Jay & Miles by ColumbusGuy

And these posts too (there were too many to include in the post above)

Guys,

Uncle E, Victor, and CG have been gone for a while. And when they come back, they'll have a lot to catch up on: especially new chapters and stories from authors they follow.

Can we gather a list of new chapters/stories posted since then? That way, they know where to pick up on with whichever stories they read.

I'm not even gonna bother with forums, I mean the CoTT forum has added more than 100 pages since Uncle E left. On second thought... we can do a summary of the goings on this month.

I just want to make this easy for them, because when they get back, they'll have a lot of notifications.

Any thoughts?  :)

Drew, you're correct they are missing alot. I was just reading your review of chapter 53, excellent btw, and thinking how I miss their reviews.
Isaac doesn't know what both CG and Victor are dealing with let alone our typical antics ...

I know what you mean.  I miss all three of them.

I miss them too.

I'm the newest member, but I wish CG and the rest all the best.

We can split the work since we're the majority. I mean a group of three or four of us choose one of the missing members and put everything they might want to know about the stories the follow and the highlights of the forum, as you very well put it.

CG Update:

I called twice to CG's hospital room but couldn't reach him, but I just got an email from his friend to explain what was going on... as follows...

Gary,

I am writing to let you know the latest happenings of CG.

CG will be leaving the hospital today and heading over to Hamilton, just north of Cincinnati.  There he will be staying with a long time friend of his by the name Kat Slat.

This means the phone number I gave you for the hospital room is probably no good by the time you receive this.   CG doesn’t have a land line at the new house.  CG has never owned a cell phone, but we are working to change that.  I am going to try to get it to him later this week but with NewYears coming up it might be next week.  When I have a number I will get it to you.

As far as his vision is concerned, they are doing a good job of keeping CG in the dark (no pun intended).  As near as we can figure it, they were going to schedule a second meeting with the specialist in either one or two weeks.  And they might schedule the surgery to repair the retina at that time or they might not.   And his vision might be restored, possibly better than it was before the cataract surgery, or it may be no better than it is now.  I am reminded of the prelude to a book by James P. Hogan that I read a long time ago. (His quote is at the end... Gary)

So, that's the latest, everyone... hopefully he'll get the new phone soon, and I'll be able to reach him again... I know that letting him go home from the hospital is a good sign... his diabetes is under control... Gary...

Thanks Gary, we'll keep our fingers crossed. Loved the Quote

Oh and I copied these from the COTT forum

Thanks Gary  I hope CG gets a full recovery.

Thanks for the update Gary. CG will be in my prayers this new year, with Isaac and Victor.

Goodnight and see you all tomorrow

Thanks for the update Gary

Cataract surgery took about 2 hours because it was a fully mature cataract and was harder to get out with ultrasound, but it went well.  The new lens if it all goes well probably means I won't need glasses anymore.

I have an appointment on the 6th of January with an ophthamologist.  I should know then when the retina re-attachment surgery can start.  How much sight I get back is determined by whether any more damage was done to the optic nerve than I was born with.  That is still unknown.  I'm hoping to get enough sight back to read and write at GA again myself.  That would mean that I can care for myself again and would be back home in Columbus.  I don't think I'll get all the vision back I had before, but as long as I can do the stuff I mentioned above, I'll be happy, and back in contact with my friends.

My friend just read your poem to me, Gary.  I can't tell you how much it means to me that you wrote that.  I can't think of the words right now, but all your wishes mean more to me than you can imagine.  I love all you guys and I'll get in touch when I can.  Hopefully I will have a phone soon.  I hope you have a great New Year, and I'll be updating my stories as soon as I can.

Thanks again to you all,

CG / Marlin

It's so nice to see you posting stuff, buddy. I'm thrilled to have your profile image come up in my 'Notifications.' Thrilled and very, very happy.

Sorry AC!  Not quite back yet, my friend Matt (NOT the nephew) is typing for me at the moment.  I'm working on a way with Gary to post new chapters.  We have to see if the same method will work with you for our story.

Thank you, Matt! You are a godsend!

Take your time, CG (and Matt). It's just great to have you back

CG/Marlin update:

We are working on a way to get a chapter done for Jay and Miles... Don't know how it'll work out but I'm going to try... here is his medical update... he is going to send me a sound file, and I am going to try to turn it into a new chapter that can be posted...

Medical update:  Had the exam yesterday, first surgery is scheduled for next Thursday, the 14th.  I'll be in the hospital on Wednesday and for a few days after will probably be recovering somewhere because my friend Kat is having foot surgery on Thursday as well.  Not sure if I'll get any vision back right after the surgery, as they have not made that clear to me yet.  Surgery will be around 3 hours and I'll be under general anesthesia.  If you wish to update people at GA, that's cool.
