    2025 Poetry Anthology Announcement!

    By Valkyrie

The GA Poetry Anthology is returning for 2025 with the theme "Diversity"!  It's the perfect theme to show off the diverse world of poetry and its various forms.  I look forward to reading what our site poets come up with!  Please note the earlier due date.  The extra few days will give me more time to get submissions ready for the big reveal in April to celebrate National Poetry Month.     2025 Poetry Anthology - Due: March 30, 2025 The 2025 Theme is “Diversity” Feel free to

teaching the youth of america...

Today's valuable lesson?   'Sack up, man!' means... grow some balls!   So, I FINALLY... started on my anthology entry AND heard the great news that Graeme is going to be reviewing them! That's fabulously exciting! Anyway, I hope I manage to get it done on time, I'm REALLY trying, and I'm off all day on Friday, not that I can concentrate much with the kids home on summer break, but we'll see. Also, I'm supposed to add a disclaimer to the story: Any sheep resembling vampiric Egyptian lege

Rest In Peace Chris Benoit

1967-2007   This may not mean anything to the members here at GA, but since this is my blog, I'm posting this here. My favorite wrestler, The Canadian Crippler Chris Benoit was found dead in his home with his wife and son today. If you're a WWE fan, watch Raw tonight for a tribute show dedicated to Chris and his career.

Here goes nothing

Well I sent in my anthology entry, which is actually a pretty amazing feat considering that an hour before I sent it in, I didn't even know if I was going to be writing anything. I had no idea for a plot, for characters or how the story would even end. Hell, i didn't even send it to my editor. I just took a chance and let my fingers do what they wanted, then I read it back a few times before I mailed it off to CJ. Hopefully it's good enough to be included this year. In other news, I've sent the

Saturday afternoon

I'm $10 richer today ... I'm a big Detroit Tigers fan, and my boss is a big Atlanta Braves fan. Anyway, Detroit starting pitcher Kenny Rogers was on the DL all year so far, and made his comeback start last night against Atlanta. My boss and I had $10 riding on the game, and Kenny Rogers totally SMOKED the Braves last night. WOO-HOO! Even though I grew up in Maryland, I spent the first six years of my life in Detroit, and have loved the Tigers since I knew what baseball was. My dad always trie

I have a sunburn!

And... big shock, it sorta hurts. It was worth it though. My daughter graduated from sixth grade today looking SO grown up and beautiful in 'the dress'. She actually cried more than I did So there were 2 and a half graduating classes today (one was a combination class, so only half of them were sixth graders). They saved all their acheivment awards for the graduation ceremony so that the parents could see their kids receive them. My daughter... got them all! She earned the Gold award for aca

Away

This blog entry will help explain the entry of Nick's titled, 'Putting my best foot foward'.   I'm currently spending some unexpected time with family. On the morning of 6/14, my youngest sister called me to me know that one of my older sisters died during the night unexpectedly. I didn't leave for Indiana until Saturday morning. I had a doctors appointment scheduled for Friday plus another appointment. I know, I could have rescheduled them, but the Doctor's appointment had been scheduled for

Pimp my Davey...

I told him that's not possible since he's already the best... but   So it's my birthday... the big three-oh.   I got a great e-card from Petey and a BUNCH of great birthday wishes, my sister left me a card on the door this morning, a birthday text from Dhruv and his family and friend My friend just dropped off a card that says, "With sympathy on the loss of your 20's" and some nonsense about it being all downhill from here. AND! I got these...     From Davey and Chris! They are S

I need advice . . .

Ok, lets say you're friends with someone for a very long time. He has always been there for you and all that and now you live together as roommates with another person. Now lets say there's a party at your house and you both get pretty tipsy and you end up . . . well . . . ever seen Gray's Anatomy? Yeah . . . so anyway, what happens now? The tension is still there but we haven't really talked about it. I mean it was an accident, I think. Like, it was the booze, right? It was really good though.

Putting my best foot forward

ok, so I know that I haven't been updating all of my stories as much as I should be. I only turned in one update for Staking My Claim this week, and I posted the collabo with Graeme and Yaalc. The reaction I've gotten for that has been mostly positive, especially some of the emails. They're very sweet, and I appreciate the support. I pounded out a new chapter of What's the Difference early this morning, but because of Padre's day, I haven't had time to do much else. I will say that a new chapt

WHAT A HECTIC WAY TO...

Turn the big three-oh-uh-oh.   So, a Father's Day dinner tomorrow, yay for sitting in traffic , then Monday, my daughter has her class trip to a water park out here all day, and then when she gets home, we have to continue the quest for the perfect graduation dress. Tuesday I have to be at work at 5 a.m. and then pick up the kids from school, and HOPEFULLY!!! we found the perfect dress on Monday night, cause otherwise it's happening Tuesday night. Then Wednesday is the big kinderga

indescribable...

I'm not gonna say much, cause honestly, I can't even think clearly right now to try and find the right words, and even if I could, I don't think there are any.   What I will say is, I'm so, SO glad that you are who you are today, and that I have the opportunity to know and love you. For that, I am thankful, and so lucky.   Love ya, Viv   PS. I knew I loved him before, because of you, but I love Sam!

Life is always so complicated

So Sam wants to know a couple of very important things: "Is Scott still going to Niagara Falls with us this weekend? "Is Scott still taking me night fishing for my birthday?" You see, THAT is one of the big problems with having a relationship (or trying to have one) when you have a kid. Your kid gets attached, too.   I don
