Occasional Poetry - 7. Christmas Carol

Okay, if you're sure ... I'll sing it but well you've never heard me sing. Which reminds me, once when I was in a Catholic church (i was raised as one) and no one was singing, the Priest said, "Just SING, God doesn't care what you sound like!"
I kinda liked that, cuz I do sing and not too badly.
Great carol Parker!!! It feels right for this time of year. I really enjoyed it.

There is a sense of movement in this carol, and I like that. I believe you mentioned the melody to which this was written is 'zippy,' and I'd like to hear it.

Do you play? I'm assuming you do, so hopefully you can share your music with us on youtube.

That piece demands music! I sing a lot and around Christmas, it's often the same songs year after year. This would make a welcome addition.

Awesome... awesome phrasing and sentiment, and I did sing it. It works beautifully. I love the traditional aspect of it... well done, good sir... you may have inspired me... if I can find some time... cheers, and cheers... Gary....

Very traditional take. I somehow pictured men with beards singing this. Definitely singing though. Great carol.

Yes, I am sure. I agree with the priest of your memory...don't care what you sound like, just that you sing. Glad you liked this humble carol; must figure a way to get you the tune...

Alas, I don't play. I will see if there is a way to get you the tune. At last resort, I'll write out the music. Thanks for your commentary. It really does hustle, at least in my imagination.

As I said to AC, perhaps I can write out the music.Do you play keyboard (or know someone who does)? Anyhow, it will be different from the traditional Swedish song I learned last year...

Yes, it was pretty traditional. Fun to imagine, though I did not channel men in beards - I thought of setting, first - candles, small stone church (probably), evening or night - that kind of thing. Glad you liked it, and thanks for the review.
