I mentioned in my comment to the last chapter about possible ancestral connections and I got one right, now to have patience and see if I got anything else right. I may have if Kahoni is a shape shifter.

Those are all interesting thoughts, Craig, and some are not far off the mark. A couple more chapters will reach the goal for this story. As I said elsewhere, reader comments have suggested a possible sequel

I'm starting to think about a sequel, though I can't mention the theme publicly until this story is complete, except to say that certain reader speculations about where this story might have gone have suggested a direction for a sequel

There is still much to be revealed before we will understand Pahana's future path. Although I am now speculating that Kahani may be a shapeshifter and could be Pueo the Hawaiian owl in human form. I wonder if the two paths for Pahana may have come about from his parents, each having a different, but hidden ancestry, one being a Native American ancestor and the other being a Native Hawaiian. Or maybe a more complex possibility of either a Native Hawaiian making a long journey to the American mainland and becoming a part of the Native American culture, or the other way around. That's just my wandering thoughts as it has been known for people from some ancient cultures to successfully make journeys that we would consider impossible. Despite my ramblings I'm still enjoying Pahana'a journey.

By this time, besides officer Farley, Pete should know the names of all the EMTs as well as the ER staff. Jimmy had been out to his fellow nerd friends with no known problems at school, but also to his parents with mixed results. Pete meeting Mr. Breslen caused him to crack in a complete meltdown due to the constant threats by Jordan Turner to his family's future. @drpaladin calls it "The Turner Curse" and I agree. I don't know what the hell Mitch's problem is, but I think everyone will be happy when he moves on to college. The dark storm cloud that seems to follow Pete through life, needs to take a well deserved break.

We know that the "Maggie" they all met is a fake and playing some sort of game. Her age fits to being the daughter of the receptionist at the clinic when Ken donated. Now Ken, considering all possibilities, has come up with another possibility. Does the scamming Maggie have an accomplice or has she become the victim of another crime herself? No point expecting @chris191070 to give any hints before the next chapter. He's busy finding GIFs that say "not telling".

Well, when Tarn meets the 'unknown' beggar, one wonders what sort of conversation will follow when the two get to chatting, especially when it's discussed who Tarn is working for!!
