Web Guys - 1. Chapter 1

Alan Damshroeder

42. 6'-1" 180. Blond-brown hair. Light blue eyes. Clean shaven. Athletic. Well-educated. Married. Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

These stories are mainly fiction and maybe completely fiction in the sense that they’re often role-playing, and you never know who you’re talking with online and how much he’s telling the truth.
That’s also why some of the conversations are short – the guy can’t keep up the pretense, or he loses interest, or he finds someone who wants to have sex -- right now -- and he goes.
But the conversations often tell a lot in a very short time, and they give a view of a particular world. Some are based on stems of conversations, which have been greatly expanded, and some simply on descriptions.
And this is a long adventure with Alan. It spans four books and eight years -- all in little pieces, with only the most indirect plot. But you slowly learn about Alan and perhaps a very small part of his life. Or who knows? Maybe it's what's most important to him.

This feels familiar. Is it one of the previews on your websites? The calves are difficult to forget. ;-)

And thank you for not listing the total number of chapters (yet). While it analogous to knowing that the remaining pages are dwindling and thus the end is nearing, seeing the number seems to overemphasize this for me. I prefer to let the story arc inform me of the impending conclusion. Especially since you don't write like James Cameron whose movies seem to end only to have a surprise pop up to extend the story, sometimes more than once!

Yeah, that story is on one of my web pages.

And I don't honestly know the number of chapters. The series has at least 3 books, and each book introduces maybe 40 guys, one-at-a-time. There's no plot, just Alan and his adventures. He changes a bit over the course of the books, but very, very slowly. Mostly, he's having fun, and we're along for the ride.
