Carlos passed away on Jun 16, 2023:

I think it's a safe bet Brett isn't going to be killed off but as for the extent of the bumps and bruises....only time (and Carlos) will tell.

I just had a vision of Brett as the quintessional bad patient - grumpy and whiny as all get out. Hmm? How accurate is my vision, I wonder  :P

Just finished the first chapter of Spring. Nope not grumpy or whiny, there is no need for that.

Brett loses both legs, his right arm and right eye. He is rushed to a secret military hospital for repair work, that's the real reason Col Edwards had to send people to get CJ and Cesar. Out he comes, the 6 million dollar man!

I just wonder what Carlos meant when he said this was for me to read on April 1  :huh:

Damn! Now all bets are off. I need to rewrite the entire chapter. And there goes the plotline of Brett turning into a super-hero and wearing a spandex outfit in a Marine Corps camo pattern.

I still say you should go with the pink camo!

"Colonel and Mrs Edwards are more than Brett's boss and CJ's principal; they've become family friends. When the helicopter crashes, the Colonel doesn't wait for whatever the military protocol is. He sends cars to collect CJ and Cesar, calls his wife to get CJ out of class and ready to go and then call Cesar to let him know what's going on (or vice-versa, the order doesn't really matter.)

Let me know if that satisfactorily answers your question. Just post a message in the story discussion thread."

~~~~~~~~~~
see I am not the only one with this thought. I was surprised Cesar was not in the office to be there for CJ - CJ is a minor after all. Then again, the friendship aspect of the relationship between the four people in question does lend credence to this scenario.
I am curious to see how this all works out. Is Carlos going to be in the car that comes for CJ? Is it going to be one of their friends or another military person whom CJ knows? I can't see him in the car by himself (apart from the driver, of course) or it being the Colonel or even Mrs. Edwards going with him - unless there is a vice-principal at the school to cover for her...
April 1 seems so far away....
I kinda wondered why Cesar wasnt there, but i figured if it was me and Mike was hurt and we had a kid and i knew the person telling me, Id be okay if they said they'd get him to the hospital so i could go directly there.
That makes sense. As Cesar stated, the Colonel and his wife are friends to all of them so the level of trust to do just that is there ten fold.
Another thought regarding the transportation arrangements.
The military might think the helicopter was specifically targeted as to the occupants on board, so the level of security at the hospital would be high. I'm thinking  it would be easier for CJ and Cesar to be brought to the hospital under military escort rather than on there own.
I think security would be tight at a hospital, a morgue, or Area 51. Wherever the heck Cesar and CJ are being taken to.
If I remember correctly, victims of the shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington a couple of years ago were transported to George Washington University Hospital and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Those two locations were also used as destinations for victims of the accident in which Adriano's wife died. I'm pretty sure those are the two places with trauma units in DC. When I wrote about Tom's shooting and the accident, the navy yard events were used as a guide of what happens at George Washington when there's an emergency.
You guys got me curious, so I googled it! There are multiple "trauma" centers in DC but only 2 "Level 1" units, GWU and Georgetown. Prior to the closing of the origional Walter Reed at Ft McNair in 2011 that would have probably been the destination of any survivors of the crash, but the new location of the re-aligned tri-service Walter Reed in Bethesda, the first responders would have opted for one of the two local level one centers.
I was wondering about the option for a military facility so thanks for the info Kitt. Local is obviously more logical.
As of Jan 16 Gabriel Morgan was physically healthy, but not mentally in any way ready to even think about continuing the '52 Panhead story.
Gabe and husband have been through some very stressful personal events, and I wish them well.
As much as I wish it not to be true, I think Panhead will remain incomplete!
Thanks for the update, Cris. If you're in contact with him, please make sure he's aware of the legions of fans he still has out here. And I for one wish him and his other half the best. May their troubles go away soon.
Thanks again, buddy!
Damn, you guys made my day today with all the speculation here
tears where streaming from laughing so hard
Spectulation is our favourite sport :)
Given that our friend likes to leave clues and hints in his chapters, it's also good fun trying to work out what might happen next.
You should hear some of the ideas! Like what song to play at Brett's funeral and whether Cesar will become a bottom and end up with Dragon as his new husband!
Wouldn't Brett's funeral be a military affair? Do they allow the addition of random songs?
Cesar will die an anal virgin, well at that end anyway, Dragon will become the bottom, I mean really, trying to suggest anything else would be misleading the readers
I watched a burial at Arlington National Cemetery last year when I visited. What an experience. So moving, sad and at the same time uplifting.
Cesar used to bottom for Brett, I'm sure he'll bend over backwards to please his husband.
