Not only am I earning less than the minimum wage for a job without tips, I'm being paid $7 less than some coworkers who are five years behind me in terms of seniority. I'm absolutely livid. In the Balkans, we usually resolve these situations with violence… Just kidding! 😁 6
Cane23 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Watched the opening of the Winter Olympics last night! I love the Canadian outfits. 😍 Since my country isn’t exactly a winter sports powerhouse, I’ll be cheering for Slovenia (my mom is from there)… and for Canada too - because I really like the people! 🙂 4

Does the state you live in have a version of the Department of Labor? Ours the Labor Board, but I think there are other names as well. 5

Math isn't my strong suit, but based on a 40 hour week, for two years, your employer owes you almost $30K. More if overtime is involved or raises are involved. I think that's worth getting a lawyer for. Sorry you're going through this. 7

In Florida, other than wearing socks with sneakers when I went to the gym(cuz otherwise eewww) I can honestly say that on average I had to wear socks maybe 7-10 days a year. Now, other than showering and being tucked under the covers at night, my poor toes have not seen the light of of day in months. Months, people, months!!!!! As a consolation, I'm going for a pedicure next weekend so they don't mutiny. I can't wait for it to hit 50°F so I can break out the flip flops. 2 2

One normal cotton pair and thick Nordic socks on the top plus slippers. It’s 21° c inside but the floor tiles are icy cold. 1 4

You also had to dodge mosquitoes, no-see-ums, alligators, hurricanes, triple digit humidity that can make a cast iron skillet frizzy, swamp butt, lizards, pythons, and huge A/C bills. I think having to keep your feets under wraps for a few months means you're winning. 🤣 Play that lotto so you can retire and head back to Florida as a pain in the rump Snowbird. Think of all the fun you could have bothering rental property managers. Edited February 7 by spyke 4
