Occasional Poetry - 64. Quodlibet
i>As usual, all the errors are my own.
Tango
What dance is this, whose steps I tread,
with movements of my hips and head;
my shoulders swinging, hands made free,
as by your knowing smile I'm led?
Was this the Tango meant for me,
that makes you full of mirthful glee
to bend my body over so,
and turn my heart without a key?
Am I an able partner, though;
my visage flushed and all aglow,
I've tried to match you, move for move,
but on me will you smiles bestow?
And so may I your equal prove,
to give and take while in the groove,
and later, once for breath I've pled,
I'll offer you my countermove.
Chant
And shall I touch you there, there,
to give you pleasure, where, where,
you lie a-pulsing, fair, fair
because I touched you there, there?
And shall my lips brush, soft, soft
across your shoulders, oft, oft;
trace tongue alow, aloft, loft,
with all your garments doff'd, doff'd?
Then shall I know you, deep, deep,
and breathless may I keep, keep
you trembling as you weep, weep,
until I watch you sleep, sleep.
