Timothy’s Terrible Prompt Stories - 28. Prompt 239 Just give me a minute, please.

For Team Rob  ^_^
Some typical Rob flirting, banter and teasing.
A Rob POV chapter.

"Just give me a minute, please." Eric turned back and looked at the options again, while Rob rolled his eyes. How difficult could it be to choose two sodas and a bucket of popcorn? Nelson and Jasper had gone to the restroom and let the Perry brothers be in charge of the snacks and drinks. They had tried to hand over money, but Rob had growled a bit and told them to ‘go piss.’ This movie was his treat.

“OK, I want two large cokes and one large popcorn.”

“Finally.” Rob stepped up to the counter and caught the eye of the prettier of the two young women manning this section of the main soda-and-popcorn area. She hurried over, ignoring another guy on her way, and the tall blond jock rewarded her with his best smile.

“How can I help you?” Her return smile was genuine and interested. Maybe honing his flirting skills wouldn’t hurt, now that he was a free man.

“Apart from making my day brighter by talking to me?” Rob leaned on the counter in a way he knew would accentuate his muscular torso in the tight T-shirt he was wearing. “How about your phone number?” He glanced down to those assets he could see, pretty and perky under the uniform, and back up to her face. Hmm, nice mouth too, sensual with a hint of lipstick.

Her eyes got wide and she was obviously speechless. Rob heard Eric snort behind him and felt his brother punch his shoulder. He ignored it along with the hiss of ‘Rob, behave!’ which accompanied it.

“No? Oh well, if you can provide me with four cokes, and two large popcorns, I’m all set.” He tilted his head slightly to one side and adopted the innocent appeal which had won over his ex on several occasions.

She nodded, all flustered, and Rob grinned as she bustled over to get the sodas ready and scoop up two buckets of popcorn. The view was even better now, since the uniform hugged her backside in a most flattering manner.

Eric suddenly squeezed in next to him and leaned in to whisper furiously, “Stop staring at her ass!”

“Why? A cute thing like that is meant to be ogled. Just like the sexy butt of your man.”

Rob saw the quick flash of hurt, anger, and worry on his brother’s face and wanted to sigh and roll his eyes. Eric needed to get over his insecurities, did he really think Rob was jealous of his relationship with Nelson? Or that Rob would stand a chance if he was? Anyone could see the dark-haired junior was head-over-heels in love with Eric and only had eyes for him.

Instead he put his most teasing expression on his face and continued, “…And yours too, bro. Don’t think I haven’t noticed Nelson staring at your ass in a possessive way, or the expression on your face when your boyfriend modeled those black jeans. You wanted him to buy them, didn’t you?”

Eric was saved from answering by the return of the concessionaire with the four sodas in a carrier and two large buckets of popcorn. Rob dug out his wallet and paid while flirting shamelessly. When she finally went over to serve other impatient customers, she was almost glowing, cheeks rosy and a bounce was in her step. Rob noticed how the ‘jilted’ guy seemed to forgive her, when she smiled at him and passed on her good mood with a “Sorry to keep you waiting, sir. How can I help you?”

Rob hadn’t forgotten the mixture of embarrassment and smugness on his brother’s face as he teased him about liking Nelson’s ass in those indecent jeans. Something was going on, but what? He also needed to find a way to convince Eric there was a difference between being able to tell a guy was good-looking and being interested in him romantically. Particularly not his sibling, eewww gross, but not Nelson either, even if Rob might have given it a chance, had Nelson been a chick and not a dude. After all, Rob liked a partner with spunk when challenged, nice eyes, long hair, a sexy ass, and hot mouth, all qualities possessed by the shy junior – well, he hoped Nelson had a hot mouth for more than kissing, for Eric’s sake. But Rob also liked boobs, pussy and an extrovert personality, and Nelson couldn’t provide any of those.

Anyway, nice eyes, a sexy ass and a hot mouth were something which chicks and dudes could have in common, and there was no harm in looking and appreciating the scenery or voicing your approval. Rob was certainly going to point out his brother’s good assets whenever possible, even if he was now off-the-market. Hell, Eric and he were enough alike in looks, and Rob had no false modesty; he knew he was a hunk, and his bro was too. They both worked hard to keep their bodies trim, each in his own way, and Rob had seen the longing glances bestowed on Eric from those infatuated girls in the drama club and elsewhere. Eric seemed oblivious or at times irritated about their attention, and this was what had clued him in on the likelihood of Eric being gay.

Oh yeah, and of course the thunderstruck look on his brother’s face at assembly on the first day at school, as Nelson got up to make a short talk about the GSA. Rob sniggered at the memory; it had only been a few moments before Eric managed to bring his expression under control, but Rob had been looking at him by chance and had seen the desire and longing. No one else had noticed, but he knew his brother well. Eric had the same look at age ten, when they visited friends of their parents, whose border collie had a litter of puppies ready for new homes. Rob scowled at the memory of being unable to persuade his parents to let Eric take one of them home.

His quiet sib hardly ever made any demands and rarely expressed what he longed for, but it only made Rob more determined to fulfill any wish of his. On that first day of school the jock had sworn that if his nerdy bro wanted the shy martial arts and drama club geek, Rob was damn well going to make sure Eric got this adorable puppy. Particularly since Rob knew Nelson had the potential of morphing into a protective, fierce guard dog if anyone threatened him or people he cared about. It had been fucking Mission Impossible, and he’d finally resorted to shock tactics, but the look of happiness on Eric’s face whenever he caught sight of Nelson-the-boyfriend – as now – was worth it.

Eric was carrying the cokes and Rob had the popcorn when Nelson and Jasper joined them in the foyer outside the food concession. Nelson walked straight up to Eric and greeted him with a kiss, and Rob grinned at Jasper. Time to tease, and the redhead seemed to agree.

“Hey Nel, watch it. We want those sodas to be cold.”

“Yeah, better hand them to Jazz, we don’t want any accidents,” Rob joined in.

“Nah, that’s OK, I’ll take a bucket.” He walked up to Rob, who handed him one of them.

“You can take yours, Nel, I need to dig the tickets out.” Once Nelson had finished glaring at both jocks and grabbed the popcorn bucket, Rob led the way to the biggest theater in the Cineplex while getting the tickets from his wallet. After passing the ticket taker they proceed up to the doors which had already opened. Rob had wanted tickets for the back row, but only those at the edge were available, so he’d made do with the third row from the back.

The four teens made their way to their seats, with Rob in front, followed by Jasper, Nelson and Eric. Once they sat down, Eric distributed the sodas and Nelson positioned the popcorn between them. Eric put his left arm around the shoulders of his boyfriend and smiled happily when Nelson leaned his head in. The older teen grabbed a handful of popcorn and fed both of them in turn as the lights dimmed and the first commercials began. Rob nodded with satisfaction and focused his attention on the screen.

By the end of the movie, Eric grudgingly admitted Rob had made a good choice. Winter Soldier was exciting and well-made, and all of them were impressed with the special effects. Rob grinned when his brother nodded in agreement with Nelson’s enthusiastic “That was much better than I expected.”

He magnanimously refrained from saying “I told you so,” or pointing out Eric’s enjoyment might have been linked to the way Nelson cuddled up during most of the movie. As the people behind Eric filed out of the row he gestured at him to get going. He was pleased to see Eric gather up the popcorn bucket and the two empty soda cups on the way and he did the same with Jasper’s and his own stuff. Their parents had taught them to clear up after themselves, and the grateful smile of the people waiting to clean the theater as the Perry brothers dumped the trash into the waste bin, was reward enough.

All four boys went to the restroom without having to discuss it, washing their hands before and after relieving themselves; the risk of getting popcorn salt on sensitive body parts was enough to make Rob shudder at the thought. He smirked when Eric and Nelson chose separate stalls while he and Jasper were fine with using the urinal. When they left the restroom and headed out into the mall, the hand-holding couple in front, Rob decided to make his ‘brother-in-law’ squirm a bit.

“Does Nelson always do that?” he asked the redhead.

“Do what?”

“Pee in privacy.”

“No, he must have gotten shy for some reason.” Jasper’s grin showed he was on board with the joke.

“Or worried something might come up, and prevent him from getting relief.”

Hard to imagine what that might be.”

Too hard-on’s… hard on us, is the right term, perhaps.” Rob elaborated the pun.

“Two hard-ons on them, you mean,” Jasper sniggered.

“On the other hand, if they’d shared a stall, they could have gotten more than one kind of relief.”

“Ooooh, kinky!” They high-fived each other, howling with laughter.

“Jeez Eric, your parents must be desperate at times. You can’t take him anywhere, can you? I thought Jazz was bad, but…” Nelson spoke loud enough to make himself heard over the chortling of the two jocks.

“I know, he’s such an embarrassment, it’s like having a five-year-old kid brother with no filter and no limits.” Eric shook his head sadly, portraying the suffering, exasperated sibling perfectly.

“Don’t worry, babe. We’re going out on our own for our next date, and I know just the place.” Nelson’s voice was much lower, but Rob’s hearing was keen and he’d stopped laughing and moved closer.

“Already planning your third date, huh? Good for you, bro.” He tried to tussle Eric’s hair, but his clever brother ducked out of reach, increasing the pace of his walk and dragging Nelson with him.

“We’re going to the book store. Meet you at the car in one hour, Rob.”

“Go find someone else to bother, Jazz.” Nelson seemed happy to ditch his friend too.

Moments later the two jocks were by themselves. Jasper looked somewhat stunned, but Rob simply shrugged. “Wanna go to Modell’s? I need new baseball gloves.”

“Sure. Just give me a minute please. I need to check my phone for messages from Mom and Carolyn.”

“Tight apron strings, huh?”

“Shut up, Rob.”

“Why does everybody say that all the time?”

If you want them, more Rob's POV chapters will occur.
