A) by people who leave things to the last minute and don't ever, ever F'g EVER think ahead. b) by people who are in responsible jobs dealing with people who DO NOT f'g LISTEN. They cannot think, they can only read the paper in front of them, which they repeat over and over again. i will calm down ... then i will take over looking after people's appointments around here 3
Mikiesboy Posted September 4, 2025 Author Posted September 4, 2025 Hope everyone had a nice Thursday. I was working on a few things today. I slept in plus it was pouring so I didn't do too much. Have a bit of running around tomorrow. Have a nice night! xo 5

Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted September 5, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted September 5, 2025 Did a few things today...also did not get blown away; it's very gusty today.. Did have a donut and did finish my story for the anthology. i tried a new way (for me) i actually wrote a sort of outline and it has chapters even though it's just over 4k words. The outline was done by chapter and i gave myself a range for the number of words and listed what i wanted to say generally. It worked quite well for my brain, which usually says…no way i can write that. My reader has read it, now just need to track down my editor... 🥳 6

Wow, the cold front is blowing in to my area but no rain again today. After a cold and very wet spring we had a very hot August that was our driest month ever recorded with less than 0.2 inches of precipitation! We are in a drought, although others not that far away have have suffered from flooding. My gardens and my mood have suffered also, but not having to mow my non-garden areas was a bonus. We desperately are in need of more rain. It has been quite a tough year for us weather-wise, but so many others have suffered greatly from their own sudden and unusual weather pattern changes. Wishing all of you, a very pleasant fall season❣️ 3 3

I finally got around to gluing the rain gauge back together - mama duck holds the water tube - so found out we got almost an inch of rain, which was nice and the cool weather has helped to keep the grass from drying out to quickly. We also got one ginormous bang (defo a bang, not a clap) of thunder around midnight. Im trying to think if we had a lot of rain earlier on, but I can’t seem to remember what it was like prior to the start of the big drought this past June. Edited September 6, 2025 by Reader1810 2 3

The white line is historical accumulated rainfall for our area, above it the current and after "Today" is forecasted rain. 2 2 2

Popular Post kbois Posted September 6, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 6, 2025 (edited) Ok... I have to admit.... when I was living in Florida I didn't do much in the way of going out and socializing. Being a substitute for Bunco a couple of times a year was as social as I got. Now that I'm home I'm discovering a whole slew of opportunities. Last night we met a friend and her husband for dinner and then we went to see Unforgettable Fire. They're a U2 cover band. The show was great and I swear the lead singer was a Bono clone. The venue was really cool. It was an old meeting house that was abandoned and pretty run down until a couple bought it a few years ago and did a complete renovation. Now they use it primarily for cover band concerts. We'll definitely be seeing a few more shows. The Candlelight Concert series has shows in this area too. We might try to go see the Coldplay/Imagine Dragons one. I'd love to go see the Queen show but the damn State of Florida still hasn't paid me the 5 weeks they owe me and I don't start work for another week. Also... I went to the meat store today to stock up on stuff. When I got home my MIL looked at me and said "your shirt is on inside out". 🤦♀️ Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted September 8, 2025 Author Popular Post Posted September 8, 2025 Happy Monday... Dan dragged me out for breakfast. i had a cup of coffee, my first in about eight months. I didn't much enjoy it as much as i thought i would. i did enjoy my breakfast though… a scrambled egg, fruit bowl and a pancake. Very nice. Still have a headache, but it's less intense today. Dan and i will make burger patties and process some delicata squash for the freezer. Making a curry for dinner tonight. So, a few things to get on with. Today is also Star Trek Day… So happy that too. 7
kbois Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Went to Aldi yesterday. They have decent fresh baked cookies. At the check out, my husband was perusing the seasonal selection of cookies and pastries. Lo and behold... a new discovery: Fluffernutter cookies... peanut butter cookie with mini-marshmallows and peanut butter chips. WHY AM I JUST DISCOVERING THIS NOW???!!!! GENIUS!!! 4
