It's 15 degrees here but it's gotten as low as 3 degrees at night

Got the first real snow we've had in a long time. Started as rain and it took me 10 min to chip thru the layer of ice under the smow to get into my truck!

The evening News said snow in Florida tomorrow. Bundle up @kboisand find some socks!

Ohio here, Tues, Wed, Highs of 10 F  Lows -12 F     Wind chills down to  -25 F maybe worse.    Hoping that we do not lose power. We might get above freezing in about nine more days!

My son’s high school just canceled classes for tomorrow.  It’s currently -20F in Minnesota with -40F wind chills.  It’s a special kind of cold which is almost impossible to describe.  Stay inside, stay alive.   🌬️  🧊

No snow where I'm at. Mostly up in the panhandle. But it is cold enough to see your breath. It's raining too.

I've been wearing socks for a while now because of the issue with my ankle tendon. I've been forbidden to wear flip flops on a regular basis. However... I don't do plain socks. I had to get some, so of course I got some patterns... unicorns, dogs, bananas, bumblebees and a lot of stripes and geometric designs. Life's too short to wear plain socks lol.

2 hours later. 8* f (-13*C) actual temps, wind chills below 0 and she says "oh well, past apointment time. Go turn him out."

 

I HATE letting a horse win! But it was just too damn cold.

We have some ace Nordic socks which are wonderful protection against the Spanish stone floor chill factor. Great to have cool floors in the summer heat but in the (relatively) freezing cold of 14°C my tiny feet are frozen!

we hade ice and frost on car windscreen last week something that happens once a decade or so……

Good grief! A foot of snow in New Orleans.  News said they had to contract with a company in Illinois for snow removal. Apparently they have never needed a plow befor.

Can confirm that southern states are lacking in snow removal equipment.   In Georgia,  we got ice, not snow.

I'll take snow over ice any day. I got caught in an ice storm when I was in college. Slid through an intersection and down a hill. I didn't get traction until I got to the bottom. Then I had to go over a bridge and up the hill on the other side. I was driving my mom's 1978 Dodge Dart (I think that's what it was) and just barely made it up the hill. To this day it's the scariest drive I've ever had to do.

I don't mess with snow or ice.  I've slid on it before,  just a little bit and it was extremely unnerving to feel that loss of control.  Your story sounds terrifying, I probably would have been in tears at the end.

I saw that!!! Those poor folks are gonna be stranded ..... .there isn't any kind of infrastructure for snow or ice down south

Saw a video this afternoon. An airboat apparently does quite well on snow. The caption was " Hold my gumbo"

We did a party for their 60th, but it was at their house, so they had to clean it up and stuff, so I'm wanting a venue for this one.  It has to be perfect.  The next big birthday is 80 and I dont know if they'll feel like partying at that age, lol.
