    Chapter 9

If it hadn't been for Carl and his gorillas, Mitch might very well have added another notch to his bedpost. I think we all did. Mitch was going to graduate a year before Pete and go on to university. I think we can all see what would have happened, after that. Will this experience make Pete hypervigilant? I suppose only time will tell.

    Chapter 1

W, it is. it works for Justin in GFD too.
  4. Is Dallen becoming more mysterious, or is he just reacting to the mysterious cultures and experiences being thrown at him. I believe Dallen is special, but it's up to @Backwoods Boy to fill in the how and why. No pressure, nope, none at all.
  5. It’s interesting he now has two spirit animals guiding him, and the one from Hawaii shows up after he found the hibiscus shorts, and the owl is still around the next evening, for his encounter with a girl. Whic satisfied his curiosity in that direction.

    Chapter 3

I'm leaning toward it has to be a scam. How could the alleged kidnappers possibly know of Margaret POSSIBLE connection to Joe? The only explanation that it isn't a scam would be if Margaret has a friend who she tells everything to and that so called friend set this up with others.
  7. August 23 2019 The Friday before school started in senior year was the day for signups for fall sports at Jasper County High School. Cody was outside for football while I was a volunteer in the gym helping everyone sign in. I unfortunately wasn’t in the line Cody was in so I didn’t get to see him. He was in Tyler’s line actually. I was thankful I was indoors and not outside, where it was blazing hot under the August sun, despite being morning. I was dressed in a t-shirt with its sleeves cu

    Chapter 3

Well treat this as real case detective, gather evidence, listen to others, call in your fellow officers. What would you tell other victims families to do? Chin up and face the facts Daddy, please Daddy.

    Chapter 1

I struggled to leave a love or tear reaction to that comment I bet this incredible story is that much better using the method you did

  11. THANK YOUUU! that actually means so much to me 💀❣️ the lyrics in all my books are from songs i wrote in the past and changed slightly to fit in these stories

    Chapter 9

Pete was lucky that he found out about Mitch early in this so-called relationship, by Mitch's lying a-hole attitude and actions. This is a tough lesson to learn, but hopefully Pete will recognize the Mitch clones that are lurking around, all through life. Sorry to say but Mitch is not a one of.

    Chapter 9

Argh, Mitch. Yeah, ok, I see the clues now, but there was a lot of potential good there too.
  14. pvtguy

    Chapter 9

Yes, you planted the hints @Al Norris, but guess I just wanted to see Mitch as a good guy! He certainly is not thinking with the big head either! He's actually playing very dangerously. Hormones vs rationality! Hormones usually win! Still doesn't make him a bad person, but one who is making bad decisions and behaving badly. I would like to think he can turn things around! Pete, while very mature for his age, still has to endure the pains of growing up. Great descriptive writing! And confirmation from Uncle George.
  15. Thanks very much for your encouragement, @centexhairysub. I hope you continue to enjoy the story

    Chapter 15 S2

We'll have to wait and see who's at the door. That's a good idea about transitioning into different races. Devin did that on occasion when he was looking for the rapist, because it made him more difficult to see when he was prowling around in the dark. He may think of doing that again, only this time in the daytime as well. Thanks for pointing that out .
  17. The song lyrics had a dark undertone to me. Whose ship is there and where are they?
  18. A compelling story told with empathy. Life is not always or even often easy, but with the support of family and friends it can be memorable. The pacing, transitions, characters are all well written. I just jumped into reading the first chapter and finished it in a couple days. Thanks to jdonley75 for sharing this gem!

    Chapter 9

The signs weren't good and Pete's instincts were pretty solid. In the end, Mitch was trying to take advantage of a younger boy and only partially pulled it off.

    Chapter 15 S2

Another good chapter. I don’t think someone at the door is a big cliffie. I’m sure it will be someone attempting to spread the Word. Idea man here. There are a huge number of ethnic groups they can transition to for their rescues. One time black, another hispanic, then oriental, Indian, the list goes on.
  21. Well done! A splendid ending to a compelling story.
  22. Dallen showed unexpected levels of maturity on more than one occasion in this chapter. I feel like someone needs to take time to get to the root of Karen's behavior. She needs help and not just guys that are willing to go along with her. Story flow is really damn near perfect.

    Chapter 40

@Thomas Wells All three parts of the saga are well worth your time. If you haven’t read Spirit Wolves yet, I’d recommend reading that next. A huge amount of Light at the End of the Tunnel revolves around Caleb trying to redeem his actions in book one. It was touched upon in Shadow, but barely.

LOL! I'm glad you "enjoyed" the chapter. And I enjoyed your speculation

    Chapter 40

Thanks for reading! Shadow Effect is actually part 2 of a three part series Spirit Wolves is #1 The Light at the End of the Tunnel is #3 So go enjoy when you have a chance and don't forget to recommend if you haven't already done so!

Damn, I need a cold shower after reading that chapter... I wonder if the mutual friend is the Ghost Cat?
  27. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I smiled at your comments. Sometimes the reader sees characteristics that the author may have put in subconsciously
