    We had an interesting discussion last week with the Weekly Wrap Up. I see the weather has broke in some places and yet others is getting worse 😮  Up here in Canada, it is so hot and dry we are burning up. Reflections on my birthday

I want to thank everyone at Gay Authors who has made my visits here so satisfying and enjoyable.  The stories are what brought me here and keeps me coming back so I first want to thank Mark Arbour for his CAP Series and later his Bridgemont saga. Deep Concern

Andes Mint Cookies

Ingredients   1 (15.25 ounce) pkg. devil's food cake mix 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 eggs 1 pkg. Andes Mints     Instructions   Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.   In a large bowl, combine cake mix, oil and eggs. A fond farewell to my home

So, this is it. In ten hours I'll be on a plane to my new home in Prince George, five hundred kilometers away from everyone and everything that I've grown up with for the last twenty-seven years of my life.    I wish I could say I was excited, because I should be, and on some level I suppose I am. Seeing the Partial Eclipse

On Monday, August 21st I got to see the solar eclipse. In my area, it was about 77 percent coverage, so just a partial one, but still incredible to watch. I got off work around 1:17, and drove over to the Glasgow County Park on Route 40. There's a little running hill where I went to the top and watched it with about 20 or so people. It was pretty cool- absolutely amazing to watch the sun turn into a little tangerine slice.   Definitely won't forget it, for sure.

We, as humans, find it easy to find reasons to complain and criticize. It takes more effort to find reasons to be thankful. Sixty-eight and going strong

Today I am sixty-eight. The highlight of the day my son and I went to our local Mexican-American restaurant where I had four chilled Cuervo Traditional Tequilas and two Corona Light Cervezas, an order of shredded beef Taquitos Rancheros with rice and whole pinto beans, and a Chocolate Mud Pie to celebrate my birthday. Jalapeno Corn Bread

Jalapeno Corn Bread__________preheat oven to 4251 cup corn meal1 cup buttermilk1 tsp salt1/4 tsp baking soda1 egg1/2 cup shredded cheese (sharp cheddar best)1 onion (shred in food processor)1 jalapeno (shred in food processor)Mix all that up in a bowlheat skillet with cooking oilPour mixture into hot skilletCook in oven for 22-26 minutes.How it turns out depends on how hot the peppers are and how many peppercorns you keep in the mix.
