At this point I'm just counting down the days until we get that mix-and-match list. If I get so much as one of my guesses correct after that, it would be a sheer miracle, I'm too new to really know. But I'm absolutely going to be guessing when the time comes.

On to the Fascinator tale, Lots of details to add to my mega excel author predictor programme! So which author loves gory crimes, intelligent police officers who are gay, or if not are not homophobic, and able to write really well about gender self-identification.  It is so simple, surely, but I haven’t got a clue 🕵️

The Fascinator Murders felt like I was watching either an episode or a movie because we also had those glimpses of the murderer's motives and scheming. I also read somewhere (a bit late) that the theme was "hidden," and now I have to think back to what was hidden:

Sparkling Water: Hidden singer, hidden powers

Nox or Not?: Hidden kitten, hidden feelings

Behind the Walls: Hidden garden, hidden orientation

Hide and Seek: Hidden partner, hidden roadtrip

Alltopia: Hidden memories, hidden perspective?

The Fascinator Murders: Hidden murderer with gender dysphoria, hidden witnesses

I'm sure there's a lot more hidden in all of them, but that's just off the top of my head.

I find it interesting that everyone was confused with the who's who and what gender on The Fascinator Murders story and I followed it fine even while commuting to work. Parker was identical, including biologically, despite not enjoying having to be forced to dress his biological gender. Made sense to me. On the other hand, I was slow on the uptake when it came to Alltopia to fully grasp the coma situation until a second read, so I really have no say in this. 🤣

I guess it just goes to show we all think differently and latch on to different cues while reading. I'm sure it's also why there were so many different perspectives on the theme "hidden." I can't wait to see them all.

There was a gorgeous Hispanic woman talking on the phone across from me, but no distressing "this train will fall apart any minute" noises like yesterday. As for the TFM story, I don't possess that level of skill yet. Everyone will see it for themselves eventually. I have maybe half an outline so far.

And so on to a 13,000 word Christmas classic.  It is so beautifully written that I feel I know the author’s style and mark. I’ve got a short list of three names, all female but what do you all think? 
I really, really enjoyed the combination humour and seriousness.
