He is doing quite well. We saw a difference almost immediately on completion of the procedure. A Saturday @ home usually consisted of him taking several naps while I did chores etc.  Yesterday we had planned a do nothing day to recover.(If I didn't plan on doing nothing, he would have been doing things he was told not to when I was not looking.) Grumpy old goat wasn't grumpy at all and didn't take a single nap all day!

Ready to go up on terrace of block to watch a total eclipse of the sun over Valencia. Protective glasses at the ready.   Next one here in 125 yrs or so….

Granted we were only getting 9% occlusion by me, but I was working outside at the time and never even noticed the eclipse! Totally missed the whole thing going on right over my head!

We had the same weather conditions in my area. We did experience a total eclipse in April 2024. It was such a thrilling event, which I will never forget. It had been 218 years, since our area was last in the path of the totality!

When I was in Florida we had 2 partial. One was about 80%. That was pretty cool. The sky turned a weird orange. The second one barely made a difference. I didn't notice yesterdays either. We only had about 10% occlusion. 

The next full one for Massachusetts is in 2079. I don't think l will be around for that one.

Have great snaps of the orange sky and then darkness fell in about two minutes.  Temp also dropped dramatically. A fascinating experience and a great learning tool for classes… oh I’m retired!  But still learning xxx

 deep breaths, it's Friday. a rather stressful day in my work world. BUT Phil made reservations for dinner last night at our new favorite Italian place, tonight is golf league and He made reservations for the Titanic Exhibit for tomorrow.

Happy Saturday. I hope everyone is doing well. Uber Eats and Uber Rideshare is going good. while looking for something new. The Season 2 trailer of Ahsoka aired at D23 and was released on YouTube. My inner gay nerd squealed. Haydin is back as Anakin! YES!!! D23 had a lot of good upcoming stuff from Disney. Kingdom Hearts 4, yes please!

I sincerely hope that no more appliances in this cursed house go belly up. After dropping $300 to replace the door on the washing machine, it cracked again because the door never hung right in the first place. So this time we just replaced the whole thing. 

Luckily, there is a store that sells "scratch and dent" models which are brand new but have some cosmetic flaws which we don't give a damn about. Even better, my niece's husband manages the store and was nice enough to knock $100 off of the price. It's an LG washer which is a good brand. So washer, new hoses, a mounting kit (the dryer stacks on top), taxes, delivery and haul away of the old one, it came out to $658. Brand new that model sells for $899. I think we got a good deal. 

It won't be delivered until Friday though. I think we can manage until then.

That has GOT to be the most disorganized horse show I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with!

I understand it was the 4H state final. I understand there were a lot of entries. 

Schedule claimed done by 5, closing ceremony @ 6.

My clients had no one competing in the speed classes, so said pick them up @ 3.

So we get there 3.

They FINALLY were ready to load @ 8. Kids ( not ours) were still competing as we loaded.  2 hrs to their barn. Another hour to our house. This dinner @ 10:30 at night is for the birds!

Just seeing these dates has me thinking the changes in life Pablo (and others of his age) must have seen and experienced in his lifetime.

well, it hasn't happened in a couple of summers  but when the boss went in yesterday to grab his stuff for a business trip we all got the text. "AC seems to be out. Dress accordingly. " we all showed up in shorts today.

at 7:40 am it was 27.9 C, 82.2 F, with 69.1% relative humidity... ick

those that could (✋️) left about 11 to work from home. i'll be working from here at least through tomorrow.

I fear losing AC more than I fear losing heat. It's no fun trying to just exist when the inside of any building is above 90F. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon, although working from home is a nice option.
