Occasional Poetry - 64. Quodlibet

i>As usual, all the errors are my own.
Tango

What dance is this, whose steps I tread,
with movements of my hips and head;
my shoulders swinging, hands made free,
as by your knowing smile I'm led?

Was this the Tango meant for me,
that makes you full of mirthful glee
to bend my body over so,
and turn my heart without a key?

Am I an able partner, though;
my visage flushed and all aglow,
I've tried to match you, move for move,
but on me will you smiles bestow?

And so may I your equal prove,
to give and take while in the groove,
and later, once for breath I've pled,
I'll offer you my countermove.

Chant

And shall I touch you there, there,
to give you pleasure, where, where,
you lie a-pulsing, fair, fair
because I touched you there, there?

And shall my lips brush, soft, soft
across your shoulders, oft, oft;
trace tongue alow, aloft, loft,
with all your garments doff'd, doff'd?

Then shall I know you, deep, deep,
and breathless may I keep, keep
you trembling as you weep, weep,
until I watch you sleep, sleep.

I am a blushing mess after reading the second poem. Intriguing and corny. But Tango's my favourite. It moved me. I always liked the dance very much, your poem set an image of couple love. Loved the both poems.

Wonderful Parker... :)

I am very glad you liked Tango so much.Parts of it simply appeared whole in my brain. The dance is exactly what is happening, in many respects. And chant was singing in my head, and had to be written down...Many thanks for your very kind response.

Wonderful poems Parker. I loved both. Tango the poem - as I fell in love with tango the dance years ago - is my favorite. But i was mesmerized by Chant - sensual and hot.

Great Parker! The tango is such an intimate and sensual dance. Your poems captured that.. That chant though, will echo in my head. That's a good thing..

I am glad you liked these two. I hoped their rhythm would be intriguing.

If it echoes in your head, then I am deeply grateful and happy. Thanks!

You devil, you! So, so good... and naughty... I loved them both... lots of love in these. Is there anything better than the dance of love? Sorry it took me so long to get to these, but they were worth the wait, my friend... again, wonderful...Cheers... Gary....

Both poems had my pulse rising. First the dance of love, then the act of love. I love the last line of 'Tango': "I'll offer you my countermove." One person leads the dance, the other person follows, but this dance isn't over until you've had a chance to show your partner a thing or two. In the second poem, you do just that. ;) Two great poems, that seem to go hand-in-hand.
