Occasional Poetry - 4. Chapter 4: Lullaby

i>Written for a friend on a sleepless night.
Sleep, my friend,
and peace attend
your resting and your waking;
 
Stars of light
throughout the night
guard every moment making
 
Better day
as night away
with cold and mist is breaking,
 
And love adorn
your every morn
and every breath you're taking.
 
All mistakes or irregularities are entirely my own.

I feel like this needs music. It would make a great lullaby to sing, since the words themselves hold so much music to them. Very nice and relaxing!

I agree, and perhaps I will hear the melody someday. Spoken quietly and with love, it may be musical enough.

Thank you for your review. Maybe you can sing it to someone you love yourself someday. I guess there must be something good about working late once in a while!
