This is wonderful. Reminds me of an scene of Tucholsky`s Rheinsberg.

They were cursed to live together, but always apart. She had to live as a hawk by day, he a wolf at night.  But there was a moment, twice a day, when they could almost touch.  The last stanza (is the right term?) is that movie.

I dont have good memories of poetry in school (too long, too complicated...) but reading pieces in forums made me curious to read more and I'm happy to have start my day with this one. I dont find it sad, bitter sweet maybe but not sad.

Your poem was beautiful. I didn't write this until i'd gone to bed. Couldn't get the image people separated by geography and circumstand out of my head. How sad.

Writing is cathartic, but only if you're able...

My heart yearns for that spark, that moment that seemed to never be ... that they would finally connect, despite the odds, despite everything ...

Every single time tim, your poems bring such strong emotions out of me  , but a beautiful poem as always. It could be a setting for  a beautiful painting. I could definitely picture it in my head    keep writing and making great food, cheers
