The fantastic gay writer Gore Vidal died yesterday at the age of 86. Today the national media is full of obits, in fact, too many to compete with. Wikipedia has a terrific article that I recommend reading. My introduction to Gore Vidal was his memoir Palimpsest. I honestly tried to read his historical novels, but we didn't click.

Brief Hello

An early start is never a good thing after a long night of partying. My hearing is still recovering, my head is still fuzzy and my tummy has been cursing me most of the day. Tracey and Dad

Okay so not sure what the hell this weekend will be like.   Tracey is due down for her visit sometime today. That is the good news.   Dad went to his doctor's appointments today. You know, some people absolutely amaze me, and I don't even know why I'm surprised by this specific persons actions. Most of you who know me know that I do not get along with part of my hubby's family, most notable is two of his sisters. One of them is nothing but a user. 250 and Laphroaig

Firefly Music Festival

I spent three days as a volunteer at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. I left Thursday night to set up camp, and came back Monday afternoon. Thursday night was probably the most fun in terms of camping- I was placed next to people who were pretty cool and friendly, and all of us hung out when we got back on Friday and Sunday.   I got to see the Black Keys, the Killers(who set off fireworks for their finale), Graffiti 6, the Silversun Pickups, The Wallflowers, Ok!Go, and Imagine Dragon

Dad, blood, and one confused puppy

Figured I should update everyone. Dad had his endoscopy yesterday. They found blood pooling in his stomach and went in to do repairs. He was supposed to have his colonoscopy today, but someone screwed up and he had solid food. So now he is back on liquids and had to drink eight glasses of something to clean him out. He will have his test around 8 am tomorrow.   His blood count is slowly returning to normal, Over all I am happy that things are improving. He seems to think he will be home by tom

I know there are some people who get along wonderfully with their fathers. My father and I have more of a gas and match relationship.
