Well, i have been repaired (for the moment). We were going to go out to celebrate, but Michael is a little under the weather so we'll go another night. 

Today, I baked oatmeal blueberry muffins and made two apple and plum brownie things. Some of that will go in the freezer.  Tonight i'm going to make meatloaf with mashed potato and sautéed cabbage.

It's not...but that's to be expected given what's happened already, but yeah whatever. lol

He's just having an off day, i think. Allergies are bugging Him.. so i've got stuff i can cook. Leftovers from yesterday and i'll make some semi-dirty cabbage to go along with it and the potatoes.  It'll be good.

I do not miss in any way, shape, or form the horrid heat and humidity that turns Florida into Dante's Inferno every summer. So far we  have had maybe a total of 10 or 12 days that have been in the 90s and only a handful that reached that dreaded "feels like" temp of over 100.

Other than an irritating allergy headache, I am determined to make today a good day.

oh the mornings have been so nice and the afternoons a bit warm.  We've only had to put on the AC in the late afternoon when the sun move around to bake us. And no AC overnight as well. It's a blessing.

Well, the new washer has been installed. Everything is level, stacked, and bracketed properly. Now to catch up on a week's worth of laundry. Ugh.

Had to do an unexpected Amazon order last night because as much as I wanted yesterday to be a good day, it was, until it wasn't. 

My MIL had been more confused than usual Tuesday and Wednesday, so on Thursday one of the local daughters (Let's call her Stupid Sister) took her to her primary care where they suspected she had a UTI, which is very common amongst 90-something year old women, especially when they are incontinent. 

So Stupid Sister brings her home, gets her settled......   and leaves. 

Right before I left work, I texted hubby to see if he heard anything and he said that he got a text from Stupid Sister saying that the anitbiotics weren't ready yet. I asked if his mom was home alone. He didn't know. 

When I pulled into the driveway, my husband and son were trying to get my MIL up the front steps. 

Yes, people, Stupid Sister left her confused, 91-year-old mother by herself and the woman decided to go out the front door without her walker. She was hanging onto a holly bush when my husband pulled into the driveway. Did I mention that she had locked herself out and it was RAINING? Yeah, there's that. I hightailed it out of my car, opened the garage and grabbed her wheelchair and we got her into the house, luckily none the worse for wear. I don't think she was outside too long as her sweatshirt was damp, not soaked  (it was just sprinkling). 

So now Amazon will be delivering a nanny cam disguised as a digital clock as well as those doorknob safety thingies you use to keep toddlers and old ladies from opening the door. 

Husband chose the high road and nicely informed Stupid Sister what happened. I wouldn't have been so restrained. I definitely would have ripped her a new one, but as he pointed out, she wouldn't have gotten it because she's stupid and it's not worth having to increase the dosage of our blood pressure meds. The other sister has been working on getting more coverage to have someone here when we are working. Granted both sisters are now retired and I don't understand why neither of them will commit to ONE day a week to come and stay with their mother to keep the expenses down. But what do I know? I'm just the freeloading daughter-in-law.

If she were my sister, there'd be a restraining order in her future. That woman shouldn't be near vulnerable people. She's incompetent.

I'm thankful that she's only my in-law. It's a challenge to take the high road when stuff like this happens, especially for me because as much as I bitch about my MIL, I still go into protective mode and really want to shred Sister Stupid's black heart one muscle fiber at at a time while she's restrained and not sedated. 

As far as what you said...every word rang true. Excellent choices. 

MIL seems to be doing better today and tomorrow has been covered. Digital clock, aka Nanny cam arrives tomorrow and it's a safe bet that I will be spying and watching the feed on the app when Sister Stupid shows up. We are not telling them the true nature of the clock.

Get a super saver ticket and hop on down to The Big Easy. They're likely having their end of summer sale on those adorable handmade folk art dolls. You know the ones. If not, then just pay full price.  Grab a couple and then treat yourself to some beignets.  When you get home, hit the beauty supply for some wig pins (you still have to go thru TSA don't forget). A few candles, some incantations, and well, you can guess the rest. I can say this in polite company. 

Low effort, effective, and no DNA or prints. 

If not, I've given you a writing prompt.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

It is rainy and dreary today but....I have brisket thawing out and it will go in the oven soon at 200° to cook low and slow for several hours. 

Other than that it's going to be a bit of grocery shopping and not much else. I like the lazy days one in a while. It's a nice break as long as the MIL or in-laws do anything to screw it up. 

Off to make bacon, egg and cheese  sandwiches for the gang.

Well, we decided to walk to the grocery store.  We got rather wet since it decided to pour after we left home.

They have lamb shoulder chops on sale (cough cough) and i found some that have actual meat on them so we got some.  

I bought some mint and will make mint sauce. The package of mint we got was $2.66. Already prepared mint sauce in a tiny jar was $7.99.  And now for some reason they like to thicken the mint sauce. It is not supposed to be thick, it's disgusting. It's vinegar, water, sugar and mint...it's not glue. Ugh. 

Now i need to knit a nest for a lonely egg. Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

I can still remember the first time I had homemade mint sauce, exactly as you say.  1983.  Ufff

Yes, I would like to see this also. What is the this lonely egg, and nest all about? Did you find the egg outside? The reason why you are knitting a nest, has left me a bit baffled, as to what end?
