Occasional Poetry - 51. Fall Observations

em>Thanks to AC for advice and review. But all the mistakes are mine.
Fall Observations

A squirrel drops nuts
over my head in the night
to say Fall arrived.

He cannot wait for
morning to tell me his news;
he's too excited.

We lie there, awake,
contemplating nuts and seeds,
and choose to make love.

*

Katydid asked me
to be his October mate,
but I am taken.

*
Three deer in the field
watched me approach my garden,
hoping for entry.

*

Red Belly taps out
messages on the red pine
for me to decode.

*

Overhead, the geese
hurriedly remind me they
will take Fall with them.

*

The chickadees took
fifteen minutes to thank me
for filling feeders.

*

Winter spoke to me
on the south wind's soft whisper:
Don't get too comfy.

Sense of brightness to these... loved winter's words... wonderful grouping of observations, Parker... cheers... Gary....

Thank you for taking in my autumnal sightings. They came to me often enough that I actually had to sort through them. And no, we can never let those Sunny October days fool us into thinking we'll be left untouched by November...thanks and cheers back!

I loved them all, especially the one about the woodpecker. I also like the ominous last words... "don't get too comfy". Indeed since the north country has already experienced the dreaded S word. Nice job, Parker. :)

Glad you liked these. No, we can't get comfy; November in the north country can get mighty wicked, very quickly. Have your snow tires on yet?

Very, Very Nice Parker!

But am I the only one who read these as slightly naughty?

Do dragons simply have filthy minds? Hmmm ...Maybe owens' do too.

Well, maybe just a little bit...;)...and no, I doubt very much that Dragons are the only naughty ones. I am glad you enjoyed these, even as I loved writing them.
