Watergame Chapter 34, A Story of Gay Love by Doug Spencer
It’s Thursday afternoon, June 7th, and the entire White family is excited, Julian is returning home today for the summer! Vi has placed a big pan of Lasagna, one of Julian’s favorite dinners, in the oven. Samantha, Eric and Dominic are playing in the yard, and Sam is watching the driveway, anxious to see Julian pull in. Jeff is watching the clock in the office at Corbin’s, which seems to be advancing at a much slower pace than normal—will quitting time ever arrive? Julian will likely arrive home a couple of hours before Jeff and Art can clock out and leave work.
About 4:00 PM Julian pulled into the yard and parked. Before he was even able to get out of the driver’s seat he was ambushed by Sam and Eric, with Dominic on their tails. Sharing hugs and kisses with his siblings, and even hugs from Eric, he finally was able to make it to the house and into the bathroom, seriously needing to relieve the pressure on his bladder. Exiting the bathroom, he shared a loving kiss and hug with Vi, happy to be home.
The next big event was Jeff and Art returning from work, and J&J’s emotional reunion. The two boys literally melted into each other’s arms, their separation had seemed like an eternity, but had actually only been less than two weeks, just since Memorial Day!
After dinner, Art announced the plans for a ‘Welcome Home’ dinner at the Flaming Hearth on Saturday evening. Being that this is a high-class restaurant, Art insisted that everyone ‘dress up’ appropriately. Only Vi, Art and Jeff know the real agenda for that evening. Vi hopes to catch Jeff’s proposal to Julian on camera, and wants the two boys to be dressed nicely.
Friday morning was a typical workday. J&J had coffee and breakfast with Vi and Art, and then Art and Jeff headed to work. The only thing Julian had planned for the day was to get the car unloaded and bring in his clothing and few other items and books he’d brought back from college, and stash them in his bedroom.
The bag with his soiled clothing he dropped by the hamper, next to the washer, to be laundered whenever Vi did laundry. No hurry, as he wouldn’t be taking them back to college until fall semester, starting in mid-August.
Eric Hanson, being best friends with Samantha, had become a regular fixture in the White’s home and often shared meals with Sam. Vi fixed breakfast for Sam, Eric and Dominic that morning.
Not having anything pressing, Julian split his time between chatting with Vi and playing with his siblings and Eric in the yard. Sam and Eric were on the Teeter-tauter and both got off. Sam walked to the edge of the yard, shoved her pants and underpants down, and squatted, tinkling on the grass, while Eric watched her. She then stood back up, facing Eric, and took her sweet time pulling her underpants and pants back up, allowing the grinning Eric to get a good view of her anatomy.
Eric then lowered his own pants and started to tinkle, with Sam watching intently. Eric held his little pecker between his thumb and forefinger, and wiggled it back and forth, making his stream into more of a spray and Sam giggled. Eric shook out those last couple of drops, and pulled his pants back up.
Julian grinned, having watched this tinkling encounter between these two nine-year-olds. Neither of these children seemed to be ashamed or embarrassed to tinkle in front of the other. As comfortable as these two are with each other’s anatomy, he sensed that they had likely investigated each other’s private parts more closely at some earlier time.
Julian suddenly recalled a birthday party he’d been invited to when he was about nine or maybe ten years old at Jasmine’s house. Jasmine was the Birthday Girl and had a playhouse in the back yard. Jasmine, and her friend Ashley, invited David and Julian to go back to the playhouse with them and play a special game.
What was the game? We’ll show you ours, if you show us yours. Julian grinned, reminiscing. Even then, Julian recalled being more interested in David’s white pecker, that was about an inch bigger than Julian’s, than he was in what the girls had to offer. Both girls were fascinated in fondling his and David’s pecker’s, and the two boys touched the girl’s bare pussy’s. None of them yet had started to grow any pubic hair.
Even today, that was the only time that Julian had ever touched a pussy. He, at nine or ten, was not yet aware of his sexuality. Just thinking about David’s nice white pecker caused Julian’s manhood to stiffen and he needed to adjust himself.
After Vi fixed them all some lunch and they ate, it was naptime. Sam and Eric lay together on Sam’s bed, cuddled closely, and sharing a pillow. Julian took Dominic to his bed, and spooned Dom, Julian’s arm around his little brother. Even Vi lay on her bed and dozed off for over an hour.
After dinner Friday evening, both J&J claimed to be super-tired and headed to bed even before Sam and Dom were put to bed for the night. Art grinned, suspecting that the boys were likely more super-horny than they were super-tired. Since Memorial Day weekend, the boys had not had a chance for any intimacy, and even over that weekend, the boys had been almost totally occupied by Sam and Dom or by Lenny.
In an unusual move, Julian not only closed the door, but also locked it, ensuring that no one could just walk in on them. The boys quickly stripped, and lay on the bed, making out. Both boys quickly became highly aroused, and Jeff was soon kneeling between Julian’s calves and nursing on Julian’s BBC. (Beautiful Black Cock)
"Baby," Julian spoke softly, "I haven’t released since the night we did that sixty-nine on the yacht. I’ve been saving it all for you!" Jeff didn’t respond, verbally, not wanting to pull off of Julian’s boyhood to speak. He could sense that Julian was fast approaching his orgasm, and he was anxious to taste his boyfriend’s love juice once again.
Julian quit breathing, holding his breath, as his body became rigid. A few more seconds, and his lungs released their air and, simultaneously, his orgasm approached, and he totally filled his boyfriends mouth with, likely, the biggest load he’d ever shot. Jeff pulled off, rolling the giant load of sweet tasty cream around in his mouth and finally swallowing it.
"Wow, baby!" Jeff remarked, "That wasn’t a snack, it was a full meal. Baby, you’re like good wine, you just taste better with age. Every time I drink your cream, it tastes better than the time before. I’m going to be totally honest, I haven’t had the strength you’ve had, and I have felt the need to get off. I have rubbed it off a couple of times since we last had sex, and I know I probably can’t feed you like you just fed me."
"It’s OK baby," Julian replied, "I understand, and I’ll be happy to take whatever you can give me, and I’m so ready for it!" The boys switched positions, and Julian started to work Jeff’s stiff manhood. Julian’s warm and expert mouth on Jeff’s cock felt absolutely wonderful, and Jeff was already starting to feel his orgasm approaching.
He’d had a few blowjobs from girls, before he fell in love with Julian, but Julian most definitely did a superior job, compared to any of those girls. Jeff is still a bit overwhelmed that he could actually fall so deeply in love with a boy. So much in love, that he is ready to marry this wonderful boy! Jeff can hardly wait until tomorrow night, when he will offer Julian the diamond ring! God, he prays that Julian will say ‘YES’.
Just thinking about a life with Julian and many more happy and exciting sexual encounters is causing his orgasm to come on quickly. Without a warning, Jeff’s manhood started to spurt ropes of creamy sperm into Julian’s anxious mouth, and Julian was more than pleased to taste his boyfriend’s donation, and swallow it. After Julian milked out the last dribbles of Jeff’s orgasm, the boys shared a passionate kiss, cuddled and fell asleep, tired, happy and sexually satisfied.
* * * * * * THE BARBER SHOP * * * * * *
Saturday morning J&J arose and made their way into the bathroom to relieve the bladder pressure that had accumulated overnight. Maybe because they had had sex just before going to sleep, they both were sporting only half-hard morning wood, and stood together tinkling into the toilet.
While washing their hands, they both were viewing their heads in the mirror and Julian mentioned that he was in serious need of a hair trim. Julian, following his Dad’s example, wears his hair neatly trimmed and close cut, typical of many African-American men and boys. If some of the hairs are an inch long, it’s too long! Jeff keeps his hair on the preppy side, but the hair on the back of his neck had grown too long, and he was feeling like the shaggy dog.
"I need a haircut too, baby," Jeff stated, "but my regular barber is back in Summerton. Maybe when we go to visit my family in July I can get into my barber’s shop."
"That’s a long ways to go for a haircut, baby," Julian stated, "why don’t you go with me to my barbers, and I’m sure they can give you a decent haircut. You live in Dunbar now, and you need to have a local barber."
Julian, right after they’d all finished eating, "Dad, I need to go to The Brother’s and get a haircut. I’m trying to get Jeff to go with me, but he’s hesitant. He seems to think that a black barber can’t give a white boy a decent haircut."
"Son," Art said, speaking to Jeff, "Admittedly, The Brother’s cater to the African-American community, but they do cut any man’s hair, and they’re not racist. I think you’ll be pleased with their work. They’ve cut my hair for the last twenty some years, and they’re the only barbers that have ever cut Julian’s."
"OK, Dad," Jeff replied, "I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Baby, shall we go get our ears lowered?"
"Wait!" Vi exclaimed, "I’ve tried to trim Dominic’s hair with just scissors, but I think he needs a professional haircut. Would you boys mind taking Dom with you, and get him a haircut too?"
"Mommy," Dom asked, "will it hurt?"
"No, Sweetheart," Vi replied, "it won’t hurt, and it will make you look even more handsome than you are already!" Dom smiled.
"If we’re taking Dom," Jeff said, "we need to put his car seat into my car, or Julian’s."
"Why don’t you just take the Pilot," Art said, "his car seat is already in it, and I don’t think we’ll need the Pilot for anything before you get back. Julian, leave your keys, just in case your Mom or I need to run out for anything," Julian is pleased, he loves to drive the Pilot, and doesn’t get too many chances to do so. He dropped his keys on the table,
Vi offered Dominic a last minute chance to tinkle, then dressed him in clean shorts and a tee shirt. J&J gathered up Dominic and secured him in the back seat and they headed to The Brother’s. Julian parked the Pilot, and the three boys entered ‘The Brother’s Barber Shop’ and took seats, Dom sitting between J&J.
* * * * * Just a little background about the brothers. * * * * *
Garth is the older of the two, and Grant the younger. Both boys had attended Barber’s School, and got their licenses, one year apart. Garth, originally worked at ‘Classic Cuts’ for about three years, and after his graduation, Grant worked at ‘The Hair Cuttery’ for about a year and a half.
The two brothers decided it would be to their advantage to open and run their own shop, rather than continue to work for bosses. They took out a loan, leased the storefront, where they are still located today, and opened ‘The Brother’s Barber Shop’. Garth and Grant have run their business successfully now for nearly twenty-five years. Since the first year of operation, they’ve never found it necessary to do much advertising. The business still grows, mostly by means of word of mouth. Happy customers do help a business to grow.
Garth and Grant treat everyone with honor and respect, and have occasionally even given free haircuts to a few of the homeless men, that didn’t have money to pay for the luxury of a haircut.
* * * * * Back to today * * * * *
Jeff was feeling just a bit uncomfortable, in this black owned and operated barbershop.
"Sir," Jeff asked, apprehensively, "do you cut white hair?" (meaning white men’s hair)
"Not often," Garth stated, grinning, "we mostly cut black, brown, red, blond or gray hair, but occasionally we get a client with white hair. We’ve even had a few boys with dyed Pink, Blue or Green hair." Garth’s warm and pleasant personality won Jeff over, and he immediately felt more comfortable.
"Julian," Garth asked, pointing toward Jeff, "Is this the young man you told us about, that you met at college?"
"Yes, Sir," Julian replied, smiling, "This is my boyfriend, Jeff Parks." Julian’s answer totally blew Jeff away. Jeff’s face turned red, and he was looking for a hole to hide in.
"Jeff," Garth stated, "I think you’ve snagged yourself a winner! I’ve known Julian for a long time and he’s a wonderful young man. He’d be a prize for any young man to love." So Garth knows something about Julian that Jeff wasn’t aware of.
"And who is this young man you dragged in here?" Garth asked.
"He’s my youngest sibling, Dominic," Julian replied, "and he’s getting his first real haircut today."
Grant, accepting payment from his previous client, "My chair is open, which one of you is next?"
"I’ll be your guinea pig," Jeff said, climbing into Grant’s chair.
"Let’s do your brother first," Garth said, placing a board across the arms of his chair, to make Dom higher, and Julian lifted Dom up into the chair, sitting him on the board. Dom started to whine and fuss.
"It’s OK, Dom," Julian assured Dom, "this man is just going to trim your hair, and make you look prettier. I won’t let him hurt you, and I’ll be right here."
"I sense that Dominic has some Hispanic blood?" Garth asked.
"Yeah," Julian replied, "Mom and Dad adopted him and his sister, and they had a common black mother. His sister’s father was white and his father was Puerto Rican."
"Typical product of a mixed couple," Garth commented, "the offspring seem to get the best traits of both parents. I know that you’re the product of an interracial marriage, and that’s why you’re such a stunningly cute and attractive young man!"
Garth’s comment caused Julian to blush, but irritated Jeff. Was Garth making a pass at Jeff’s boyfriend?
"My boyfriend loves me," Julian responded, smiling, "and that’s what’s most important to me." Jeff grinned.
"I don’t know how we should style Dominic’s hair?" Garth asked, "It’s black, like ours, but very soft, probably from his Hispanic traits. Should we style it like a black boy, or like a Hispanic boy?"
"He’s only four," Julian replied, "I think treating him like a black boy would be appropriate, since his Daddy and his big brother are both black. When he gets older, he can decide if he wants to wear it more like a Hispanic style."
"One handsome little black boy, coming up," Garth stated. Garth cut Dominic’s hair as an African-American, and finished him off about the same time that Grant finished with Jeff. Julian lifted Dom off the chair, and stood him on the floor.
Dominic, his hand at his crotch, "I gotta tinkle!"
Garth, pointing to a curtain at the back of the shop, "The bathroom is back there."
"I’ll take Dom to the bathroom, baby," Jeff stated, while Julian sat in Garth’s chair, ready to receive his own haircut. "Come on, Dom." Dom took Jeff’s hand, and Jeff led Dom to the back, and through the curtain.
Grant, when Jeff and Dom returned, "How is your cut?"
Jeff, looking in the mirror, "It’s perfect, Grant! I guess I now have a barber here in Dunbar. I’ll be back in three or four weeks for a repeat!" Grant smiled. This is how the brothers build their business. Jeff paid Grant for the haircut, gave him a $5.00 tip, and sat with Dominic on his lap to wait for Garth to finish with Julian.
When Julian was finished, he paid Garth for his and Dom’s haircuts, giving, Garth a ten for a tip. Garth gave Julian an affectionate hug, which bothered Jeff a bit.
Jeff, on the way home, "Baby, you sure aren’t very discrete, about our relationship."
"It’s OK, Jeff," Julian replied, "Garth is one of us."
"How do you know," Jeff inquired, "he told you?"
"Nope!" Julian explained. "A couple of years ago I was in for a haircut, and when Garth finished with the man in his chair, and the man stood, he and Garth shared a hug and kiss. The man said, ‘When will you be home, Baby?’ and Garth told him. The man then said ‘I’ll have our dinner ready, and then we can head to the city for some fun.’ Then Garth said ‘Cool, Sweetheart, Luv Ya!’"
"We chatted while Garth was cutting my hair," Julian continued, "and I told him about you and me, and we kinda came out to each other. He told me that he and his lover had been together for about five years."
"Is Grant gay too?" Jeff asked.
"Nope," Julian stated, "he’s married and got two rug rats. By the way, Garth’s lover, if they’re still together, is a white man. Kinda like you and me."
"Baby," Jeff said, "I don’t even think of you as a black boy, I just think of you as the boy that I’m crazy in love with! And to think it all started, because of a silly Watergame! If Levi hadn’t dragged you to that Watergame, I may have never met you and fallen in love with you. God bless Levi!"
When the boys returned to the house, they were met with the fantastic aroma of Vi’s homemade kettle of soup. Dom was a bit apprehensive of his new haircut, missing the locks of soft hair that had previously decorated his head. Vi and Art telling Dom how handsome he was with his new haircut brought a smile to his face. Dom loves to be complemented, almost as much as he loves the affection he gets from everyone. Vi quietly ladled a small bowl of soup for Dom, setting it out to cool, while she finished making a plate full of cold meatloaf sandwiches to complement the soup.
Sometime in the last few months, Art had removed the tray from Dom’s highchair. Now that Dom was four, he still used the chair, but now sat at the table with everyone else, no longer needing the tray part of the chair.
Vi announced that lunch was served, and the family all grabbed chairs and prepared to eat lunch. Vi had ladled bowls of the hot soup and set them around the table, and placed the small, cooled- off bowl in front of Dom’s chair.
The family finished eating lunch about 1:30 PM and J&J went out to the yard to entertain Sam and Dom, as it was still a bit early to start getting ready for their ‘Welcome Home’ dinner at the Flaming Hearth. Jeff was anxious for the afternoon to go by more quickly. Only Jeff, Art and Vi were aware of Jeff’s plans for their dinner. Vi had already slipped the digital camera into her purse, planing to capture a precious moment later that evening.
Art had previously reserved a table for six under the White name for 6:00 PM at the Flaming Hearth, and informed the owner, John Lacy, that it was a really special occasion, and would be entailing a Marriage Proposal. John told Art that he would reserve his most appropriate location for them.
Vi had called the florist, and had a special centerpiece delivered to the Flaming Hearth for the White’s reservation at 6:00 PM. Vi and Art wanted to make this night be as special as it could possibly be. It’s not every day that your son receives a marriage proposal!
About 3:00 PM, Vi gave Samantha and Dominic their bath, bathing them together. Nothing special, they’d been bathed together many times, and had never seemed overly interested in each other’s anatomy. Sam had not yet started to develop growth in her breasts and was well aware that boys have a penis. She is somewhat fascinated in seeing a boys penis, even Dominic’s two- inch long one. She knows better than to touch it, especially if Mommy is watching!
J&J entered the bathroom, wearing only their boxers, and waited patiently while Vi dried the younger siblings, ready to drop them and shower together, as usual. Both J&J had been privileged at times to give both youngsters their baths, and of course had experienced giving Samantha her bath, neither of them ever being interested in any girl’s anatomy.
About 4:30 J&J both walked out of the bathroom with towels wrapped around their waists, and headed to their bedroom to dress in suits and ties, for a change. Art got dressed in his suit while Vi dressed Samantha in one of her prettiest dresses, and he then dressed Dom in the new red suit that Vi had recently purchased for him, while Vi got dressed in her (only) lady’s suit.
It was almost 5:30 when the family boarded the Pilot, ready to go to the Flaming Hearth. Jeff secured Dom in his car seat and rode with him in the back seat, while Julian shared the back, back seat with Samantha, making sure she was buckled in.
After arriving at the Flaming Hearth, Jeff casually opened the glove compartment and retrieved the precious little blue box, and stashed it into his suit jacket pocket, unobserved by Julian.
* * * * * * THE PROPOSAL * * * * * *
The White family entered the restaurant, and the hostess cheerfully escorted them to their reserved table, which was located in a rather private area. It was like a small room, with walls on three sides and the fourth side open to the main dining area. The large round table would likely seat eight to ten people comfortably, and in the center of the table was the lovely centerpiece that Vi had ordered.
The hostess informed them that Frankie would be their server, and should be with them shortly. Art asked her if they had a highchair for Dominic, and she nodded an affirmative and left to get it. Art observed a security camera pointed at their table and thought it was an unusual location for a security camera, dismissing the thought.
Frankie, approaching their table with the hi-chair, "Hi, I’m Frankie, and I’ll be happy to be your server tonight. Where would you like to place this?"
Vi, pulling out a chair next to where she planned to sit, "I think right here." Frankie pulled the chair away from the table, and placed the hi-chair in its place.
"Little man," Frankie stated, "we’ve got a special chair here, just for you!" Frankie lifted Dominic up, and sat him in the hi-chair. "What a handsome little man he is," Frankie remarked. Quite surprisingly, Dom didn’t fuss at all, he seemed to like Frankie. Vi sat next to Dom and Art sat directly across from Vi, with Sam sitting between Art and Dom. J&J sat together, of course, across from the children, between Art and Vi.
After Frankie took the drink orders, and leaving their table, he leaned over by Dom, and kissed Dom on his forehead and Dom smiled. Like almost everyone that meets Dom, Frankie has fallen in love with Dom!
When Frankie took their dinner orders, Vi ordered kiddie meals for the children and a regular dinner for herself. Art and J&J ordered for themselves. The family totally enjoyed their meal together, and Frankie gave them his best service. After finishing the food, Art, Vi and the boys decided on after-dinner coffee. It was time!
Jeff rose from the table, and Vi instinctively also rose, camera in hand, and stepped back a few feet, seeming like she was just taking a photo of the family. Jeff pulled the tiny box from his pocket, and dropped to one knee, facing Julian.
Jeff, removing the ring from the box, "Julian, my love, I can’t keep my desires hidden any longer. Will you accept this token of my undying love for you, and become my loving husband?" Jeff slipped the ring on Julian’s third finger of his left hand.
Julian lost it—tears were streaming down his face. He brought the ring up to his lips and kissed it.
"Jeff," Julian asked, shocked, and uncertain, "is this for real?
"As real as day and night, Sweetheart," Jeff replied, "There has never been anyone I’ve cared for, more than I care for you. Please, just say ‘Yes’ and I’ll be the happiest boy in the world!"
"YES JEFF!" Julian yelled. "I would love to marry you!" The two boys fell into a tight embrace, and shared a passionate kiss, even stronger and more passionate than ever before. Vi and Art glanced at each other and smiled. The owners of The Flaming Hearth approached the family.
"Folks," John Lacy stated, "this is my partner, Renaldo Bengosi. We would like to thank you for allowing us to witness the most beautiful marriage proposal we’ve ever seen."
"We’ve tried to make The Flaming Hearth into a place inducive to romance and love. Over the few years that we’ve operated this restaurant, we’ve witnessed a number of Wedding Proposals, but none have touched us the way that this one did."
"You see, many of our regular patrons are aware that John and I are business partners," Renaldo stated, "but few know that we are also Domestic Partners, and husbands. Seeing the commitment and love that these two young men share, filled our hearts with joy. We may have a surprise for you."
"You see that camera?" John stated, (pointing to what Art had thought was a security camera) "We recorded a video of your entire dinner tonight, including that wonderful and emotional proposal. There is also a hidden microphone in the centerpiece, so not only do we have the video, but also the audio of this memorable occasion. It may take us a few days, but we can make a copy for you on DVD, that you can keep for posterity. Consider it a gift, for choosing to have this event at The Flaming Hearth."
"Guys," Renaldo asked, "Have you set a Wedding Date yet?"
"No, Sir," Jeff replied, "but we want to do it this summer, before Julian goes back to Brighton University for his senior year. I’ll be so proud to watch my HUSBAND walk across that stage next June to receive his degree!" Julian smiled.
"I don’t know how big your guest list will be," Renaldo stated, "but we also do catering, and we can cater a function like a wedding reception for up to about fifty people. When you decide on a date, let’s get together, and maybe we can cater your reception. We can also do the cake. Unlike some of these snobby bakery’s, we don’t have an issue with two brides or two grooms on the top of the cake."
Art paid the sizeable tab, and handed Frankie a $30 cash tip for his splendid service, causing him to smile broadly, and Frankie thanked him graciously. As the family walked out toward the Pilot Frankie followed them.
"Guys," Frankie stated, "If I give you my address, could you maybe invite me to your wedding? I would love to watch you guy’s tie the knot, and I’ve never been to a gay wedding. I hope to someday meet the right boy that wants to marry me."
"Jeff, smiling, "You got it Frankie, we’ll put you at the top of the list, right under our family." Frankie reached into his apron pocket, retrieving a freshly written note, and handed it to Jeff. "Frankie Styles, huh? When we set the date, we’ll be happy to send you an invitation, and good luck finding that boyfriend!" J&J both gave Frankie a warm and affectionate hug.
Frankie returned inside and the family returned home, now with an engaged couple on board in the Pilot. Julian loved the ring, and is feeling very proud to wear the symbol of Jeff’s love. Once Julian had realized that he was gay, and accepted it as a fact, he has never been very secretive of his sexuality. And now he and Jeff are fiancés! He couldn’t be any happier than he is today.
That Saturday night, as Vi was tucking Samantha into her bed, Sam caught her totally off guard.
"Mommy," Sam asked, "how can two brothers marry each other?"
"I don’t think they can Sweetheart," Vi replied, "What prompted that question?"
"Tonight, Jeff asked Julian to marry him," Sam explained, "And Julian agreed to marry Jeff. If they’re both my brothers, that means that Jeff and Julian are also brothers."
"Oh, Sweetie," Vi said, "I see why you’re confused. Julian is our boy, and since your Daddy and I adopted you and Dominic, that makes Julian a brother to you and Dom. Julian and Jeff were like best friends, and they fell in love with each other. Do you know what same-sex couples are?"
"Yeah, kinda," Sam replied, "That’s like Christine and Leroy have two Mommies. If Jeff and Julian marry, and have children, their kids would have two Daddies. We were taught in school that not all families have a Mommy and a Daddy. Usually boys like girls, and girls like boys, but sometimes girls like girls and boys like boys. It’s called divers—divers—diverse—something."
"Is diversity the word you’re looking for?" Vi asked.
"Yeah, that’s it, diversity," Sam stated, "and our family is diversity too, because my Mommy is white and my Daddy is black. I know you both love me and Dom and I wouldn’t want to change anything. I love you Mommy, and I love Daddy too. So if Jeff isn’t my brother, what is he—to me?"
"Well, right now he is your brother’s boyfriend, actually, that’s not right anymore. Since Jeff and Julian are now engaged to marry, that would make them fiancé’s. The day they get married, Jeff will become your brother-in-law, and your Mommy and Daddy’s son-in-law. Your Daddy and I have just as much love for Jeff as we do Julian, and we usually think of him also as our son."
"That’s probably the reason we’ve tended to refer to both Julian and Jeff as your big brothers," Vi explained. "It was easier to call them both your brothers, than to call Jeff your brother’s boyfriend. I hope I’ve answered your question in a way that you understand."
"Thanks, Mommy," Sam stated, "I’m so glad that you and Daddy made Dom and me your forever kids. We don’t have to wonder or worry anymore what our next parents might be like. I think I can go to sleep now, Goodnight, Mommy."
"Goodnight, Sweetheart," Vi said, as she tucked Sam in, and gave her a loving kiss on her forehead. Vi is hoping that she has laid Sam’s concerns to rest.
While Vi was putting Sam to bed, and they were having their discussion, the men all settled in the living room to watch some TV for a while before heading to bed. Jeff had grabbed the recliner, and Julian was on the sofa with Art.
Art had prepared Dom for bed, taking Dom to the bathroom for a last chance tinkle before pulling on a new pair of huggies, and zippering him into his sleep suit. Dom had crawled up into the recliner with Jeff, and fallen asleep on Jeff’s shoulder, with Jeff’s arm securing him.
Vi entered the living room and a smile appeared on her face, seeing Dom asleep on Jeff’s shoulder. Neither one of the boys ever run out of affection for Dom, and they both treat him like a little King. Vi motioned to Jeff to bring Dom to his crib, and Jeff carefully rose out of the recliner, not wishing to disturb Dom’s sleep. After carefully laying Dom in his crib, Vi and Jeff returned to the living room, joining Art and Julian.
"I hate to bring this up," Vi stated, "but I think we have a growth problem. Little Dominic is growing like a weed, and he’s already outgrown his crib. He has figured out how to lower the side rail, and gets out by himself, without our help! He really needs a twin bed, but I don’t know where we could put it."
"Well," Art said, "a twin bed won’t fit where his crib is now, and there isn’t room in Julian’s room for it. There might be room in Sam’s bedroom, but I don’t want Sam and Dom to have to share their bedroom. I think we are lacking a bedroom in this house."
"I may have a solution," Jeff stated, "Sam took over the guestroom and that room is larger than ours. Suppose we let Sam take over Julian’s bedroom, and we can take Sam’s bedroom. With a little re-arrangement, we could put Dom’s twin bed in our room, and make that the boy’s room, for all of us boys."
Julian, grinning, "Jeff and I might have to use some discretion, but, I think I speak for both of us, we really wouldn’t mind sharing our room with Dominic." Jeff was nodding and smiling in agreement.
"It would mostly be only for the summer," Jeff stated, "as Julian will be returning to campus in August, and I’ll be sleeping alone in bed. After Julian graduates, we’ll probably want to try and get our own place to live, anyway." The family seemed to be in agreement with Jeff’s suggestion, and are prepared to do some moving soon.
* * * * JULIAN’S ‘IT’ TRAINING COMES IN HANDY * * * *
Sunday morning, June 12th, while Vi prepared breakfast for the family, an excited Julian was occupied doing technical things. He uploaded the photos that Vi had taken the night before at the Flaming Hearth onto the family desktop computer. He then emailed the romantic photo of Jeff, on his knee, asking him to marry to his own phone. He then took a close-up of his left hand, centering on the diamond, onto his phone.
Next, he sent out two text messages, one to Uncle Jim, and one to his best friend, Levi, attaching the two photos to each text, with the simple message ‘I’m engaged!’ Within two or three minutes, Julian’s phone rang, it was Levi, and Julian answered with "Hi, Levi, did you get the photos I sent you?"
"I sure did, Sweetheart," Levi excitedly replied, "I’m so happy and excited for you, I’m about to pee my pants! That’s a beautiful diamond, when is the big day?"
"We’re still working on the details, as to where and when," Julian stated, "but when I return to campus, I’ll be a happily married man!"
"Julian," Levi asked, "Can we still be dormmates for our senior year?"
"We can," Julian replied, smiling, "if you don’t mind rooming with an old married man!"
Levi, chuckling, "I don’t mind at all, you’re still the best dormmate that I’ve ever had. I always knew that you and Jeff were destined to be together. I would hope that you will honor me with an invitation to your Wedding."
"Text me your address, and I’ll put you on our list. We’d be honored to have you attend our wedding."
"Great," Levi replied, "I’ll text my home address after we hang up, and please relay my congratulations to Jeff. You two will make some handsome husbands! Bye for now, and I’ll be looking for that Wedding Invitation."
Julian, as he and Levi hung up, "Guess what, baby, Levi wants to attend our wedding!"
"I think we owe him that," Jeff stated. "Levi is one of the coolest guys I know, and one of the few that have really supported us. If it wasn’t for Levi, I may have never met you and fallen in love with you. He’s probably the best straight friend that we have, and I have nothing but love and respect for Levi." Jeff’s phone rang, and it was Uncle Jim, Jeff answered it ‘Hi Uncle Jim’.
"Hi there," Jim stated, "just checking up on our newly engaged nephews, have you two managed to get your feet back down on Mother Earth yet?"
Jeff, snickering, "Just about, how did you like the photos?"
"So you finally got the balls to ask the big question," Jim replied. "I have to assume, seeing that piece of beautiful hardware that’s on Julian’s finger, that he agreed to your proposal. Have you guys set a date yet?"
"The date and place are still to be decided, but we want to be married when Julian returns to Brighton in mid-August."
"Cal and I can’t wait to see that ring, up close and personal. Are you boys still planning to come our way over the Fourth?" Jim asked.
"You bet we are," Jeff stated, "we’re both excited to get to meet our new cousin, and, of course, show off Julian’s ring! Isn’t it amazing that a little three-letter word could make me the happiest boy in Dunbar, hell, maybe in the whole damn state! How is Dayton adjusting to his new home, and family?"
"I think that, for Cal and me, finding Dayton was nothing short of a miracle. He seems to have no reservations about having two Dads, and I think Cal and I have both stolen pieces of his heart. Just for the few days that Dayton as been an important asset to our family, it’s almost like he has always been a part of our family. I think that Cal and I are truly blessed to have that incredible young man in our lives, I just couldn’t imagine our life, without Dayton."
"Just curious," Jeff asked, "what do you do with Dayton while you and Uncle Cal are at work?"
"You might want to put your phone on speaker, so everyone can hear." Jeff put his phone on speaker. "We lucked out, with some very good and very helpful neighbors," Jim said, "Let me tell you about Mandy and Ozzie. The day we arrived with Dayton, out of nowhere, Ozzie approached us. We’d seen Ozzie occasionally, walking on the street, but had never really met him. For whatever reason, Ozzie took an interest in Dayton, and the two seemed to have an immediate liking for each other."
"Ozzie is a tall, lanky 16-year old, about six feet tall. He told us he only lived two doors over, and wanted to be friends with Dayton. Cal and I could hardly object, as Dayton was brand new to the neighborhood, and had literally no friends, and Ozzie seemed to be quite a nice and friendly boy, and just two years older than Dayton."
"Well," Jim continued, "Ozzie was very helpful, helping Cal and I carry Dayton’s clothing and what little else he had into the house, and into Dayton’s room. He then pushed Dayton’s wheelchair up the ramp and into the house, with Dayton in it. He bumped fists with Dayton, told him that his Mom probably had dinner ready, and that he would see him tomorrow."
"Cal and I changed our work schedules, one of us going in late on Mondays, and the other late on Thursdays, the days that Dayton has his Physical Therapy. One of us needs to take him to PT those days."
"I’ll tell you more of the details when you come to visit over the Fourth," Jim explained, "but cutting it short, we’ve hired both Ozzie and his Mom, Mandy, to help care for Dayton while we’re working. It might not be so rough after school starts, as Dayton will be in school most of the day."
"Uncle Jim," Jeff explained, "Julian is free for the summer, until he returns to Brighton for fall semester. We’re planning to leave Dunbar Saturday morning, July 2nd, and spending Saturday night, Sunday and Monday with our Summerton family, and I’m taking a personal day off Tuesday, July 5th, to drive back to Dunbar. I’m hoping Julian and I can take Dayton out on Monday to share some of the festivities, and fireworks that night."
"I’m sure you won’t need to twist his arm," Jim stated, "He’s as anxious to meet his cousins as his cousins are to meet him! Keep me abreast of any changes, and we’ll look forward to seeing you sometime on Saturday afternoon July 2nd." Jeff and Jim hung up.
"Gosh, baby," Julian stated, "I can’t wait to meet Dayton
"Boys," Art stated, "I think you’ve got your work cut out for you. It’s not going to be a piece of cake to find a minister that will marry a same sex couple, and probably even harder to find a church that would allow the ceremony within its walls. Finding the minister will be like looking for the needle in the hay stack."
"Maybe we could get Pastor Scott," Jeff suggested, "the minister that married Uncle Jim and Uncle Cal, to marry us. I don’t know if he’d be willing to come here to do the ceremony, though, because he’s in Summerton."
"Maybe," Vi stated, "you guys might need to decide WHERE you want to get married, before you try to find a preacher. Jeff, do you think your family would want to attend your wedding?"
"I know that Uncle Jim and Uncle Cal would," Jeff replied, "my Mom and Dad don’t even know we’re engaged yet. I suppose I should call them, and give them the news. I think my Dad will want to attend, and Mom has come a long way in her thinking. My Mom and Uncle Cal’s sister, Sasha, made most of the final arrangements for Jim and Cal’s wedding. I guess I need to contact my parents, and feel them out."
"Baby," Julian stated, "since our home base is here, I think I’d like for us to get married here in Dunbar."
"Decisions, decisions," Jeff said, "It might be easier for my parents to make the trip here, since they don’t have small children to worry about. Mom, Dad, do you think that maybe Dominic would like to be our Ring Bearer?"
"Daddy," Dominic asked, "What’s a ring bear?" Everyone grinned.
"Oh, boy," Art said, "here goes. Dom, when two people love each other they sometimes decide to get married. They have a special event, called a Wedding, where the two people promise to love and care for each other, for life. Your Mommy and I made that promise many years ago. To show that we’ve made that promise, we gave each other Wedding Rings. See this golden ring on my finger, and your Mommy also has one, just like it." Vi showed Dominic her band of gold.
"During the wedding ceremony," Art explained, "the two people getting married, promise to love each other for life, and place Wedding Rings on each others fingers. Usually a younger person, usually a young boy, carries the rings on a pillow to the altar, and he is called the Ring Bearer. Jeff and Julian are getting married, and have asked if you would like to be the boy that carries the rings to the altar, during the ceremony."
Dominic, grinning, "YEP!" one of Dom’s favorite words.
"Well guys," Art said, smiling, "I guess you boys have a Ring Bearer, now you need to find a minister, and a place to have the ceremony, and select a date for the Wedding."
"Baby, I’m good with us getting married here in Dunbar," Jeff said. "I’m gonna place some weight on your shoulders. Since you know the area better than I, and with my work schedule, you have more free time during business hours. I’m going to ask you to contact the churches around Dunbar, and see if you can find us a minister that will marry us."
"OK, Baby," Julian replied, smiling, "I’ll start searching tomorrow, while you’re at work." Jeff smiled, and gave Julian a thumb up.
* * * * * * JULIAN’S SEARCH FINDS SUCCESS! * * * * * *
Shortly after Jeff got to work on Monday morning, June 11th, Alvin couldn’t help notice that Jeff’s mood was elevated, and Jeff was wearing a constant smile on his face.
"Jeff," Alvin stated, "It looks like you had a really great weekend."
"Oh, I did, Alvin," Jeff replied, smiling, "I finally got the nerve to pop the big question, and Julian said ‘YES!’"
Alvin, smiling and giving Jeff a warm hug, "Congratulations Jeff, I’m really happy for you two, when is the big day?"
"We’re not sure yet," Jeff said, "Julian is going out today to try and find us a minister, and we want to get married before Julian returns to college in mid-August for his senior year. It’ll likely be sometime in late July or early August. I’d like to take my vacation and combine it with our honeymoon."
"So," Alvin stated, smiling, "my Office Manager is now an engaged man! I was planning to hire an office temp to cover your vacation time anyway, so let me know a little ahead when you plan your Wedding, and I WILL be expecting an invitation! The Mrs. and I have never attended a gay wedding, and it’ll be a treat for both of us."
That same Monday morning, Julian left the White’s home about 9:00 AM, dressed casually, to start his search for that needle in the haystack. About 9:20 he parked at the United Methodist Church, and walked into the church office, and greeted by the secretary.
"Good morning young man," the secretary said, "how may I help you?"
Julian, nervously, "I’d like to talk to the pastor, about a possible Wedding Ceremony."
"Sure," she said, "Pastor Cady has someone in his office right now, but if you will take a seat, he will see you next." Julian sat in one of the chairs available. A few minutes later, the pastor, and another man came out of his office, and the pastor greeted Julian.
"Good morning, young man, I’m Pastor Will Cady, most of the parishioners just call me Pastor Will, and you are?"
"Julian White, Sir," Julian stated.
"Come into my office, Julian, and we can chat," Pastor Will said, and Julian followed him into the office, sitting on a chair in front of the pastor’s big desk.
"Emily told me you want to discuss a Wedding Ceremony," Pastor Will stated, "It would be preferable if you would have brought the young lady with you, so she would be aware of our discussion."
"That’s part of our dilemma, Sir," Julian stated, "My fiancé is a most wonderful young man. We’re in search of a minister that would be willing to marry us."
"WHOA!" Pastor Will exclaimed, "You’re suggesting a same sex marriage?"
"Yes, Sir," Julian replied.
"I can tell you, up front," Pastor Will explained, "Church Doctrine would never permit that kind of Wedding to be allowed within these walls, and I personally could never condone the marriage of two people of the same sex, due to my personal beliefs."
"I understand," Julian replied, "Could you maybe suggest a church, or a pastor, that I might contact that may be willing to help us?"
"Maybe," Pastor Will stated, "we have a young Associate Pastor, Pastor Eddie Hamilton, that has some more—progressive thoughts. Eddie has been pushing for this Church to welcome members of the LGBT community. As licensed ministers, we can perform a marriage at any location, but this church is off limits for a same-sex marriage. If you would you like to speak with him, I can set you up an appointment for tomorrow morning."
"Sure," Julian replied, "What time would be best?"
Pastor Will, checking the scheduler on the computer, "Would 9:00 AM work for you?"
"That will be fine," Julian replied, "I’ll be here at 9:00." Julian is now looking forward to his appointment with Pastor Eddie on Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM. Maybe, just maybe, Pastor Eddie will be willing to marry him and Jeff. After a departing handshake with Pastor Will, Julian returned home.
That night, while the White family had dinner, Julian informed everyone that he had an appointment with Pastor Eddie the next morning at 9:00 AM, and maybe may have found a minister.
Tuesday morning Julian got up with Jeff and had coffee and breakfast with Vi and Art. He is excited, and doesn’t want to be late for his appointment with Pastor Eddie. Art and Jeff left for work as usual, about 7:20 AM, and Jeff, while kissing his baby goodbye, wished him good luck with his meeting. Julian left the house about 8:30 and headed for the UMC (United Methodist Church) to meet with Pastor Eddie.
Julian parked at UMC about 8:50 and tried the office door and found it still locked. A sign on the door stated the church office would be open at 9:00 AM. He returned to his car, and watched to see when someone might arrive to open it. Finally, just before 9:00 AM, he observed Emily and a younger man, close to his age, unlock the door and enter the office. Julian walked into the office right behind them.
"Are you Julian?" The young man asked.
"I am," Julian stated, offering his hand, "Julian White."
"Pleased to meet you," the young man said, shaking Julian’s hand warmly, "I’m Pastor Eddie Hamilton, lets go into the office." Julian followed Eddie into the Pastor’s office, and sat down across the desk from Eddie, who sat in the minister’s chair.
"Pastor Will gave me a heads-up about you," Eddie stated. "I think we’re close in age, and I’m comfortable if you just call me ‘Eddie’ without the ‘Pastor’ prefix. I understand you and your boyfriend are looking for a minister to marry you?"
"I don’t think we’re boyfriends anymore," Julian stated, holding his left hand proudly out toward Eddie, "as of last Saturday night, we are now fiancées." Eddie gazed at the Diamond on Julian’s hand, feeling a twinge of jealousy.
"That’s a beautiful engagement ring," Eddie stated, "this is the first time I’ve seen a men’s engagement ring. Julian, I think that Pastor Will explained that we cannot host a same-sex wedding within the walls of this church, but as a licensed minister, I can officiate at a same-sex wedding, at a location other than the church."
"We haven’t yet chosen a date or location for our Wedding," Julian said, "we felt that securing a minister should be the first step."
"Julian, I’m going to be totally up front and honest with you," Eddie said, "I’m pretty fresh out of Seminary, and I have yet to perform my first Wedding Ceremony. I really would like to have a meeting with both you and your fiancé, before I can agree to marry you. Can we do that?"
"Jeff works on Mondays through Fridays, that’s why I’m doing the groundwork. Could the meeting be in the evening, like maybe tomorrow evening?"
"Tomorrow is Wednesday, and I have to be here to help with the Wednesday evening service. Perhaps Thursday would work, say about 7:00 PM, here at this office?"
"Sure, we can do that," Julian replied, smiling.
"Julian, I will see you and your fiancé about 7:00 on Thursday evening," Eddie confirmed, "and I’m really looking forward to meeting your boy! It might help if you and he can decide on a date, and get a location determined for your wedding. I’ll see you and Jeff on Thursday evening."
Julian offered his hand, and Eddie surprised him with a really warm and sincere hug. Julian has quickly developed a close feeling, and a liking for Eddie, and is now looking forward to his and Jeff’s meeting with Pastor Eddie.
Tuesday evening, Julian shared the subject of his meeting with Jeff, and told him that Pastor Eddie wanted to meet with both boys on Thursday evening. Julian also explained to Jeff about Church Doctrine, and that they still needed to determine a date, and find a location to have their wedding.
Jeff, studying the calendar, "Baby, how about Saturday, August 4th, for the date? I can take the week of August 6th for my vacation and our honeymoon. We’ll still have a few days to get used to married life, and we’ll be back in plenty of time before you need to be back on campus."
"I like that," Julian replied, smiling, "today is June 12th, so that gives us about six weeks to find a location for the wedding, and make plans."
"Jeff," Vi stated, "I need to have your Mom’s phone number, so we mother’s can get this thing together. We can’t trust you boys to make all the plans!"
Jeff, grinning, "I’ll do that, Mom, but please wait until after we get back from the Fourth of July weekend. I haven’t broken the news to Mom and Dad yet, and I’m planning on doing that while we’re in Summerton over the Fourth. You’ll still have almost four weeks to make plans before our wedding." Vi smiled.
Wednesday morning, June 13th Jeff opened the office as usual, silenced the alarm and fired up the computer system. Alvin had a business meeting that morning and didn’t arrive until about 10:00 AM. Jeff welcomed Alvin when he walked in.
"Good morning, Jeff," Alvin said, "how are the wedding plans coming along?"
"Slow but sure," Jeff replied, "Julian had a meeting with a Pastor Eddie at the UMC yesterday morning, and thinks we may have a minister. Pastor Eddie wants to have a meeting with both Julian and me tomorrow evening. We have decided on the date of August 4th, but we still need to secure a location for the wedding."
"You’re not having the wedding at the church?" Alvin asked.
"The church has some antiquated church doctrine, and will not allow same-sex weddings to be performed within the church. I probably should ask now, if I may take my vacation the week of August 6th, so we can combine my vacation with our honeymoon."
"Not a problem at all." Alvin stated, "I’ll mark that on my calendar right now, and make arrangements to hire an office temp to cover you. I doubt I would be able to find a temp that would be as efficient as you, but she could cover some of it. You know, Jeff, you’re a pretty valuable part of our operation, and I’ll miss my right hand while you’re gone."
"Thank you Alvin," Jeff replied, "and thank you for the complement."
"Jeff," Alvin stated, "I might be able to help you guys in another way. I’m a member of the VFW, and we have a large meeting room in the front of our hall that can seat about 100 people. Sometimes we rent it out for special events. The hall also has a sizeable parking lot with room for about 50 cars. If I were to rent the hall for August 4th, for your wedding, would that be an acceptable wedding gift?"
"Would it!" Jeff exclaimed, smiling, "That would be an awesome gift! It would help us out financially, and also eliminate our search for a location for the wedding."
"Our monthly meeting will be tomorrow night, while you and Julian are meeting with the preacher." Alvin stated, "August 4th is still about six weeks away, and I expect the hall will not already be reserved for anything. If that date is available, I’ll go ahead and reserve the hall for you. I can give you a definite answer by Friday morning."
On Thursday evening Vi made sure dinner was ready by 6:00 PM, knowing that J&J had a 7:00 PM meeting with Pastor Eddie. J&J ate quickly and left the house about 6:30, headed to UMC for their meeting with Pastor Eddie. They pulled into the church parking lot, parked and walked to the office door, finding it locked.
"I guess Eddie’s not here yet," Julian said, "let’s wait in the car and hope he shows up soon." They returned to the car, and about five minutes later another car pulled beside them and parked, and Eddie exited the car. "That’s Eddie," Julian stated, as J&J both then exited Julian’s car.
Eddie, approaching J&J, "Hi guys, I’m sorry, I guess I’m a couple of minutes late. Julian, good to see you again," giving Julian a warm hug. "And I guess this is Jeff, I’m Eddie Hamilton, Associate Pastor, and I’m really happy to meet you. I know that’s an age old cliche, but I am really happy to meet you." Smiling, he also gave Jeff a warm and welcome hug. "Let’s go into the office, where we can talk, privately." J&J followed Eddie into the church office, and into the pastor’s office. J&J instinctively sat in the two chairs across the desk from Eddie.
"It needs to be understood," Eddie stated, "that whatever we discuss here today needs to be kept on the QT, and just between us three. The congregation in this church is very old school and ultra conservative. If they found out that I officiated in a gay marriage, even outside of the Church, they’d be ready to ride me out of town on a rail! Can we agree to a pledge of secrecy?"
"Of course," Jeff replied, "Pastor Will told Julian that any minister could perform a marriage ceremony, even a same-sex marriage, if it isn’t inside of this church. We’ve relegated to the likelihood that a church wedding is out of the question, but we are still in dire need of a minister to marry us."
"Guys," Eddie stated, "I feel compelled to share a bit of me with you. What I’m about to share with you is very confidential, and needs to be kept completely under wraps, agreed?"
"You have our pledge, Eddie," Julian replied. "Whatever you are willing to share with us will go no further."
"You see, guys," Eddie stated, "I have not completed my training at Seminary, I’m only taking a summer break, and landed this opportunity as an Associate Pastor, just for the summer. Come late August, I’ll be returning to Seminary to complete my studies. For me, this is like an internship."
"This church considers me somewhat of a renegade," Eddie continued, "due to my progressive views. I have been suggesting that this church be more open and welcoming to the LGBT community. My view is that Love is Love, regardless of sexuality. There are others, like you two, that could increase the size of the Church Membership, and the money in the Church coffers."
"From a personal angle, I would be delighted to perform the ceremony, to bind you two as loving husbands. I’m a little concerned about how many people from Dunbar might be invited to your wedding?"
"Actually, very few," Jeff responded, "Julian’s family, and my boss, Alvin Corbin, are the only ones from Dunbar. Most of our guests will be from out of town. My family is all from around Summerton. We haven’t broken the news yet to my family, but plan to do it over the July fourth weekend. We’d prefer to tell them in person."
"You guys are fortunate in one respect," Eddie stated, "you’re not in the public eye, as I am. I have to keep my relationship with my boy hidden from public view, I can’t be open about my love. God I miss my boy!"
Jeff, totally shocked, "Eddie, you’re—gay?"
"Please—please—please, keep that a secret between us!" Eddie exclaimed, "this congregation cannot be allowed to know that."
"Don’t worry, Eddie," Julian stated, "our lips are sealed, how long have you had a boyfriend?"
"Matty, and I have been boyfriends since we were toddlers, we just didn’t realize just how much we really loved each other until we were teens. I’m so proud of my boy, he’s one of the star quarterbacks at Appalachian_State_University."
"Wow!" Jeff exclaimed, "A football player, no less."
"Getting back to your wedding plans," Eddie asked, "have you decided on a date?"
"We’d like to wed on Saturday, August 4th," Jeff said, "so that Julian can return to Brighton University for his senior year as a married man. Next June, I’ll be so proud to watch my husband walk across that stage to get his sheepskin." Eddie smiled.
"If I decide to marry you," Eddie asked, "will you guys keep my name, and my affiliation with this church, out of the spotlight?"
"We totally understand, Eddie," Jeff stated, "if you’ll agree to be our officiating minister, we’ll do everything in our power to protect your secrecy."
Eddie, smiling, "Jeff, Julian, you’ve got yourself a minister! I would like to ask a special favor. I know my boy would love to witness my first wedding ceremony, especially one as special as yours. If I could bring my Matty to watch it, instead of paying me to do the ceremony, could you maybe get us a motel room for Saturday night, and we could enjoy a hot night together here in Dunbar, while you two consummate your first night as husbands?"
"Not a problem," Jeff stated, grinning, "that’s a small price to pay for the service you’ll be providing to us. Thank you so much, Pastor Eddie Hamilton!"
"It’ll be my pleasure," Eddie said, "here is my card, and my cell number is on the back. We have about six weeks to finalize plans. I know you still need to find a location, and you might consider writing your own vows for this very special occasion. Keep in touch."
"We will, Eddie," Julian replied, "and we’ll be anxious to meet your boyfriend too. I know he will be just as awesome as you." Eddie smiled. The three boys shared a loving hug. J&J headed home, and Eddie headed to his apartment, all three happy boys.
* * * * JULY 4TH WEEKEND, J&J MEET DAYTON * * * *
It’s Friday evening, July the First, and J&J are already packing for their trip to Summerton for the weekend. By tomorrow afternoon they will be at Jim and Cal’s home, and will get to meet their new cousin. Dayton is not really Julian’s cousin but Julian and Jeff both consider Dayton to be their cousin. J&J’s excitement, on a scale of ten, is about eleven or twelve!
J&J aren’t the only ones packing, Vi and Art are also packing, as they plan to spend the weekend on Julian’s Dream. As Art had promised Lenny, Lenny was invited to go with Vi, Art and the kids. Art and Vi liked taking Lenny with them, having Lenny on board was like having an on-board lifeguard for Sam and Dom. They were to pick up Lenny on their way to the lake, which would also give Lenny’s parents a chance to meet the White family. The downside for Lenny was that J&J would not be with them this time, as they were going to Summerton for the weekend. As over the Memorial Day weekend, Sam would be sleeping on her fold-up cot in her parent’s room, and Lenny would share the lower bunk with Dom, and nobody in the upper bunk.
Saturday morning J&J assisted Vi and Art loading the coolers and luggage in the back of the Pilot, and then placing their luggage in the trunk of the Beamer. They all left together, but going in different directions. Leaving about 8:30 AM, J&J hoped to be at their Uncles house by around 3:00 PM.
About 3:15 PM Jeff pulled the BMW into Jim and Cal’s driveway and parked, noting the boy in the wheelchair, just at the bottom of the ramp.
"I think someone is expecting us," Julian stated, smiling.
"I noticed," Jeff said, as Dayton wheeled his chair toward the BMW.
"You gotta be Jeff and Julian," Dayton stated.
"And you must be Dayton!" Jeff exclaimed, "We’re so happy to finally meet you."
"Okay," Dayton asked, "which one of you is Jeff, and which one is Julian?"
"I’m Jeff," Jeff said, "and this is Julian."
"I wanna hug you guys," Dayton said, "but if I try to stand up, I might fall."
"Let us come down to your height," Jeff said, dropping down on one knee in front of Dayton, and giving Dayton a squeeze, and Dayton’s arms wrapped around Jeff, giving Jeff a surprisingly tight hug. Dayton’s arms are unbelievably strong. Then Julian got his turn with Dayton. Neither Jeff nor Julian could resist giving Dayton a loving kiss on his cheek.
"Guys, I gotta pee," Dayton stated, "but I need some assistance."
"I guess we better get you into the house," Jeff said.
"I don’t think I can wait that long," Dayton said, "I can pee out here, but I need a little help."
"Tell us what to do," Jeff said, "and we’ll help you."
"Jeff," Dayton said, "help me stand up, and hold on to you for support, so I don’t collapse." Jeff helped Dayton stand up, and Dayton held on to Jeff for support. "Now, Julian, unzip me, and pull my pecker out, and just hold it, while I pee." Julian followed Dayton’s instructions, feeling a bit weird, holding another boy’s pecker in his hand that was neither his own or Jeff’s. Dayton started to pee, and Julian playfully wiggled it back and forth, making Dayton’s stream into more of a spray. Dayton giggled.
Dayton now relieved, "Okay, wring out those last drops, and put me away." Julian struggled a bit, putting Dayton’s junk away, not being used to tucking a pecker into briefs. Dayton, now grinning, "That was fun, thanks, guys." Jim and Cal approached.
"I see you guys have met," Jim stated, grinning, "and Dayton has already taught you how to help him tinkle."
"Yeah," Julian stated, "it was kinda different, holding another boy’s junk, while they—tinkled!"
"You get used to it," Cal said, grinning, "if you spend much time with Dayton."
"Neither of you boys should feel too awkward," Jim said, grinning, "we’ve watched you guys holding each other’s junk, when you pee off the back porch." J&J glanced at each other, grinning.
"Let’s go inside," Cal said, "we’ve got dinner cooking." Julian followed the Uncles inside, and Jeff happily wheeled his new cousin up the ramp and inside.
J&J were a little surprised to see the table set for six, instead of five, and questioned Jim if they were to expect another guest.
"I’ve invited Dayton’s best friend, and care giver, Ozzie, to have dinner with us," Jim said. "It’ll give you two a chance to meet Ozzie, and vice verse. I think you’ll like Ozzie." Cal made a quick call to Ozzie, telling him that dinner was about ready, and about three minutes later, Ozzie walked in without knocking.
Ozzie tended to treat the Ashley-Wilson home like a second home and normally entered without knocking. He’d never caught Jim and Cal naked, as they had decided, when they brought Dayton into their lives, out of respect for Dayton, Jim and Cal reserved their nudity for their bedroom time. Dayton had viewed both of his Dad’s naked on occasion, but they no longer enjoyed being naked in their home, as before.
Ozzie, immediately approaching Dayton and bumping fists, "I guess these boys are your cousins?"
Dayton, smiling, "Ozzie, this is my cousin, Jeff, and this is his boyfriend, Julian. Even though Julian is not my real cousin, I prefer to think of them both as my cousins. Guys, this is my best friend, Ozzie." J&J both offered Ozzie a welcoming handshake, which was warmly returned. Ozzie sat next to Dayton, on the open side of the table, and J&J sat together on the opposite side across from Dayton and Ozzie, Cal and Jim took the end seats.
Jim, during the course of dinner, which consisted of baked fish, with baked potatoes and coleslaw, "Ozzie, I think a correction needs to be made, Jeff and Julian are no longer just boyfriends, they are now fiancées! Julian, show Ozzie that beautiful ring."
Julian proudly, and smiling, shoved his left hand in front of Ozzie.
Ozzie, holding Julian’s hand and examining the diamond, "I didn’t know they even made engagement rings for men."
"Neither did I, Ozzie," Jeff said, "until I was in the market for one. Our jeweler was very helpful. Do you like it?"
"It’s gorgeous," Ozzie stated, "so I guess you and Julian are kinda like Jim and Cal?" Ozzie is well aware that Jim and Cal are a married, gay couple, and Dad’s to Dayton. "I don’t think I could ever fall in love with a boy, I’m too much into girls." Jeff recalled the old days, when he was into girls, but that was before he met Julian, and fell in love with him.
"Different strokes for different folks," Cal stated.
Dinner finished, J&J prepared to leave for Jeff’s parent’s house for the night. J&J gave Ozzie departing hugs, as Ozzie left for his house. Then, thanking Jim and Cal for the nice dinner were ready to walk out the door.
Jeff, giving Dayton a loving hug and a kiss on his cheek, "We’ll see you tomorrow, cuz." Julian followed, also giving Dayton a hug and kiss.
"Guys," Jim said, "why don’t you guys join us for breakfast tomorrow, say about 9:00 AM?"
"Will do, Uncle Jim," Jeff stated, as he and Julian shared hugs with Cal and Jim, and left for Bill and Elaine’s home.
It was still early evening, about 7:30 PM when J&J arrived at Jeff’s parent’s home. They grabbed their overnight bags and headed to the front door. Jeff turned the knob, finding the door unlocked, and the boys entered.
"MOM, DAD, WE’RE HERE!" Jeff announced. Elaine and Bill quickly descended on the boys, Elaine smothering both boys with kisses, while Bill gave them both warm and welcome hugs.
"We didn’t know if you would be here for dinner," Elaine said, "and I didn’t really plan on you for dinner. Are you boys hungry?"
"No Mom," Jeff stated, "we just polished off a nice dinner with Uncle Jim and Uncle Cal, and Dayton. Have you met Dayton?"
"We have," Elaine replied, smiling, "Bill and I took Jim and Cal, and Dayton out for dinner the night after they brought him home. Dayton is a very sweet and lovable young man, and he stole Bill’s and my hearts. It’s such a shame that he is handicapped."
"I have nothing but a lot of respect for Jim and Cal," Bill stated, "they must both have hearts as big as the ocean, to take on the responsibility of adopting a special needs boy like Dayton. That night we had dinner with them, I could feel the love they both have for that young man, as well as the love that Dayton has for them. I think that Jim and Cal will be wonderful Dad’s for Dayton. I know that some people would frown on a gay couple adopting a child, especially a boy, but I think Dayton’s teen years will be happy ones. I don’t think that Dayton will ever be lacking love, as he progresses through adolescence."
"Mom, Dad, can we all sit together?" Jeff asked. "Julian and I have some news that we wish to share with you."
"Let’s sit on the big sofa in the living room," Bill suggested, "where we can all be close." Elaine and Bill took the ends of the sofa, with J&J sitting between them. Jeff sat next to his Dad, and Julian next to Elaine. "OK Son," Bill stated, "don’t keep us in suspense all night!" J&J were both as nervous as long-tailed cats in a room full of rocking chairs.
"Well," Jeff finally said. "Julian and I decided, some time ago, that we wanted to spend our lives together. Dad, Mom, Julian and I are—getting—married! We’re no longer boyfriends, we’re now engaged to marry, and become husbands." Bill wrapped his arm around Jeff’s shoulder, and Elaine wrapped her arm around Julian’s, both parents pulling the boys close.
"Son," Bill stated, smiling, "I don’t think that either your Mom or I are in shock. We’ve surmised for a long time that you two would end up as husbands. We’ve both been watching the love growing between you two. Have you decided on a date yet?"
"August the fourth, it’s on a Saturday, and I’ve made arrangements to take the week of August sixth off for my vacation, and our honeymoon," Jeff stated, smiling, "When Julian returns to Brighton for his senior year, he’ll be a married man!"
"So where do you plan to hold the ceremony?" Elaine asked.
"Since Jeff and I both live in Dunbar," Julian said, "we’ve decided to get married in Dunbar. We’ve found a minister willing to marry us there, and my family is all in Dunbar."
"Julian’s little brother, Dominic," Jeff said, "has agreed to be the Ring Bearer." Then, grinning, "Dom just turned four in January and he calls himself the ‘Ring Bear’." Elaine and Bill both grinned.
"We met Julian’s parents," Elaine said, "and his little sister, at Jeff’s graduation, but Vi and Art felt that Dom was too young, and left him with the neighbor lady. Do you have a photo of Dom?"
"I do," Julian stated, "and this photo, that Mom took, the night that Jeff proposed to me." He showed both photos on his phone to Bill and Elaine.
"Oh!" Elaine remarked, "Dom is a really cute little boy, and the photo of the proposal is so sweet. Where was it taken?"
"At the Flaming Hearth Restaurant," Julian replied. We likely will ask John and Renaldo, the owners of the restaurant, to cater our wedding reception."
"Are you planning a Church Wedding?" Bill asked.
J&J explained about church doctrine and all that BS, but that Eddie Hamilton, an Associate Pastor that was only in Dunbar for the summer, had agreed to marry them. Jeff also explained that his boss, Alvin Corbin, was planning to rent the VFW hall for their wedding, and that it would be his wedding gift to the boys. Bill thought that the rental of the VFW hall was a pretty substantial and generous wedding gift.
It was after 10:00 PM and J&J were getting antsy to get to bed. It had been a long day and a long drive from Dunbar, and they informed Elaine that they were expected for breakfast about 9:00 AM on Sunday morning at Jim and Cal’s, with Dayton.
After cuddling in Jeff’s bed together, naked of course, the boys discussed the evening. They mutually decided that Jeff’s parents are totally OK with them getting married. Jeff had expected some flack, especially from Elaine, but the flack never came. Elaine had really changed, for the better.
J&J arose about 7:30 Sunday morning, dressed and migrated to the kitchen, where Elaine already had coffee ready. The boys both enjoyed a cup of coffee with Elaine and Bill, and then headed to Dayton’s house for breakfast. Dayton’s house? Well, Jim and Cal’s house, but Dayton has become the star resident, and has totally captivated both J&J’s hearts.
J&J arrived at the Uncles home about 8:15 AM and parked, walked up the ramp to the back door and entered. Jim and Cal were up and sharing their first cups of coffee, and Cal poured two more cups for J&J. The four sat together, sipping coffee and chatting.
"Uncle Jim," Jeff stated, "you mentioned on our phone call that you had hired Ozzie and his mom to care for Dayton when you are at work. What do they do?"
"I guess first," Jim replied, "I need to explain about Ozzie. Ozzie is a wonderful young man, and he and Dayton have become close, really close, like companions. Intellectually, Ozzie is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Even though he is two years older than Dayton, because he had to repeat a couple of grades, they will both be in ninth grade when school starts."
"We’ve made arrangements with the school," Jim continued, "for Ozzie to ride the handicap bus to and from school, along with Dayton. As you may have noticed last night, Ozzie is a right strong and rugged young man. Even in school, if Dayton needs to use the bathroom, Ozzie can accompany him, and hold him up in front of the urinal to do his duty." Then, grinning, "Ozzie will do almost anything to help Dayton, except to wipe his butt. It’s fortunate that Dayton has mastered that, but he still requires a little help in pulling his pants back up, zipping, and buckling his belt."
"Would you guys like to wake Dayton up, and help him to get dressed for the day?" Cal asked.
"Sure," Jeff replied, "anything special we need to do?"
"The first thing will be to pull off his plastic pants," Cal explained, "and remove his diaper, just a heads up, his diaper may be soaked. If it is, put it in this plastic bag." Cal, handing Jeff a plastic grocery bag, "if he is wet, you’ll need to get a warm, wet washcloth, wipe and dry his crotch area, before you pull on his briefs."
Julian, somewhat surprised, "Dayton is fourteen and still wears a diaper?"
"Because of Dayton’s paralysis," Jim explained, "he has rather poor bladder control. When Dayton says he needs to pee, time is of the essence. If he doesn’t find a place to go, within about ten minutes, he starts to leak in his pants. We put a diaper on him at night, just in case he has a nocturnal accident. Sometimes he wakes up dry, but he often wets the diaper while he sleeps."
"Come on baby," Jeff stated, "it won’t be much different than taking care of Dominic." J&J headed to Dayton’s bedroom. Dayton looked so peaceful, still sleeping, and J&J smiled at each other.
Julian, sitting next to Dayton on the bed, "Wake up sleepyhead, it’s time to greet a new day." As Dayton’s eyes fell open, Julian couldn’t resist leaning over and giving him a kiss on his forehead. J&J pulled the covers down, exposing Dayton’s nearly naked body, except for the plastic underpants.
"I’m dry this morning," Dayton stated, smiling, "but I need to pee kinda bad. Can you pull off these plastic pants, and my diaper?"
"Sure, cuz," Jeff replied, as he and Julian turned Dayton ninety degrees, with his legs now dangling off the side of the bed. In about one minute J&J pulled off the plastic pants, and removed his diaper, leaving Dayton totally naked. Dayton, after years of care, had grown immune to others seeing him naked, and was totally unashamed of his nudity.
"If one of you will grab that funny jug (pointing) hanging on the table, and hold it for me, I can pee into that," Dayton stated. Julian grinned, noting what looked like ejaculate on the inside of Dayton’s otherwise dry diaper.
Jeff held the quart-sized jug between Dayton’s legs, and guided the head of Dayton’s five-inch flaccid pecker into the two-inch mouth of the jug and Dayton let go, more than half filling the jug. Both J&J noticed still more of the ejaculate dried into Dayton’s growing pubic hair and on his lower abdomen.
"It looks like you had a serious wet dream last night," Julian said.
"Nope," Dayton explained, "a few weeks ago Ozzie showed me how you can play with your pecker, and make that white jizz come out, and it feels really good. After I went to bed last night, my pecker got stiff, and I started to play with it, and I just couldn’t stop, until I cummed. I know I probably shouldn’t do it, but it just feels sooooooo good!"
"Dayton," Jeff explained, "the proper term for what you did is called masturbation. There is nothing wrong with masturbating. It’s perfectly normal and natural, once boys go through puberty, to start masturbating. All boys do it. You show me a boy that never masturbates, and I’ll show you a liar."
"Ozzie doesn’t call it that," Dayton stated, "he calls it jacking off. Sometimes, when were alone together, we jack-off together. He cleans himself up, and then he cleans me up, and we try not to leave any evidence behind. So it’s OK to jack-off?"
"Like Jeff said," Julian stated, "It’s normal and natural, and all boys do it, even though some boys lie, and say they don’t."
"Just what, exactly, is puberty?" Dayton asked.
"It’s a period of time," Jeff explained, "usually when children first become teenagers that we change from girls into women, and boys turn into men. Your body goes through some serious changes. I think you’re still in puberty, you’re growing pubic hair now, just above your pecker, and a year or two ago, it wasn’t there. Soon you’ll start growing facial hair, and need to shave, and your pecker gets bigger too. For girls, they start to grow breasts, little girls are as flat chested as boys, but older girls have titty’s, that give their boyfriends something to play with." Dayton grinned.
"I can remember a time when my pecker was so small, it was hard to get it out of my fly to tinkle." Then, grinning, "but I don’t have that problem anymore." J&J glanced at each other, grinning, and having both observed that Dayton now sports about five inches, in it’s flaccid state.
Julian went to the bathroom and returned with a warm, wet washcloth, and proceeded to clean Dayton’s crotch area, and washed the cum from his body, then dried him. Jeff pulled on a clean pair of skivvies onto Dayton, up to his knees. The boys then handed Dayton a clean tee shirt, which he pulled on by himself. J&J then guided Dayton’s legs through the pants cuffs of shorts, and Julian pulled on socks and sneakers, tying them for Dayton.
"Do you guys—jack-off?" Dayton asked. His question caught both J&J completely off guard. How to answer?
"Of course we do," Jeff answered. "We’re not that much older than you, and we still have plenty of hormones that need release now and then." Neither J&J are going to tell Dayton that they have found more advanced ways to get their rocks off. Dayton is too young to be learning about what gay boys do, and they are both under the assumption that Dayton is probably straight, and likely, so is Ozzie. They’re about to find out. They’re both curious if Ozzie has an ulterior motive for his friendship with Dayton.
"Dayton," Julian asked, "has Ozzie ever offered to do anything else, sexually, besides jacking off?"
"Nope," Dayton replied, "Ozzie told me that when he finds a girlfriend that is willing to put out, he probably won’t even want to jack-off with me anymore." OK, it does seem that Ozzie is straight.
J&J then lifted Dayton off the bed, Jeff supported him while Julian pulled his tidy whites and shorts up, buttoning the top and zipping up his zipper. They then sat Dayton into his wheelchair, and they all went to the kitchen to have breakfast.
"You were right baby," Julian stated, smiling, "dressing Dayton was a whole lot like dressing Dominic, but Dayton doesn’t squirm around like Dom does. He’s much more cooperative." Dayton grinned.
Julian, while they ate, "How does Dayton take his showers?"
"One of us showers with him," Cal explained, "Dayton holds on to the handicap rails, while we wash him, and then ourselves. After rinsing, we help Dayton out of the shower, and he supports himself with the walker, and we dry him. We’ve learned ways to do many of the more difficult things."
Jeff, right after they finished eating, "Tomorrow is the Fourth of July, Dayton, would you like Julian and me to take you to share in the festivities, and watch the fireworks?"
"OH!" Dayton exclaimed, with a smile that would light the world, "That would be awesome! Dad’s, can I go with Jeff and Julian tomorrow?" Before either Cal or Jim answered, "Jeff, wouldn’t I be too much trouble?" Just the question caused Jeff’s eyes to start watering.
"DAYTON!" Jeff exclaimed, with tears running down his face, "You’re our cousin, and we love you. There is no way that you’d be too much trouble! We want to do this, for you."
Jim finally answered, with Cal nodding, "Dayton, Cal and I are pretty protective of you. We wouldn’t trust just anybody with you, but we do have utmost trust in our nephews. We will allow them to take you out for the Fourth of July celebrations, if you wish to go with them."
"COOL!" Dayton exclaimed, "Jeff, I can go!" J&J both smiled, and Jeff pulled Dayton’s shoulder into a sideways hug. "Can Ozzie go with us?"
"As far as we’re concerned, Ozzie will be welcome," Jeff said, "That’s something you need to clear with Ozzie and his Mom. We’ll plan to leave here about 2:00 or 2:30, and return after the fireworks, maybe around 10:30 PM."
"We’ll have the boys ready by 2:00 PM," Cal said, "and I’m quite certain you’ll be taking both of them. Will Dayton’s wheelchair fit in your trunk?"
"I think so," Jeff said, "if we need to, we can lower the small side of the back seat, and the other side can still seat two. It may be a bit cozy for the two in the back seat, but it’s only for a few minutes."
"Guys," Cal stated, "we’re having a small cookout this afternoon, and we’ve invited Mandy and Ozzie to join us. You’ll get to meet Ozzie’s Mom, and I think you’ll like her."
"What about his father?" Julian asked.
"Ozzie’s parents divorced several years ago," Jim explained, "so Mandy is a single Mom, left to raise Ozzie on her own. Dayton and Ozzie’s close friendship has brought our two families close together. We’re almost like one family, living in two houses. It’s been pretty hard on Mandy, financially. She does get child support from Ozzie’s dad, and a small amount of Alimony."
"We haven’t really ‘hired’ Ozzie," Cal explained, "but for his help and assistance with Dayton, we give Ozzie $25 dollars a week for spending cash. We pay Mandy $50 a week for her domestic help. She helps to keep our home clean, and prepares lunch for herself and the two boys, using our food supply, of course. With Ozzie and Dayton being nearly inseparable, it’s like we have two sons, and I think Ozzie regards us as foster Dad’s. He even calls us ‘Dad’ and has become a welcome fixture in our home."
"Ozzie rarely sees his Dad," Jim stated, "and I think every teen boy needs a father figure as a role model, so I guess Ozzie has two role models, and we don’t mind at all. We both like Ozzie, a lot, and we think he’s a pretty awesome young man."
"When we return to school again, in September," Dayton stated, "Ozzie and I are both in the same class. I know that Ozzie has had to repeat a couple of grades, but I’m going to tutor him, and make sure he doesn’t fall behind again. I want to graduate with my best friend!" J&J as well as Jim and Cal all smiled.
"I think that is very commendable, Dayton," Jeff stated, "that you care enough for Ozzie to want help him like that!"
"Ozzie helps me a lot," Dayton replied, "and I’ll help him, it’s just what best friends do." J&J’s hearts swelled with pride, that their first cousin was such a wonderful humanitarian.
"We’re very proud of our son," Jim stated, "what Dayton lacks in physical ability, he makes up for, upstairs. In his 9th grade, his grades were all ‘A’s except for a couple of ‘B’s, and he managed to accomplish that while living in a foster home. He is really as sharp as a tack!" Dayton grinned.
Right after finishing breakfast, Cal did up the dishes, and Jim pulled the potatoes that he’d cooked the night before, from the fridge, and started to make the potato salad. Minutes later, the back door swung open and Ozzie walked in, without knocking.
"Good morning Ozzie," Jim said.
"Mornin’ everybody," Ozzie returned, bumping fists with J&J and Dayton. "It’s good to see you guys again. Dayton, wanna watch some You-tube videos?"
"Sure, Ozzie," Dayton replied, "I’m always good for that." Ozzie pushed Dayton into the living room, where the computer was, and sat in the computer chair, next to Dayton, and they fired up the computer, and brought up You-tube.
Dayton, after about an hour of watching videos with Ozzie, "Ozzie, I gotta pee."
"I’ll get the walker and your jug," Ozzie stated, going to Dayton’s room and getting the funny jug and the walker and returning. Ozzie lifted Dayton out of the wheelchair, and Dayton supported himself with the walker. Ozzie unzipped Dayton’s shorts and pulled out his pecker, guiding it into the mouth of the jug, and Dayton tinkled.
"You know Dayton," Ozzie stated, "I’d feel really weird, holding any other boys’ pecker, but I really don’t mind helping you."
"I’m glad," Dayton replied, "you’re a great friend, and at least, we are kinda familiar with each other’s peckers."
"True that," Ozzie replied, snickering, "I’d love for us to jack off together, but there are just too many others around today."
"It’s only July 3rd," Dayton said, "we’ll have plenty of time, over the summer, to have some fun together. I really like doing that with you. I got myself off last night, before I went to sleep."
Ozzie, grinning, "I did too, but I wouldn’t admit it to anyone else." Ozzie tucked Dayton’s boyhood back inside his shorts, zipped up his zipper, lowered Dayton back into his wheelchair, than took the jug to the bathroom, dumped it into the toilet and rinsed the jug.
While Ozzie and Dayton were watching videos, J&J explained some of the details of their wedding plans with Jim and Cal. They stated how fortunate they were to find Pastor Eddie Hamilton, who was only at the Dunbar UMC for the summer, and that he would be returning to Seminary a couple of weeks after J&J’s Wedding. The kitchens screen door swung open and in walked Mandy.
"Oh, I’m sorry," Mandy apologized, seeing J&J, "you have company."
"It’s fine Mandy," Jim stated, "you’ve met my sister, Elaine, and her husband Bill Parks. This is their Son, and my wonderful nephew, Jeff Parks, and his boyf—fiancé now, Julian White." J&J both shook hands with Mandy, and Mandy grinned.
"These kinds of relationships seem to run in your family." Mandy said.
"Mandy," Cal stated, grinning, "can you handle one more little tidbit? My sister, Sasha, is in a long-term relationship with her girlfriend, Jennifer Colston, and they have custody of Jennifer’s two children from a previous marriage, Leroy and Christine. So those kids have two Mommies’, and, as a family, they couldn’t be happier. Sasha thinks the world of Leroy and Christine, and they both love Sasha just as much as they’re own Mommy."
"I don’t know," Mandy commented, shaking her head, "I don’t think I could ever have a romantic interest in another woman. Do you guys need any help with the cookout?"
"I think everything is under control," Jim said, "I think Cal is planning to fire up the grill around 2:00, so come on over about 3:00 and we can eat soon after. I suspect that Ozzie will still already be here," Jim said, smiling.
"I didn’t ask you, but I wanted to contribute," Mandy stated, "so I made up a big fruit bowl, with watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries and grapes. Should I bring it over?"
"By all means!" Cal exclaimed, "I’m certain we all love fruit. You might want to keep it in the refrigerator until just before we eat, or there may not be any left by mealtime! Fingers have a way of sampling out of an unguarded fruit bowl." Mandy grinned.
"Great," Mandy said, "I’ll be back around 3:00, see you all later." Mandy returned home and J&J quickly decided they like Mandy.
By 2:45 the aroma from the grill was likely causing some of the neighbors to get hungry. Mandy returned, with the fruit bowl, and Jim brought out the potato salad, condiments and plastic plates and flatware, placing them on the picnic bench.
Ozzie wheeled Dayton to the picnic bench, lowered the arms of the wheelchair, so that Dayton could actually sit close to the end of the table, and everyone else sat on the benches. It was truly a family picnic. Cal ‘bunned’ up the hot dogs and hamburgers, some with cheese, and placed the large platter in the center of the table. The four boys were decimating the big jug of Southern Iced Tea.
For those of you that are unaware, Southern Iced Tea is sweetened and Northern Iced Tea is unsweetened, but this family all likes it on the sweet side.
Jim and Cal had only planned to have the hot dogs and burgers, and the potato salad. Mandy’s fruit bowl was a addition that was like the icing on the cake, and everyone enjoyed it immensely. By the time they all finished eating their fill, there were no leftovers left over, but the boys had all guzzled so much tea they were all feeling serious pressure down below.
Dayton was the first to mention that he needed to pee, and Ozzie was quick to wheel Dayton out further into the yard, away from the picnic bench. He lifted Dayton up, out of the chair, and Dayton supported himself on Ozzie’s shoulder while Ozzie pulled Dayton’s pecker out, and held it while Dayton tinkled onto the grass. Once finished, Ozzie put Dayton’s junk away, and wheeled him back to the others. Ozzie was feeling like he was about to pee in his own pants.
Ozzie then walked away from the table, and headed toward the side of the yard, followed by J&J. The three boys faced the fence, Ozzie between J&J, and proceeded to relieve their bladders. J&J were curious to see what Ozzie sported, and got a good view of Ozzie’s nice boyhood. Of course, Ozzie got a glimpse of what J&J had, also, but no comments were made.
Mandy, about to flip out, "I don’t believe those boys are all peeing, right out here in public!"
"Relax, Mandy," Cal stated, grinning, "the beauty of having a privacy fence, nobody can see them, except us."
"Mandy," Jim added. "Don’t be so up-tight, they’re all boys, and they’re just doing what boys do. They’re just making use of Mother Nature’s biggest and closest bathroom." Mandy shook her head, and smirked a little, but didn’t say any more about it.
Jeff, as the boys all returned to the table, "Mandy, Julian and I are taking Dayton down to the July Fourth celebrations tomorrow, and to watch the fireworks. He asked if we could take Ozzie with us, and we’re good with that, with your approval, of course." Ozzie’s eyes are glued on Mandy, hoping she’ll say yes.
"Jim, Cal," Mandy asked, "you’re willing to trust these boys with Dayton?"
"Mandy," Cal replied, "Jeff and Julian are very responsible young men, and we would trust them with our lives—and Dayton’s. Of course we trust them with their cousin’s safety."
"Well," Mandy replied, "if you can trust them that much with Dayton, I guess I can trust them with Ozzie. OK, Ozzie, I guess you can go with them, if you want to."
Ozzie, jumping up and running around the table, and giving Mandy a hug and kiss, "Thanks Mom, I know we’ll have a good time!"
"Ozzie," Cal said, "the boys want to leave here about 2:00 PM tomorrow, so be here by 2:00 and ready to go. Mandy, they’re staying to watch the fireworks, and won’t be home until about 10:30, maybe 11:00, by the time they get out of there, with all the traffic leaving at the same time."
"Cool," Ozzie said, "Dad, can I ask a special favor? I’ve blown most of this weeks money, could I ask for an advance on next weeks, so I can have some money to spend at the celebration?"
"Sure, Son," Cal replied, smiling, "I need to go to an ATM to get it, and I want to give Dayton some too. I’ll have it to give you, by the time J&J are ready to pick you guys up." Ozzie smiled.
Soon after that, Mandy headed home, and J&J left to return to Jeff’s home, leaving Jim and Calvin with Dayton and Ozzie. Plans for the Fourth were set, and J&J are excited to show the boys a good time tomorrow. J&J have taken a strong liking for Ozzie, and can’t help but realize how Ozzie and Mandy have really become part of Jim and Cal’s, and Dayton’s family. It’s been a wonderful and enjoyable day for everyone.

An important message about Pastor Eddie Hamilton. Eddie Hamilton is a character I "borrowed" from Geoff Chassen’s (Fly on the Wall) story ‘Preacher’s Kid’. In my story, Eddie took a summer break from Seminary and landed a summer job at the Dunbar United Methodist Church as an Associate Pastor. He has agreed to perform the Wedding Ceremony for Jeff and Julian on August 4th. Once the wedding takes place, likely in Ch. 36, Eddie will return to Seminary. Eddie’s wonderful boyfriend, Matty Jacobs, will attend the Wedding to watch his boyfriend perform his very first Wedding, happily, a same sex wedding.
To learn more about Eddie Hamilton and Matty Jacobs, I suggest reading The Preacher’s Kid: High School and The Preacher’s Kid: College and Beyond.
I’m sorry folks, as too often happens, I’ve run out of space and time for this chapter, and didn’t follow all of the plans. Chapter 35 will pick up with J&J taking Dayton and Ozzie to the celebration.
Kevin returns home for the summer and (Surprise, surprise) introduces his ‘New’ boyfriend to Kurt and Audrey, and then meets Bryan’s family in Houston. Tony and Jake start to really care for each other, and Tony’s father catches them in a compromised position—uh, oh!
