," who provide the world with "Authentic Pirate Hip-Hop."     I'm still trying to assimilate that one. I'm making an effort to be rational, and not to view it as a sign of a coming apocalypse, but I think it won't hurt to hit a confessional over the next couple days and take communion this weekend.

Losing Ctrl

Sunday afternoon as I was getting Tiff squard away in her new Hosted Status, and generally annoying anyone I could get ahold of on MSN the left hand ctrl button on my laptop popped off. I was annoyed to say the least. Missing buttons look ugly and ghetto. To say the least... Really I was more concerned with the asthetic more than I was any function.   Then I got to realizing how much I use that damn key for cut and paste...   Anyhow I did some quick research... this is how you replace said b

The results are in...

Well, I went to the health department. Last week I got tested for HIV. I had to wait a week, but the news is good. I am HIV negative. Now, I deleted my entry from yesterday, but I shall repost that video as well as another.   This is a hilarious parody about Sarah Palin based on "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat. It is freaking hilarious.     The second one is based on Hey Delilah. It's funny as hell too.

Chicago, IL

When I accepted the load, I figured it being late I wouldn't have any problems running into the yard in Chicago, swapping trailers, and hightailing it back out before morning traffic destroyed all of my good feelings about the fact that the load was going to Connecticut, which just happens to be on the wrong side of the Hudson River.   So, when I got here (yes, as a matter of fact, I am still in Chicago) the trailer I assumed was to be there because the load stated the pickup date was 10/26/08

Unnatural Fears

I'm afraid I'm going to say something stupid.   I'm afraid I'm making a mountain out of a mole-hill   I'm afraid I'll wake up tomorrow and everything will be how it was two weeks ago.   I'm afraid I'll listen to my brain when it tells my heart to shut up, again.

If you hadn't already noticed...

I've kinda not been around a great deal lately.   I'm fine and there's nothing to worry about.   Basically, as I indicated in my forum post a couple of weeks ago, I've just had other things on my plate. LOL, those of you that have been around a couple of years or longer are probably already well aware that periodically I tend to disappear for a couple of months (or perhaps a bit longer)...well it looks like now is that time again. It's amazing how much more I'm able to get done when I don

Jamestown, ND

It's been awhile since I've done this and even now it seems like an undesirable chore.   Home time was spent working at my mother's house getting it ready to sell; it goes on the market at the end of the month. My son and I will split the proceeds which won't be a whole lot, but might be enough for him to buy a house and for us to pay off 95% of our debt and fix up our house.   I also went to my shrink who was all smiles. He smiles all the time. He smiles so much you wonder if he's wearing a
