Heading into my bunker

I've been lame and not updating this thing, I know. I have been writing a little, but its mostly military science fiction (also what I've been reading), so I can't see that going over too well over here. The characters aren't Gay, in any case.   Actually, last week I wrote a story for the sole and express purpose of using the phrase, "Tracking just nailed the ID. Coming up...ah, crap! It's the Shittin' Kitten."   Last Tuesday more or less blew. I'd still rather Ms. Clinton had been the one t

Infusion Pump Update

It's been awhile since my last entry so I'm doing one in response to a recent post in Shadowgods forum and a pm. I told the sender in a reply, this would make a good blog entry and I'd try to have it up some time today.   A question to the readers was asked, didn't the description of Jonathan shooting up creep you out? I replied with this, Some it would bother, but not me. When you check your blood sugar six times daily and then give yourself injections, you can get used to it.   You can get

The Edu-Nazi Strikes Back!

Beh.... So I did worse then I had anticipated. Somewhere around the D mark on Friday.   To be honest I am at that point where I just want to give the whole school thing my middle finger and be done with it. Meh... I'm frustrated that it is taking so long... I'm frustrated that its gonna take even longer. I'm suffering from a whole Veruca Salt moment. That whole "I want it now!" thing. Hopefully this character lapse doesn't make me a bad nut... its just. Yeah.   I dropped the Math class caus

My next year

Dan and I went to Stanford on Friday and came out of it with a TON of information and things that we now have to consider and start planning for.   The thumbnail sketch of my next year is basically:   Finish chemo. I actually start my next round in the hospital tomorrow and it should last 4 days, 5 at the most so will be home on Friday. Then continuing on a schedule of two weeks home, one week in. Dr Spears thinks that I'll only need to do 3 cycles in total, so that would end sometime in la

Eden, ID

Moving right along, I'll still have one more night on the road, probably up near Hermiston, OR. This is a familiar route, one I've been doing since coming back to the company.   There are alternatives, but those loads don't seem to be coming my way. I have yet to take a load into the LA area. I kind of like running up I-5; of course, now with the idling ban it wouldn't be so much fun, but there are alternatives going that way, too.   For the past couple days I've been trying to come to terms

I got a crazy science idea against prop 8

"Marriage is defined as a union between One Man and One Woman"   Well, I have an interesting concept, how do you define man and woman?   If you apply sexual organs, then what if the guy lost his balls due to an accident? What if the woman is infertile due to a genetic condition? Would they still be denied the right to marry base on this law? Get the lawyers on the case and we can have some fun if the proponents try to argue against a woman, who has lost her ability to reproduce, from marryin

Yayness!

So. Yesterday was amazing. I got to see Kevin Smith (if you don't know who he is, shame on you!). He's one of my favorite celebrities/directors/producers/etc.   It was so neat to do a Q&A with him and trust me, it lasted a good 4.5 hours, and there was never a dull moment. He talked about everything from his experiences directing, to stories about his personal life, to breaking a toilet while he went number 2.   Needless to say I loved it!!!   In other news, I've decided that I'm long

Changing Lanes (and no I don't mean the story per se)

Yes, it's a good title for a story, and it's what I am doing. It's time to put plans into action. I can have a better life for myself, one with reduced stress and more pleasure. I have come across a business opportunity, and I am going to take it. Tomorrow night could very well change my life forever.   Lately I have not felt any inspiration to write. I don't know what it is, but it's just not what belongs on my plate right now. Hopefully that will change soon, because I do want to finish a s

"And the reason is you...."

Alright so because I didn’t explain it before and I’m sick of people bugging me about it, I figure I’ll post what happened here so you can all get your fill and stop asking me. Part of me didn’t want to post something like this because it had the potential to be somewhat negative and I was trying to stay positive about the whole situation. Well f**K that. I’m pissed so here goes nothing.   I’ll start by posting the letter I wrote to him making it official that we broke up. This isn’t word for

Hedley, TX

If you're ever travelling US-287 between Amarillo and Witchita Falls, Texas, be sure to stop at one of these rest areas. Not only do they give you a really nice place to relieve those uncomfortable physiological urges, they're kind of interesting, too.   I could've written about Hedley, but with 379 people, there isn't a whole lot to say. It had it's heyday, but decline set in back in the 1950s and much of the focus in the area has been toward the larger cities in the area; Memphis to the east

Some stuff for today

Today, I went in for another interview at another regional accounting firm.   They were a nice firm and pretty decent decor. I got to talk to the managing partner, aka. the Boss of the local office. I can tell you the guy had a worn out look in his face; slightly old and a bit battered. He had been at the firm after the Arthur Andersen collapsed. He was a decent guy and a really nice human being.   We went through the stages and talked about my work experience as an intern and my specialties

Unconstructive Internalized Heterophobia

I'm still steamed over Prop 8 and the other bans against Gay Marriage that have taken place in the U.S. I know others want to 'move on', but I have all this anger that I don't know what to do with.   So instead of keeping my heterophobia internalized, I'm thinking of constructive ways to externalize it. A friend and I came up with the following:   1) Start a ballot proposition to Amend the California constitution to eliminate the right to Divorces . Banning divorces will help protect the

Irving, TX

Did you know Irving, TX, was more than likely actually named for Washington Irving?   I spent the night at our company yard in Irving. It's off 482 over near the old Cowboys stadium.   Yesterday, was mostly spent finding the next rest room. It wasn't a fructose issue though, just something I ate. One time I couldn't make it to a rest room and had to stop at a picnic area to make use of a garbage bag. Definitely not something I don't want to do everyday.   I have been working on Chapter 18.

It's been a while...

I've been neglecting GA really badly. Makes me a little sad, but it's because I'm just so busy all the time with all of this insanity that is collegiate life. Really, though, I have an extremely important announcement to make.     I got my hips pierced. HAHAHAHA, YES! Microdermals!!! It's like a tiny plate thingy they slide under the skin after punching a hole with a needle. I want six total, three on each side, but I got these first to see how they'll end up looking and feeling so I

What should I write about for my first blog?

Seriously, there are a million things racing through my head.   Should I be compelled to warn people again and again to a future that I have predicted in far too scary formation and accuracy? Then these blog entries are psychic readings and maybe I should charge rates higher than Ms. Cleo with her crystal ball.   I predicted a split of the Republican Party with elements re-aligning in favor of Democrats 6 months ago. I predicted that black voters will most likely not help and possibly hurt

To all the people that wrote to me...

... because I am a resident of California, this is for you.   For the record, I voted NO on Prop 8... as if that needed to be cleared up. Furthermore, I'm REALLY f**kING DISAPPOINTED that a little over half of the people that live in this state still find it acceptable to take, that's right, I said TAKE away the rights of another human being.   Discrimination... bigotry... selfishness... arrogance... ignorance... naivety... hate...   You know, I am so against these things that my brain

Reasons to be Happy

I woke up this morning, late, after watching election news until 3am. It's like the political Superbowl. But I woke up in a happy mood, excited that after 8 dreary years of Bush bullshit we might actually be able to restore America, economically and internationally, into the respected pillar that it once was. I love my country. I think a new day is dawning, a day where we actually try to solve our problems with new approaches. I feel the same way I felt after I voted for Reagan in 1980, my

Win some (big time) and lose some

I'm way overdue in making an entry, but I just had to say something on this history-making day - the day after America elected Barak Obama to be the 44th President of the United States. My wife and I were Obama supporters from the beginning. I usually don't go around making a big deal of my politics, but I strongly believe in the basic premise that government has an obligation to ensure a level playing field for humanity. That doesn't mean there needs to be a huge bureaucracy, but the lack of

Prop 8 blues

It looks like Prop 8 (Ban on Gay Marriage) is going to pass in California . Obviously, it's upsetting.   I can't quite articulate all the things that I'm feeling right now, so I'll focus instead on Exit Poll Numbers from CNN. I found it fascinating to look at the numbers.       - Votes by age   The numbers look promising for the future. 63% of the younger set (18-29yo) voted No. As the 65+ set die off and get replaced, hopefully Californian's will repeal the ban in the future.

6 Shots of Courage for the Darkness Within.

Thats all it takes... or maybe seven the details become sketchy when dealing with Patron and Jose Cuervo...   I skipped out on class last night. I had to gather the laptop delete some FTP accounts so no unauthorized access happened. Plus I just deleted all the files and pictures I had on the drive. Better that way, who needs nosy techs snooping through a persons stuff? So yeah as I was about to box it up, having whispered sweet nothings, windows decided it was high time to install vista servic
