BendtedWreath Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 At this point I'm just counting down the days until we get that mix-and-match list. If I get so much as one of my guesses correct after that, it would be a sheer miracle, I'm too new to really know. But I'm absolutely going to be guessing when the time comes. 5
Popular Post Stellar Posted July 29, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 29, 2024 Bold of you to think I'd submit something under 3k words. @CincyKris 10
Popular Post Lee Wilson Posted July 29, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 29, 2024 I actually have a guess for Hide and Seek, but I think I’ll wait until the list of authors comes out. 3 3

quokka Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Just curious! How many stories are there for the Secret Author - Hidden? 5
Gary L Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 On to the Fascinator tale, Lots of details to add to my mega excel author predictor programme! So which author loves gory crimes, intelligent police officers who are gay, or if not are not homophobic, and able to write really well about gender self-identification. It is so simple, surely, but I haven’t got a clue 🕵️ 4 1
Popular Post CincyKris Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 I am making a wild guess for the Fascinator Murders -- Dr. Sawzall. 1 3 2 1
Popular Post Lee Wilson Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 I don't think I've read anything like this by anyone here. I'd have to pull a name out of a hat. 4 2
Popular Post BendtedWreath Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 The Fascinator Murders felt like I was watching either an episode or a movie because we also had those glimpses of the murderer's motives and scheming. I also read somewhere (a bit late) that the theme was "hidden," and now I have to think back to what was hidden: Sparkling Water: Hidden singer, hidden powers Nox or Not?: Hidden kitten, hidden feelings Behind the Walls: Hidden garden, hidden orientation Hide and Seek: Hidden partner, hidden roadtrip Alltopia: Hidden memories, hidden perspective? The Fascinator Murders: Hidden murderer with gender dysphoria, hidden witnesses I'm sure there's a lot more hidden in all of them, but that's just off the top of my head. 7
Popular Post kbois Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 I'm going out on a limb with The Fascinator Murders and say @chris191070. But I'm probably waaaaaayyyyyyy off. 1 4 1

I think his comments on the story are there to throw us off the scent. 🔎 why haven't we got a bloodhound emoji? 1 4 1
Popular Post BendtedWreath Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 (edited) I find it interesting that everyone was confused with the who's who and what gender on The Fascinator Murders story and I followed it fine even while commuting to work. Parker was identical, including biologically, despite not enjoying having to be forced to dress his biological gender. Made sense to me. On the other hand, I was slow on the uptake when it came to Alltopia to fully grasp the coma situation until a second read, so I really have no say in this. 🤣 Edited July 30, 2024 by BentedWreath 2 1 3

I guess it just goes to show we all think differently and latch on to different cues while reading. I'm sure it's also why there were so many different perspectives on the theme "hidden." I can't wait to see them all. 1 5

As for the TFM story, I don't possess that level of skill yet. Everyone will see it for themselves eventually. I have maybe half an outline so far. 1 5
Popular Post Cane23 Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 I think nobody is playing this SA game as @kbois! I can imagine her commenting on her own story as it is story from someone else. Then joining discussion, playing confusion and allowing us to explain her and clarify her own story! At the end, to profoundly thank to 'secret author' for 'his' work! 1 6
Popular Post chris191070 Posted July 30, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 30, 2024 I'm thinking @Wayne Gray for The Facilator Murders. 3 2 2 1

While we're thinking "@kbois has to be one of these" it could be she wrote none. 🤣 1 3 2

Gary L Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 And so on to a 13,000 word Christmas classic. It is so beautifully written that I feel I know the author’s style and mark. I’ve got a short list of three names, all female but what do you all think? I really, really enjoyed the combination humour and seriousness. 4
